and he wasn't that good then either, rose tinted glasses effect overload. Again, he couldn't get into the Derby team that finished with the lowest ever points.
-
A good start is essential, the trouble is the way things are going we'll only have about a month to buy/sell players, if we're lucky.
-
I honestly think the best we'll get is the playoffs, the likes of West Brom, Boro, Sheffield United, Reading etc have squads much more up to the task. I think as long as we keep a few and sign one or two we'll make the top 6 but no better than playoffs.
-
Griffin found it hard to keep his place in the Derby defence of that wonderful season they had in 07/08, I honestly think we can do better. If we're looking for cheap over the hill defenders (which I hope we're not) I'd rather go for Murty who's been released by Reading along with Leroy Lita, Sodje and the keeper.
-
We buy players just at that point in time when they've ceased to be useful, when any decent, well run club has stopped sniffing around and the only team foolish enough to meet their crazed wage demands is us.
-
We'd be better of trying to get Snodgrass or Delph, though the latter will probably go somewhere much better.
-
his goal scoring record has pretty much been around one every three games throughout his career, not bad, not world class, a luxury if you can afford one.
-
Same here, not saying he will if he goes but there is a decent chance i reckon. He's not a player for a team fighting relegation but considering the incredible lack of service he did OK in the last few seasons for us.
-
Even when we signed him I was somewhat sceptical about an attacking midfielder with a novelty goal celebration who had scored 6 goals in 200 first team appearances in his career
-
Really think MON was far to cautious in the transfer window, maybe the money just wasnt there but they needed a player or two to really push Arsenal. They'll have to buy very wisely now to stay in the top 6 next year considering they've lost Barry and Laurson, arguably their two best players.
-
We've got a couple of no nonsense, no talent midfield maestros to fill the gap if MON is feeling like going bargain hunting, take your pick from Smith, Geremi, Nolan, Butt or Duff, in fact take them all, and shoot them.

perma tanned cock brown wants to do us a favour

He's extremely injury prone, 5 million for a player in his 30s who in my opinion was overrated to begin with. Better than our midfield agreed, but that's not hard -

god i hope this comes true **text message to Phil brown from Shearer after he buys Nolan** "You know when youve been Tango'd" must have got one of them off Hodgson after the bullard deal too -

Please be true, Nolan is completely finished, drinks too much, eats too much has no pace and is a shadow of the hopeful prospect he once was. I don't believe he has the ability or the desire to even do well in the championship anymore. No better than the much younger, lower paid Guthrie. -
I think its more of a case of him not wanting most of the jobs being "offered" to him, he wants a top club, CL football etc etc Apparently he wanted the Sunderland job tho
-
Hard to understand why Mancini can't seem to get a job these days, did well with Inter. Bruce is the more reliable choice I suppose but I really can't see them going very far with him in charge.

Collo amongst the worst and Faye amongst the best.

I was being harsh on Pavluchenko but I don't get why they put Quaresma in there, he had already gone off the boil before joining Chelsea and was just a loan signing for cover. I also think Berbatov gets undue criticism. Xisco for 6 million would be a much better candidate for that list. -
I was thinking, surely the best way to take care of Xisco and his ilk is to hire a hit man? It would only cost a week of their wages. First time I read that I was thinking you were calling for the extermination of all homosexuals

His English is surprisingly good, thought he couldn't speak a word

Nah I got that wrong, he just got 5 in 18 league apps -

I wouldn't have put him ahead of any of those myself tbh Quaresma on loan is worse than a 14 million striker who scored 5 in all competeitions -

indeed he's done pretty much fuck all for 14 million, and i think berbatov coming second and first in these charts is ridiculous, he scored a reasonable amount of goals this season, sure Man U paid too much but he's hardly been the complete disaster people make out. Nontheless we could easily populate half of a top ten worst signings of this season list. -

Newcastle United lining up Paul Scholes bid
TicTacWoe replied to Scottish Mag's topic in Newcastle Forum
If there's any truth in this I'd be surprised. Nontheless, as good a player Scholes was signing him now would continue our long tradition of signing has beens (albeit a once brilliant one in PS) and would make me extremely pessimistic about our transfer policy once more.
