  1. Clarke was paid better than some managers were when he was assistant at West Ham so I can imagine his demands might just have been too much to reasonably pay for an assistant manager position.
  2. fucking idiotic shit, just done to get a bit of attention with which theyve probably succeeded. Ironic it's an Irish company as we're crippled beyond belief economically ourselves, the last thing most people around here are thinking of is skiing.
  3. definitely looking like Routledge isnt going to cut it at the highest level from recent showings, and Lovenkrands is pretty close to being finished. Not the end of the world that we lost but I still think we could have gone with a stronger team, the league cup doesnt add that many more games so it wouldnt have been a massive distraction.
  4. means nothing, if we lose to the mackams and another few games after that I can see him getting sacked but I reckon we'll pick up enough points to please the fat conductor for now.
  5. I'm no fan of Clint's but that's a bit harsh, I'd rather he go for Craig Eastmond, the little shit
  6. Agreed. Should do it at the match too. I dont object at all. Its the stupid fuckers that wait until the very last second to get their shit sorted out that irritate me. exactly, how many times I've been in the queue with a bunch of twats moaning on about how long its taking and when the time comes to go through the security they havn't gotten anything ready and seem shocked that they're being asked to do anything at all. Ugh, people.
  7. Le Tissier was unbelievable like, always seemed to score amazing goals.
  8. not good enough for Everton ? He was good enough for Everton to offer him 15k a week which he turned down, then they fucked up so he was a free agent. He's only young like, let's not write him off before he's even kicked a ball for us eh? 15 grand a week ? I'm not surprised, in premiership football terms. Maybe Everton are going down the same road as we are now and won't hold onto any top players they manage to find in footballs bargain basement. Never mind, they are a solvent club going nowhere fast, with people jumping on a solitary couple of seasons as "proof" that such an approach brings you success. Because it does not. Would you swap Evertons period of "good bookkeeping" for our champions League and european exploits ? Not good enough for Everton. If he was, and they wanted to keep him and had ambition, they would have offered him more money. Simple as that. No, obviously. They were to offer him more money but missed the deadline to make a new offer due to a mistake on someone part, they were due 4 million in compensation if they had kept him and someone wanted to buy him so they very much wanted to keep him, it was just an error that led to him leaving coupled with him knowing he could get better money elsewhere due to Everton being fairly stingy in terms of wages.

He's only young like, let's not write him off before he's even kicked a ball for us eh? What did we end up paying for him (weekly wages)? Is this known? no idea, hope we're not paying him more than 20k. We might have offered him more first team football but it's hard to see where he'd even fit into the team at the moment (unless he's good at right back )

  11. David James has played for all of them except Newcastle and Wolves
  12. Arsenal's squad better than Chelsea's or something? actually I'd say it is, in that they've better youngsters than Chelsea from what I've seen, obviously the Chelsea first 11 is better than Arsenals especially given the fact the Arsenal first 11 hasnt been all fully fit at once for about a decade.
  13. you know what they say, live by the swordfish die by the swordfish
  14. yeah looks like theyre properly going for it this season, probably win it too, oh well, if we do somehow manage to beat them then we could be seriously in with a chance of Europe by getting to the final if its against someone already qualified for the CL orwhatever.

    Shocking

    awful stuff, shocking even
  16. someone told me David Batty had become a qualified butcher a while ago, dunno if there was any truth in that though.
  17. Bellemey was class, still is, one of the best players we've had in the last 20 years but for me world class means he should be able to get into any team in the world theoretically. Injuries and personality stopped him just short of becoming world class imo. Great player nonethelss, and you're right, if he was Spanish/Dutch/South American the media would've been jizzing off about him for years.
  18. aye were so unpredictable at the moment, literally cant predict any of those games even the Arsenal one with their knack of self destruction at times who knows.
  19. My Thoughts- Tiote is superb Simpson isn't a world beater but is a hell of a lot better than Perch Nolan was invisible for most of the game but scores vital goals (in his role as our pound-shop fatter version of Frank Lampard) Thank god Smith is permanently benched now Two up front is encouraging from CH, pity we don't have a better option to play with Caroll (shola is fine as backup but nothing more though he played well today)
  20. he's very quickly becoming world class
