I've recently decided that I don't believe in porcupines, have any of you lot ever seen one? Sure, they SAY they exist but you do have to wonder. I call bullshit. Hedgehogs, fair enough, pine cones, likewise, but PORCUPINES! Think about it Wolfy.

Thiat's the thing, they spent a lot but also sold a lot so ultimately they've done good business. Of their current first team squad, only Modric cost over ten million (Bale's fee was something like 7 with add ons and has probably risen to something like 12 million but still a good deal none the less).

This has blown my mind. Reminds me of the day I found out Santa Claus doesn't exist.

So many decent English defenders and they call up Martin Kelly. Rio Ferdinand, Ryan Shawcross, Micah Richards, Michael Dawson (not sure if he's fit) are all much better. If they wanted a young, promising defender then that Caulker lad at Swansea on loan from Spurs is a better option.

Ben Arfa first won his first cap 5 years ago, Cabaye already had caps before joining us. What is international class anyway?
-
He played in 30 league games (starting 29) and had an injury earlier on. I like Jagielka myself, versatile and consistent (if unspectacular)

Fraser Forster or The Scottish Football Thread.

Izaguirre, Ledley and Hooper could probably do a job for mid table sides. The rest are championship level or worse imo. -
In terms of England keepers from the last few years I really rated Kirkland, pity he's almost always injured. Just joined Sheffield Wednesday on a free.

So glad we don't tend to sign players like this any more, the likes of Geremi, Smith, Owen, Duff etc who 's best days were already behind them and came for the massive wages. Smith was the worst though, by a long way.
-
Surely one of Robinson, Ben Foster (if Woy could convince him), Fraser Foster, Kelvin Davis, Scott Carson or any of the English keeps in the championship who play regularly should have been picked ahead of Jack Butland?
-
Wolves will be good too if the new manager doesn't completely fuck up. Very few of their squad will leave as they're a bit shit for the PL by and large but probably good enough for the championship.
-
Completely agree on Johnson ahead of Downing but I reckon the reason Lennon was overlooked was that he's seen as being too similar to Walcott and Walcott's had a decent enough season (with a few notably awful games). Honestly can't think of a single reason why Downing was picked.
-
Agree but can't honestly think of any realistic manager they could appoint who could take the current Liverpool squad where their fans expect them to be any time soon.
-
What's the alternative though? If they have to have the holders in it someone has to get the short straw. At least they're in it still, unlike Spurs.
-
They paid 30 odd million for him last simmer didn't they?
-
Looks like a quality player anyway. How come there's a bunch of top class belgian players (Vermalaen, Fallaini, Hazard, Kompany, Dembele, Defour, Courtois etc) yet their national team never even seems to come close to qualification these days?
-
Eden Hazard will announce which club he will be joining after the Lille match today apparently. Would love him to say "spurs...........................................................................................................but seriously, it's man city"
-
What about the other suspended 3, Ramires, Ivanovic and Mereiles, did they have kits on too? Just wondering as I didn't watch the celebrations. All 3 contributed far more to Chelsea's success than Terry, particularly Ramires and Ivanovic.

not sure, a year or so ago there wasn't much left to comb

Where has Zola's hair come from? At West Ham he was going completely bald IIRC

No fan of Sam but can't stand Holloway either so couldn't care less who won this game.
