  1. 4-4-2 recently informed me that Shittu is the heaviest player in the premier league, fact of the day.
  2. He's been pretty ineffective for the most part this season, often going through games without being notcied. If we got any sort of fee over 2 million I'd take it. The trouble is, Bolton only want him on load, and even if we did get a proper bid from them and sell we wouldn't replace him, therefor he needs to stay, unfortunately.
  3. And he could quite likely end up in the championship that way anyway.
  4. Don't like Sam but wouldn't like to see Blackburn go down. Hull and Bolton for me to go down, can't think of another club I really despise that could realistically drop.
  5. Nolan and Raylor! Finally the Xmas transfer disasters start pulling their weight
  6. Bit like when Real signed Faubert from West Ham last season. In truth, I suppose he wouldn't be too bad surrounded by the quality at Barca and only used as a backup. Can't be relied upon but would probably do better back in Spain.
  7. The thing is, as much as I hate to say it, I think we may be in a better position staying with MA if going with Moat means losing Taylor, Barton and to a lesser extent the Argentinians and to a non-existing extent Geremi. Wouldn't be surprised to see Krul go either especially if he's not getting any games... Then again, Ashely would probably sell that lot either way, so yeah go with Moat!
  8. Yobo isn't that bad, prone to the odd blunder alright thought and Taylor could certainly get a game ahead of him. Hibbert is Evertons answer to Ryan Taylor. Jagielka though is quality, very reliable and versatile, better than Lescott overall imo
  9. Micky Quinn spouts some utter shite in that article...
  10. Correctomundo. Actually, thinking about it, I think Dunne is probably the sort of standard that Taylor can hope to emulate. He's never gonna be as good as Vidic or Terry etc but if he progresses from the improvements shown in the second half of last season I reckon he could end up being of a similar standard to Dunne, a generally reliable centre half, commanding enough but still prone to the occasional mistakes and giving away penalties too often.
  11. Tevez back on the bench again
  12. Chelsea 2-1 Hull Meanwhile, Kieron Dyer starting for West Ham!
  13. Still, the 20 odd goals he scores pretty much year in year out aint bad is it
  14. To say Krul is better than Harper after 2 or 3 good performances if unfiar. I would agree that Krul should keep his place and be given a chance to prove that he is the better keeper (which he may well be) but let's not get ahead of ourselves here.
  15. say what? I think he said something along the lines of he wished he'd joined Barcelona instead. well thats not the same thing at all Exactly, it was more of a regret than anything else, he was talking about how Keegan convinced him to stay after the 95/96 season but then after Keegan left himself he felt let down and regretted not leaving when he had thr chance. He has also pointed out on numerous occasions how his time at Newcastle was the best of his life etc etc
  16. He signed from Man United and he's class, he's class........ Fans view of the inept danny simpson league 1 might be the boys level, not the championship, he's quick but thats all...........horrible defender. Pretty much what I thought, he was rubbish for you lot and IIRC didn't Blackburn play midfielders like Andrews ahead of him at right back as he was so bad. I mean he was pretty much your only natural right back for much of last season and couldnt get a game so it doesn't bode too well.
  17. As glad as I am that weve signed someone, I know a few Blackburn fans and they all said he was utter gash last season. As far as I can remember he ended up ending his loan early as he was too shit to get a game for them. I'm sure that Billy guy who sipports them will be able to give a better review of him but that's what I heard.
  18. The sad fact is Krul probably won't be here very long unless the fortunes of this club on and off the field improve astronomically in the near future. If the management continue to favor Harper over Krul, then he'll be off looking for first team football and if he gets a run in the team and impresses he'll be off to a better team. Either way it'll ultimately be very hard to keep hold of any genuinely promising players at the club if indeed they turn out to be the real deal.
  19. Leroy Lita wouldve been decent on a free transfer but Boro got him while we fuck about doing nothing
  20. He'd be decent back in Spain but it was obvious from a mile off that he was completely unsuited to the premiership, especially in a team that itself is not exactly known for it's defensive ability. He's like a poor mans Puyol, who himself wouldn't work that well in the EPL imo.
  21. I've been ranting on about him since he came to England, he could really be fantastic. Still very young, takes longer throws than Delap, player of the season last year. I started a thread about how we should sign him a while back...
  22. Total rubbish That had better not happen, its my worst nightmare FFS!!!! As a manager, he's a better choice than Kinnear but my god O'Leary spouts an almighty amount of shite in interviews. I'd rather keep Hughton as caretaker, at least he gets on with the job in a dignified manner. If this does happen, I dread hearing O'Leary's excuses when things don't go his way. It really is very hard to believe how badly Ashley has run the club. If anything he's managed to fuck up even more so since relegation than before.
  23. Same here, although I have faith in Harper so I don't think we need to rush Krul in just yet. But I fully agree with the sentiment, I would have a lot more respect for Hughton and co if they had the balls to throw in the likes of Vuckic, Ranger and LuaLua rather than persist with the has beens of last season that prove time and time again that they are hopeless (particularly aimed at Nolan, Smith and to a lesser extent Duff, Ameobi and Jonas). I can honestly see Geremi hobbling on if a substitute is required rather than try one of the aforementioned youngsters...I think it would take a severe injury crisis for any of these lads to get a proper run in the first team. This, along with many other obvious reasons, I'm not to enthusiastic about the match or the season in general.
  24. Don't understand the booing, they drew with one of the best teams in the championship, they were one of the worst teams in the premier league, so obviously there isn't much difference in quality between the two teams. It's not as if they lost heavily to one of the poorer quality sides like Blackpool or Scunthorpe. I'd be happy with a draw this evening to be honest.
