These keepers.....Shaktar 2-1
-
Second half has been atrocious, extra time here we come
-
Personally I think Man U will beat Hull convincingly whoever they put out and this wont even be a talking point, I think most of us are far less optimistic about us even getting a point against an out of form Villa...
-
Given is a fantastic keeper, in my opinion better than Van Der Sar as he currently is, better than Reina but behind Cech and Friedel (who I rate as the best in the league thought he's fairly ancient now). I think it's going a bit far to say Shay is better than Buffon or Casillas, but it's impossible to know for sure as they have consistantly had better defenses in front of them than any of the chaotic back fours Given has had to deal with.

Davie Mac, Mirandinha, and Darren Jackson, and the other one oh dear, it could be a very very young Steve Howey, not 100% though. It's not Anth Lormor is it? BTW I'm certain that's not Jacko. Have a feeling it was one of the kids from the relegation season (wore the away strip on the team photo that season). Graeme somebody? It looks like Jackson across the eyes, but also a bit like that Paul Robinson kid. 100% not Anth Lormor, I think it could well be Howey. Edit David Robinson the kid not fuckin Paul Any chance it's Liam O'Brien? (Edit- if you're talking about the last chap) Can't remember his face that well as I was about 6 when this was taken.

Freddy Shepherd plans Newcastle United return
TicTacWoe replied to Scottish Mag's topic in Newcastle Forum
I notice you don't mention Souness there. I could understand why Shapard went for Allerdyce, I wasn't surprised by the Roeder appointment, but Graham fucking Souness....Every club he has been with apart from one decent season at Blackburn he has managed to completely fuck up on the pitch, off the pitch leaving untold damage for years to come, particularly for ourselves. It's for that appointment that means I will never feel sorry for/forgive Shepard and of course it also coincided with the sacking of Sir Bobby who had finally gotten us going as a team again in the previous seasons. -
Even if they lose tonight they aint going down. It would require them to lose both their games (very conceviable) but also for us to beat Villa (unlikely but not impossible) AND Hull to beat Man U as their goal difference is shit so a draw for Hull wouldn't send the mackems down. I can just about imagine us beating Villa or even Hull beating Man U but not both happening in the same day.
-
Didnt Shearer himself say that he thought it was the right decision? Doesn't help when you're appealing if the club don't actually believe it was a wrong decision themselves I'd imagine
-
Can't see the red card being overturned in a million years unless they feel sorry for us over the disallowed goal which they won't.

This is the second article that makes a big deal out of how wonderful Aaron Hughes is, it's opportunistic journalism. Don't get me wrong he was and is a decent player (though I'd reckon Enrique could be better than him with time) but it was the players who came in for him (Babayaro, Bernard's ill fated return...who else am I forgetting?) that were the problem. I remember thinking it was a bit odd when he left for so little as he was quite versatile but that's about it.

Same here, I could also see us and Hull picking up a point which would be even worse in a way.
-
I don't think capacity is the most important thing in a world cup bid, it's transport and facilities and to be fair, sunderland has neither to any great standard. Yup, they pretty much see infrastructure as equally important judging by their clamping down on the Ukraine stadiums for Euro 2012. Most of the stadiums themselves meet the standards required but the infrastructure is shit which is why they could lose the right to host the tournament.

Good to see you actually needed to edit such a well thought out, thoughtful post by the way, you complete retard.

I think most of us realise how bad we are, but I would not say we are a worse team player for player (though I don't think that's what you're saying) than the likes of Hull. We have however, put in worse performances over the course of this season and if we do finish in the bottom three than we fully deserve to go down. What annoys me is the amount of people who figured we were home and dry after the Boro game and even more so the amount who think that we're completely fucked now when all we need is a spineless goalless draw imo to keep us up, and we've managed to achieve quite a few spineless draws already this season. I wouldnt get too worked up or be too hard on anyone, this season has put us all through the mill and left us all emotionally shattered. Each time something went wrong you would think, it cant get any worse..... One minute your up the next your down (no pun intended). BTW I dont know if i agree about the worse player bit. We do have some players we thought were average that are doing okay else where and some extremely shit ones playing for us. Taking off the rose tinted glasse, its hard to look past bassong as the only player who has excelled this year in our team. Enrique had come on well before injury and beye had done ok before injury, but the rest, can you really say they are better than other teams players? Not based on this years performance no, but overall in different circumstances I think the squad is probably something like the 12th or 13th player for player, but there's no balance, they don't work well together, too many managerial changed etc etc. I think had Keegan stayed we'd have finished somewhere nearing mid table mediocrity which would do me fine atm. What I'm saying is I could imagine the likes of Collocini, Jonas going back to Spain and doing fine, Martins scoring more regularly at a different club, Taylor being more reliable with a more settled defence and so on and so forth. I don't think they're all specifially shit players (however the following most definately are- Nolan, Smith, Cacapa, Geremi, RTaylor, Shola). Hull on the other hand have very few players who I would consider to ever be premier league quality, yet they could still stay up as they have more team spirit/fight and have been more settled.

Yup, and also, Berbatov isn't one tenth of the player Henry was/is and cost almost twice as much more than Henry as I said. EDIT can we change the thread title to 'Arsenal's transfer policy' or 'Danny B is a cunt' please.

Had a look into those stats Danny and it's nowhere near 40million, most of which are counted and Chelsea and Liverpool have spent more on uncounted youth than your rivals in the past 5 years fyi wow that was quick. I know it to be true so I suggest your source is flawed. Nope, I looked into it after our last discussion about this subject Danny and it's true, Liverpool have spent more than any of the other big 4 on youths. In any case, even if you add your supposed 40 million to Arsenals spending they still have a better overall net spend than the other big 4, Spurs, and of course ourselves. That may be the case but if you look at where they were to where they are te whole net spend debate takes on a different light, I havent met a goon lately that isnt demanding a big spending summer. I am not questioning Wengers coaching ability, it is clearly up there with the best but this myth that surrounds the transfer policy is just bullshit. It's not a myth though that theyve spent less than teams like Liverpool, Newcastle and Spurs and achieved more overall, it's a fact. The Arsenal fans who want Wenger to spend big want to win the PL outright which is fair enough, but their current policy would keep them in the top 4 for years to come anyway, which is something I'd imagine most spurs fans would crave for. no they have spent less on there first team, preferring to buying promising youngsters out of their contracts hoping that they will come good and turn a massive profit. They will offload again in the summer, my bet is cliche, good on them but unless they spend money on experience they are fooked. I love that Henry was a magical find but Berbatov was a chance encounter. Nobody sees Henry as a magical find, everyone already knew about him and he cost almost half of what Sprus paid for Berbatov The likes of Anelka was a good find bought for half a million, sold for 21 million.

Pretty shit alright, If only we made sound investments like Wenger has at Arsenal, keeping a team in the top four year in year out on a much smaller budget/net spend than the likes of Spurs is pretty amazing.

Hopefully better than the way he plays football, fucking big puff. Maybe he could join Morten Gamst Pederson's band the players? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Players_(boyband) those scandinavians are thick as thieves
