surely gonna be a red card in this game
-
I miss his trademark nodding smiley
-
Surely Carrick could do better than that, Bellemy one's been a certainty for a while now I reckon
-
Yeah, quite a flawed player but still a lot better than a lot of people make him out to be, and a lot better than what we'll have up front for quite a while
-
apparently he's been taken to hospital, supposed to have collapsed in a restaurant in South Africa. don't agree with a lot of the stuff he's come out with as head of Uefa but an absolute legend of football nonetheless, hope he's alright
-
Agreed, think Robben missing the first few games will count against him and Sneijder's contributed a little more overall in general. As for Villa, Spain would be long gone if it wasn't for him. Have to say I think Forlan may have been the best of the lot but won't get the recognition, had huge responsibility and didn't let his team down in a single game.
-
just noticed that the mackems captain Lorik Cana has gone to Galatassery for 5 million, looked really good last season I thought, will be a big miss for them.
-
He's a free agent, you fucking lemonhead. And Everton will obvs offer him a contract. Hmm Newcastle or Everton, tough choice He's become a free agent because Everton didn't offer him a new contract, its a weird one like, they hardly just forgot to do it...
-
West Ham and Sunderland are in for him too supposedly, you'd think Everton would have made him a new offer but havn't thus far. The only tiny chance we'd have of signing him is if we offered him gauranteed first teem football and a decent wage.
-
Yes. I think. Yeah, the first European country to win outside of Europe at all never mind southern hemisphere
-
a few years ago I'd have said yes but as usual in the last few seasons we come in for players like this when they're on the way down, would be a slight improvement on Nolan/Smith but that's not saying a lot. He still has the odd good game and has a bit of flare but wouldn't be wild about signing him.
-
Anyone else think it's a bit odd that Boyd's gone to Boro? I'm not saying we should have signed him, it's very hard to know how he'd fair in the PL, but you'd think someone out of the likes of Birmingham, Blackburn, Wolves, Stoke etc etc would have come in for him seeing as he was on a free. I know it's long been said that he has personality problems (can't remember what exactly) maybe that's the reason.
-
That's a pity I was hoping there was two of you, frankly one just wasn't enough
-
could be a good signing, hard to know how a decent championship player will fair in the PL, some of them fail miserably like Earnshaw but some turn out to be well capable of stepping up like Roger Johnson and Scott Dann for Birmingham last season. Worst comes to worst and he's shit, we'll probably recoup the 1 million we've supposedly shelled out on him.
-
true, forgot about him, actually think he's gone up a notch in the world cup, looks a bit more skillful than usual. Heitinga has been solid so far also.
-
best Cypriot we ever had, fact.
-
Which Premier League players have shined? Mascherano was mostly solid for Argentina even in the thrashing from Germany, apart from that errrr......not many spring to mind De Jong's been pretty good.
-
Same here, on top of that they've played consistantly better than anyone else in the tournament, and usually it ends up being some dodgy shit like Italy in 2006 or to a much lesser extent France in 98 winning it when there were teams who played much better but didn't get the luck. Spain have brought very little to the World Cup by comparison, without Villa they'd be back home already. Really hope it's either the Germans or the Dutch.
-
Some talk of Woy Hodgson coming in for S Taylor, could really see that happening, he's pretty much Carragher mark II in the making if he develops a bit more. Add to the fact Carroll looks like he's staying for the time being at least.
-
Would be a close run thing for me between Beardsley and Rob Lee, I don't think Lee ever gets enough credit for what he did for us over the years.
-
Germany are infinitely more likable without this fella smirking away

Stevie's Waterloo? Why because you, another Asian and a lad from Burnley thought the ref had a good game? Because you're a racist cunt. How am I racist cunt for suggesting that in my opinion the referee was out of his depth YOU FUCKIN MASSIVE NOB. The only reason you're even suggesting that is because of your Asian heritage you fuckin arsehole. You're a bad as a scouser on the fiddler, or someone who cries rape when they haven't been. Indeed, anyone would have done the same in that situation, he rolled the dice, ultimately saved his team and will miss the biggest game his country have played in for 60 years. If a Ghana player had done it Chiles would be hailing his ingenuity. exactly "why do we do this to ourselves" he just said as if we're all fucking ghanain, just toss MD out of the studio and be impartial instead of a bunch of bandwagoning cunts If they'd got through to the semis, I guarantee Chiles would have blacked up for it. ahahahaha like Louie on Trading Places. A quick look at wiki states that he was voted best ref in Asia two years running. He otherwise referees in the Uzbek League, I've played for pub teams of better quality than some in that league no doubt, you can't have referees from minnow leagues refereeing games which could define a countries history. If Paraguay for example won the WC it would be the biggest achievement in the countries history, in any way shape or form, that's how big this competition is, again I use the example of Chelsea v Barcelona, Norwegian ref out of his depth, not used to high octane, high paced, high importance football, it's a total abomination of the sport asking someone to referee a life defining game in front of 1 billion people from a country with a monkey holding a melon slice upside down on its' flag. I tend to agree with this i general, at least i theory it does seem a bit ridiculous to have a Uzbek ref for such an important game but ti be fair that ref's been quite good in the world cup and some of the european ones from supposed top leagues have been fucking shite.
