I think I agree, tbh, on 2nd thoughts. I don't know what they have tried, but attitude can be changed especially in a young player. The trouble is, we on the outside, don't really know how poor his attitude is. Thats pretty much it, even Joey Barton has shown he can change (for the time being at least) so there's hope for Ranger . Whether he's any good as a footballer remains to be seen.

Dyer was fantastic back in the day but he's played so little in recent years (dont think hes ever completed a full 90 min with West Ham) so I don't think it would be worth it now.
-
possibly. We should at least give him another season. It's not as if we have a load of quality strikers anyway...

Keane got his 50th and 51st goals for Ireland tonight, he's not what he once was but that's some record. He's one of only 13 players to score over 50 international goals. Shay was in top form too, should really get himself a new team (Villa now with Friedel gone?)

Quality players signed under old transfer policy

Tiote and HBA are miles better than; VenisonGillespie,, Beresford, Lee, Sellars, Albert, Peacock, Solano, Dyer, Jenas, Robert, Bellamy, Parker, Hottiger, Dabizas, Acuna, Carr, Butt, Milner........... I thought Sellars, Acuna, Carr, Hottiger, Dabizas, Jenas and Butt were pretty shit. Tiote has had a good season and HBA as been out injured most of the season, yet you proclaim they are better than the players in bold. Care to explain how you made this decision. I certainly wouldn't swap Tiote or HBA or any of them, would you? take a look at the ones i left out (Shearer, Ginola, Cole, Ferdinand etc..), they are world class and shouldn't be mixed in with above average players. Bellamy is the only one who shouldn't be on that list, but he's a grade A twat and i took the agro he'd cause into account. Are you fucking nuts? Ben Arfa has done next to nothing so far and you put him ahead of Rob Lee? Solano? Are you mental? Both put in year upon year of good service. -
Ba was bought for 7 million but a lot of that fee was based on appearances due to his dodgy knee (though in his career he hasn't missed much football until last season apparently) and from what I've heard does have a release clause of next to nothing due to their relegation. Hitzelsperger's release clause is more like 1 million. All from a west ham supporting mate who claims to be ITK

Have Bolton played ‘attractive football’ this season?

They were in deep shit when Coyle took over from Megson. He's done a good job spending very little money thus far. -
Dyer was class, very flawed but still one of the best midfielders at Newcastle during my lifetime.

Looks like all the members are the same guy from the tone of their posts. Look at the claptrap in the last few posts of this thread: http://talkofthetoon.forumotion.co.uk/t116...oon-army-nearly

Yup, Henry absolutely has to be there, ahead of Drogba and Shearer though Shearer would definitely be in the best of the 90s.
-
Agreed, I think the signs were good under Hughton and but for his sacking and the Ben Arfa injury I reckon we would've finished around 8th.
-
Idiots. A great manager and decent guy gets sacked for next to nothing, the whole thing reminds me of the Hughton sacking. I just don't see how anyone is going to do a better job there with the aging backbone of the team and what may well be a finished Torres leading the line.

Newcastle United set to sign international midfielder

Hargeaves got released today -
James McCarthy yeah? Good shout, looks really promising. We havn't a hope of getting Phil Jones though, one of the big 4/5 will have him.
-
Santa Cruz is finished, injuries or whatever but he's been beyond shite since he went on loan to Blackburn. Samba would probably go to Lyon or maybe Arsenal so he's out of the picture. Blackburn probably wont go down anyway.
-
I could see Hughton taking it if offered though, even with the likes of Parker/Upson etc gone theyll still have a decent squad for the championship and at least CH is used to working with owners/chairmen who are seedy, untrustworthy fuckwits. Might be his best bet in terms of getting back into premier league management eventually.

chatting with a Hammer fan and after the initial piss taking, we were saying that if we had our way, teams like Wigan, 'Boro, Blackburn, etc. wouldn't take the place of "proper football" clubs like Forest, Leeds etc. whatever you think about them, at least they've got fans who show up and support their side. With regards to the Arsenal fans, did I hear the "official attendance" was basically indicating a full house? like 60k or something? There's no fucking way that was close to that. Bit harsh on Blackburn that, with the population they have I think they get shockingly good crowds despite having to watch dross year in year out since Hughes left. I hope Wigan go down though, mainly because I cant stand Dave Whelan.
-
He's actually a good goalkeeper with a seriously bad injury record, he's constantly injured. Gordons pretty decent when fit but thats fairly rare these days. Mignolet seems like he could be a better bet though once he's had more experience.
-
Can't believe the fuss over this issue, it's just a harmless word. Rooney's done a lot worse than this in terms of setting bad examples, not that I think we should expect him to do otherwise anyway.
-
I'd say on the whole there isn't much to choose between the two but the way Capello went about this is bizarre and incredibly stupid. If he was so intent on Terry being captain he should never have taken it away from him initially. I don't understand why someone didn't stop Capello from going back on the decision as it makes him look extremely foolish imo.

according to this guy Ashley Cole shot a member of the Chelsea backroom staff... http://twitter.com/#!/neilashton_notw

This is an easy one for me Bono The Edge Larry Mullen Adam Clayton add author Christopher Nolan, Andrew Maxwell or Damian Dempsey for the fifth the footballer would be Alan Maybury.

It just doesnt make any sense spending money on Carlton Cole when we already have no less than 3 varients of him in Shola, Best and Ranger who are either as good or not far off his own erratic level of ability.
