I have to admit that Nolan has really surprised me. I started a thread tearing into him around the time we were relegated but since he's settled in he has gradually improved more and more. Sure he goes very much in and out of games, but so does Lampard for Chelsea yet he ends up with 20 odd goals almost every season. Obviously he's not THAT great but he's certainly worth his place in the side on current form now.

Completely agree, obviously ideally we'd all want MA gone but these days I don't think FS is in any way the answer. We just have to wait until something really decent comes around, which could be a very long wait unfortunately. I've actually warmed to Kerr since he managed Ireland, I could imagine Hughton wanted him here alright. He did well with Ireland but played dire football with what was a better squad of players than we have now but his achievments with the youths was fantastic.

What's to be done with him when he comes back fully fit? I personally rate him still despite his twattish behavior but it would be very harsh on Williamson to drop him or to try and accommodate Taylor at right back which won't happen anyway. Problem is though if he doesn't play it's even more likely he'll be off and for less money too.
