Exactly what I said here, but it seems people don't know what the meaning is....I started this thread. http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...mp;#entry800035 Bellemy is/was class. Personally I wouldn't quite put him in the world class bracket mainly to do with his personality/injuries rather than anything else. The great thing about Bellemy is that no matter how bad his team is playing he just gets on with it and almost always plays well. That being said, the fact he's never lasted very long anywhere tells its own story.

There's a real misconception that if you download an album/movie etc that you would have bought it otherwise. That being said, it is becoming increasingly difficult to make a living as a musician because of the download culture. The same is happening to authors now as well where it was already near extremely difficult to do so.

Bridge is finished and wouldn't be cheap.

Apparently Mata and his agent are in London to talk to Arsenal. Replacement for Nasri or Fabregas or both...

I think people are a bit harsh on Mancini. Regardless of the money he's had he's done OK there and put together a decent Inter Milan team before. As for Tevez and Balotelli, they've always been unpredictable characters and they've both performed well on the pitch most of the time. The football they play is fairly dire but with Aguero added to the attack it might prove to be very effective.

He was only 18/19 when he was at Spurs (before the loans) and seeing how Harry has about 78 midfielders there its no wonder he couldnt break through. He does seem like an arrogant prick like, but I think he would be a fantastic signing all the same.

Erdinc hasn't been mentioned in this thread for 5 pages

Wenger said today that he sees Gibbs as Clichy's replacement (which if true is mental as Gibbs gets injured every time he plays). So in theory that might be Arsenal out of the running for his services at least...
-
Ooooof! wouldnt mind being proved wrong on that though, rather Arsenal do well than the others but if they have another trophyless/bad season I can't see him carrying on.
-
The way things are going for Arsenal with Fabregas, Clichy and possibly Nasri on the way out and no signings so far I reckon they could be in for a really bad season (I imagine Wenger will buy one centre back like Cahill and think thatll be enough). I'll predict this to be Wenger's last season as Arsenal manager.

From what I've seen recently women's football has come on quite a bit, less of the 13-7 type scorelines and appauling keepers. Looks like the refs arent up to much though...

Just like making up stupid words/phrases and I'm pretty sure I was fairly woebegone with newcastle when I signed up. I signed up mid FOP madness and found the whole place to be thoroughly insane because of it.

On that note, Chronicle is saying we're not in for Sturridge despite Villas-Boas claiming he's available from £6 million. Can't believe we won't try. If that's true then Pardew, Ashley etc are even more clueless than I thought. Surely with the current going rate for young English players Sturridge would be 10 million at the very least.

People getting upset by words always amuses me. Oh no NOT WORDS!!!!

Aye he's streets ahead of Guthrie imo (Ferguson once said he had potential to be future Man U captain - if that's of any relevance). Has scored some absolute screamers as well and maybe given a run in a team could become a poor man's Lampard. Guthrie gets a lot of bashing but I'd be happy to keep him as backup so Gibson really shouldn't be a priority.

Seen him 5-6 times on TV and once in person at SJP (where he was the best player on the park by a mile). He's totally unproven as a top level player, but such is the nature of the current transfer market. The potential there is huge though. Same. Seen him on sky a good few times last season, actually watched the Ipswich game just to see what this lad was about and then again at St James Park. Like Stevie said i also see alot of Rooney in him, he's skillful and can move a bit and he's just got that "wonderkid" look about him on the pitch. Personally i think we go to Ipswich and say here is 8mil upfront and possibly a 2mil add on if he scores 10 in his first season here. I'd probably like us to offer a similar kind of deal for Sturridge too. I know people will disagree but if we got them two and no other strikers i'd still be VERY happy and optimistic going into the new season. Sturridge and Barfa as first choice, Wickham, Ba and Shola as backup/impact players. I think most would be more than happy with that, but both deals seem unlikely, especially Sturridge.
