  1. He's not the best, not the worst, a much better backup player than Guthrie but I think his lack of pace combined with invisible man syndrome he would never be a regular.
  2. Amazing. You really have to fuck up consistently to get relegated from that league as relegation is based on performance over a couple of seasons (maybe as many as 5). Awful stuff for Argentina's most successful club.
  3. The EPL is far more open than La Liga. At this point in time Man U, Man City, Chelsea or Arsenal could all win the league next season while even Spurs and Liverpool will be dreaming of outside challenges. In La Liga its just a two horse race much like your own league, only not shit.
  4. Aye he was dire. Wouldn't be wild on SWP either I think he's also regressed massively. Bellemy for other reasons is probably unlikely too although I wouldn't be against it.
  5. Treacy is pretty rubbish from what I've seen, barely championship quality. Could only be backup I'd assume.
  6. What the hell happened here!? Turned it off when USA went 2 nil up and looked on top...
  7. Imagine spending £5m on him, an average player in a position we don't really need to strengthen. I don't mind Gibson, he's scored a few absolute belters but he's a bit slow and goes missing in games. Like a better version of Guthrie. 5 million is a bit much but considering Henderson cost 20 million its not too bad. As you say though, not the most pressing position we need new players in.
  8. There's definitely a lot more life in the post relegation squad than anything we've seen since Bobby was in charge. It's such a shame that Hughton and now Nolan are gone as I believe they were two of the main reasons for that spark.
  9. Exactly. Although I imagine that if we only bought one more senior player (which I don't think is an impossible scenario) that some of the Ashley apologists would still say we had a good summer of business.
  10. I agree with this and regretably for Newcastle fans I think you are going to be in for one long hard season under Pardew. Maybe the Brummies winning Promotion and by-passing you could be just what is required for you lot to finally get rid of Ashley??? I wish you all the best, because you are a team and set of fans I quite like to see doing well. But I really do have concerns for what might happen to yourselves and Villa possibly too this coming season. I think that Birmingham have got themselves a great deal in offloading McLeish to them and getting Hughton on board. PS. Is Smith's career finished due to injury? What kind of salary is he on for you guys too? Anyway, all the best for the coming season and I hope that you do enough to survive and move on to better things despite having Pardew holding you back! Also, I have some Newcastle Utd Fine Art Posters for sale, if you would like to take a look at them? Personally I think Smith was always overrated but after the injuries and failed attempts to convert him into a midfielder he has become beyond crap. He's on about 60k a week apparently, thats right, sixty thousand pounds.
  11. Looks like he's on his way out, and the Brummies couldn't be happier. Asked a mate about Gardener and says he's a very poor mans Lampard. Yeah don't know why anyone is interested in Gardner, he puts in the odd decent game every 3 months or so. Ranger on loan to Birmingham would be ideal alright.
  12. Tim Vickery is an excellent pundit as with a few of the world football guys that appear on the BBC and Talksport from time to time. Why don't these guys ever debate English football?
  13. Spot on. Either way there isn't much to choose between Krul and Harper so why we would persist with the 36 year old is beyond me. Give it to Krul, expect that he'll make a few mistakes and not destroy him over it, if he mucks up consistantly then give it to Forster for a while. No offence to Harper though, he's been a good servant to the club.
  14. Well he's not much use but we can't have a squad of 14 players or something so some of the peripheral guys like Guthrie have to stay. At least he can't be on much money unlike Smith.
  15. Aye I just mean when he usually hasnt got time to think he fucks up.
  16. Absolutely loved that, was great to see him do something spontaneous and not shit.
  17. Krancjar was used as a full back once or twice when everyone else was injured basically. He'd be decent for no more than 3 million or so.
  18. I think we could get Shawcross in theory and I rate him. As with many of our recent decisions/purchases etc, it would still be a big risk if hes replacing Colo.
  19. Barton is a better footballer Would love to see Catts gan through the little scumbag in the opening minute Cattermole doesn't have the bottle, or the technical ability to get anywhere near Barton My dog would kill your dog etc etc
  20. He refused a pay as you play deal at Spurs this month so it's a non starter. Woodgate obviously realizes that would mean he'd make a grand total of absolutely nothing in wages.
  21. I was a lurker on some other forum that was rubbish, had a bit of a google and found this one (which at the time was awash with posts from FOP).
  22. Way too many assumptions going on. Will Ba/Marveaux stay fit let alone be good and settle in? If not then hurrah for more Shola. Will Cabaye be as useful as Nolan or Barton or whoever he's replacing. Will Jose/Colo/Barton etc actually be here. Far too many ifs at this point to have any idea how next season will shape up.
