bit of a long contract that...
-
Russia are hardly winning any popularity contests either are they though...
-
If I was in charge of the FA, I'd plough every penny that would have gone on hosting 2018 into youth development and coaching, would be some sort of revenge if England could win the thing.
-
thought it would be bigger, disappointed tbh
-
Horrible, you lot should have gotten it, any of the others ahead of Russia though. They can't even qualify for the world cup with any regularity these days anyway, fucking joke.

Which defensive partnership would you like to see?

this might be the statistic I was referring to earlier for anyone who cares, ignore the fact it's from the Sun http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport...est-player.html -

Still looks quick to me like. Probably still pacier than any of the other CBs at the club. Got wrongfooted pretty quick for their goal. Howay man. Anyone can be turned on a pitch like that. Players were struggling to keep their feet all game. It doesn't mean Campbell lacks pace. Believe it or not but apparently in some sort of speed test at Arsenal last season only Walcott was ahead of Sol, in terms of sprints or something like that. -
once a good player, always a good player. well he's been shit for as long as he looked decent, and even when he was supposedly good they still went down, not sure if he was ever that good myself. Wouldn't say no as a free transfter at the same time, decent squad player but I'd rather have Taylor of the two.
-
anyone going on about us replacing Taylor with Wheater should have a word with any Boro fan, he's been utter gash since they went down, they've given up on him, gives away simple goals every time I've seen him play since his first season or so when he looked good.

it's not as if Johnson is rotting in the reserves or something, granted he's on the bench a lot but he always comes on, so basically there's no way theyre going to send him out on loan to anyone. SWP is a much more realistic option because they supposedly want rid of him, think his best days are behind him though, good loan signing though.

they remind me of the band turbonegro

I've no problem with players wanting to leave in the situation we were in back then, same goes for the others who left, he was on very low wages for a first team player also. I'd easily take Bassong back anyway, he's not been that consistant for Spurs but he was immense against liverpool the other day. Anyway, as for taylor, as much as I don't think he's actually too bad and still has potential, he can fuck off if he really wants to leave.
-
Harry can have him if he gives us Bassong back...

Nobody knows, no-one has any clue, it's all total guesswork. If I had to try and predict what this man whose actions have often made absolutely no sense will do next I'd say we'll be stuck with him for a longish period UNLESS a really major bid comes in for the club, which is pretty unlikely. In many ways I hope this is the case as things could be a lot worse than how MA is currently running the club if we were accept any old bid for it. At least we buy some decent players from time to time and at the moment don't seem to be shipping out the good ones we currently have in the squad (touch wood etc), unlike Everton who've been told for yet another forthcoming transfer window that Moyes has to sell to buy.

RIP Leslie, great actor, knew he must be old by this stage but somehow thought he'd live to be 100 or something,
-
pleased with that, and I don't think keepers should really be judged on games in these conditions, Krul's been fine for us so far on the whole especially for a young goalkeeper.
-
Absolute shot in the dark here but what about Ryan Babel? Alledgedly the dippers want rid. and they have everyright... Probably offer more than Loven and Best though. Don't know about Babel, on several occasions he's looked class but the very fact that both Rafa and Roy havn't seemed keen on him even when they have injuries makes me worried. Was really highly rated before he went there though.

I think people like to bash their own league, a Spanish friend of mine is constantly saying La Liga is a two team league and apart from the obvious two there's no teams of any quality compared to even the likes of Everton/Villa etc. As far as I'm concerned the EPL is as good as any of them, maybe 3 or 4 of the top 5 players in the world play in Spain but I reckon there's a lot more good players on the whole in the EPL. Hard to choose between the two league. The German and Italian leagues are way off imo.

the problem with Smith is he's shit, on huge wages and seems like a cunt, if even one of those three factors wernt there people wouldnt be so hard on him
-
I still think he's good but error prone, like a poor mans Richard Dunne or very poor mans Carragher, neither of those two were great aged 23 so I'd certainly keep him and see if he improves.
-
agree with the OP Guthrie should be backup for Barton in the centre and that's it, hopefully he improves, he's certainly decent backup for the centre though even as it is.

It's all well and good that Gibson has ploughed money in and given managers time but his appointments have often been quite bad, and his timing in terms of actual sackings is bizarre. They do need to hold onto him though, but he has to bare a lot of responsibility for the position the clubs in.
