FC Twente won the dutch league today. They finished 2nd and got to the cup final in his first season there now theyve won the league for the first time in the clubs history in his second season, maybe VanClaren isn't a complete mug after all...

Jagielka is better than Dawson imo don't know how fit he is though. There's also Lescott but seems to have been inconsistent/injured this season.

Childhood Alcoholism is a growing problem, now back to Gary in the studio I'm not an alcoholic, I hate the French, not all of them, i'm sure there's some nice ones. But Thierry Henry can break his legs for all i care. 18 Nov. 2009 - The day Thierry Henry destroyed a country. Fuck's sake man get over it... On behalf of Ireland, sorry about this guy. Sure, it was an almighty pain in the arse what happened with Henry, but we may well not have won the game anyway and most importantly if ANY of our lads could have gotten away with it they would have done exactly the same.

Newcastle United's Player Of The Season - 2010.
TicTacWoe replied to Kevin's topic in Newcastle Forum
like I said before, if people are picking Nolan for pretty much just his goals then why isn't Carroll getting more of a mention? Carroll scored only two fewer goals in 11 less starts then Nolan and tended to dissapear far less in games. -
thank god, feel sorry for Preston like...

Newcastle United's Player Of The Season - 2010.
TicTacWoe replied to Kevin's topic in Newcastle Forum
I'm surprised Carroll hasn't been mentioned more. If it isn't going to be Enrique then Carroll should be in contention just as much as Nolan as he has scored only 2 goals less than Nolan despite starting 11 fewer games, also tends not to disappear as much as Nolan has at times whilst having a difficult job leading the line. Also, who the fuck voted for Alan Smith? -
what have Madeleine McCann and jokes about Madeleine McCann got in common? They've both been done to death
-
we wouldnt get a huge amount for him as he hasnt really proven anything yet so there really is no point in selling him. Would love someone like him to get a really proper run in the team next season if he continues to show potential.
-
He's knees are fucked though. And according to their fans was a one season wonder and couldnt give a fuck most of this season when fit

We need someone who runs about a lot and puts in many tackles..

Tomkins has been a nightmare all season long, but he did look good when he first came into the team so yeah maybe worth a shot. Noble works hard and could be good in the centre for us so yeah, I'd go along with that one too. While we're stealing players from West Ham lets also have Collison when he comes back from injury.

FC Twente who are top have exactly the same record, 15 wins, 1 draw, 0 defeats, not as many scored mind you.

Apparently the players are not accepting the bonuses if they win due to the club being fucked and that. At least that's what O'Hara said on the radio earlier.

Dalglish made some major mistakes but he also signed Given, Speed, Hamman and Solano (as well as some complete disasters) but considering how much these players contributed to the team for many years (apart from Hamman) I wouldn't put Dalgish in there as he did a lot of good for the club. He was also unlucky with Shearer's injury in his first full season with us.

One of my biggest hopes for whoever we sign this summer is that they have pace, which is more important than ever at the moment. Pacy full backs and midfielders were sorely lacking last season and was one of the main reasons we went down imo, even our best players were plodders by and large. This season it hasn't been as obvious due to the weakness of the league but it's certainly something that still needs addressing.

at least have the courage of your convictions. Ashley Llambias Wise FS DH Souness Allardyce SJH* Owen Duff** * undid all the good with some cowardly, craven greed ** wrong place wrong time, also (in my eyes) the starkest example of a trophy player I can think of. An empty shirt in a position where we had players with promise and potential. Povably not his fault entirely, but he feels my ire regardless I absolutely hated Duff when he was here, thought he was totally useless, but still it seemed like a good deal for 5million at the time given his history and we would have lost N'Zogbia (if that's who you mean) sooner or later anyway (due to the fact we could get a fee for him). He's been great for Fulham this year so obviously it was a mixture of injuries and the general shitness of the overall squad and management setup that Duff didn't work out, as you said wrong place wrong time. Can't really think of any one player who deserves to be in this list as it all stens back to a mistake by Ashley, the previous board or a previous manager.

If it's just a question of who is the most dislikeable I think it has to be Llambias (i find it very hard to think of a more instantly dislikeable man, you just have to look at him to know) but in terms of who's done the most damage to the club I'd say it's a toss up between Ashley and Souness.

Don't know when/if it will be repeated but MattM4 uploaded the whole thing some point and the links (still working) can be found in this thread http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...mp;#entry634049

Havn't seein it in a while but I remember thinking how regretful all of them, particularly Beresford seemed about not winning the league. I was surprised at the degree to which they still seem to think about it. I'm pretty sure it was on this show that Beresford said something about not feeling like he was able to join in the celebrations when he stayed up with southampton as it paled so much in comparison with what he was on the brink of achieving with us, thought that said it all about how important that time was to him.

You can't be serious? Most of these are already regulars for their clubs and are already well out of our reach. Granted, most of them are immense talents, but the likes of Eden Hazard, already a regular for Lille would command a figure well above anything we could afford/be willing to pay and in any case would have interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, Spain etc. Take Mame Diouf for instance, who is no longer with Molde by the way if you havn't notcied, he's with Manchester United. We can't pick up the biggest talents in this age bracket, our only hope is to get them when their even younger as we have done with the likes of Vucick or go for less obviously, unproven young players as the likes Blackburn have done in recent times picking up decent promising players like Olsson and Nzonzi for next to nothing. EDIT- I just remembered who Flair used to be, makes sense now.

That's what I thought when they appointed him, then out of curiosity I had a look on the Burnley forum and there was a shocking amount of support for the appointment despite the fact he was busy steering Sheffield Wednesday into league two at the time IIRC.

The thing is, where would he go in the Prem? Manure will stick with Sir Fuckwit. Shity have Mancini. He won't go back to Chelsea. Arsenal will stick with The Professor (and the board won't be willing to spend the type of money Mourinho would want at his disposal) He won't want to be be playing in the Europa League (or worse) like Liverpool will be in. And, again, no money to spend. Spurs have 'arry. And there's nowhere else he'd be willing to go. There was a fairly serious sounding rumour doing the rounds that he'd be back at Chelsea next season depending on how Ancelotti gets on in the coming months and I reckon if Man City don't make the CL then Mancini's job may be under threat. Still, he's far more likely to go to Real Madrid in the summer imo.
