Ah that's a bit shit. One of the reasons I like toontastic is because this sort of thing didn't tend to go on. That thread should have been made gold never mind not locked. Also, if we're going to lock all the threads that go off topic there will be literally none left. -
Bruce pissing Mackem money away?

Things are by no means perfect but anyone who thinks we'll be in a relegation battle is mental as far as I'm concerned. We're sure fire mid table imo. -
You have to put it in perspective though. Im not saying he would - even in the best of circumstances - would be anything other than a average Left back. Im saying compared to Ryan Taylor he could turn out to be excellent. Compared being the operative word here. Agree to an extent. Raylor is a midfielder/right back (or maybe not an actual footballer) playing at left back so if we're going to play someone out of position then Jonas might do a less awful job of it. Such a plan may well go tits up though and we lose the free kick threat by leaving Raylor out.

Dwayne Dibley. Damien Duff How'd I not get Duff? Mind, that doesn't say much for Duff's influence does it? And let's not forget Daniel Dichio

3 times? Andrey Kanchelskis, who I also share my birthday with on the subject of pointless information.

Aye, Richardson is miles ahead of Raylor now that you mention it. Would agree with the OP to the extent that we have a better overall starting 11 though. -

Sessegnon is decent. Otherwise I think we're slightly better in most areas. -
QPR v NUFC - Monday 12th September. Live on Sky (8pm kick-off)

Too much negativity. We played shite but we won't play that bad every week. Still reckon we'll finish somewhere like 9th. Positives - Defence looks very solid apart from Raylor We somehow didn't lose Raylor will probably be dropped now for Santon Ba should start the next game -
Obertan: Earths' gravity is no match for him.

Don't think we should give up on him just yet. He might just need longer to settle into playing regularly in this league. He has been utter gash so far though. -

Saylor has really come on leaps and bounds lately. Always thought he might (still acts like a prick of course but that can't be helped). Reminds me of Carragher when he was younger. As for the other Taylor, good free kicks are not enough to warrant a starting place. Must go with Santon next game. -

Ridiculous idea. Imagine being the black guy in the interview for the Chelsea job or whatever, knowing you're there just to make up the numbers, that's more racist and downright humiliating than the existing situation. As for whether there is discrimination regarding managerial jobs in football I think it has far more to do with preconceived notions of what is a supposedly good manager. It's the same reason why English coaches regardless of skin colour rarely if ever get big jobs anymore. When people think what is a successful manager they either think stylish foreign guy or gruff old Scottish guy. So when a black manager such as Paul Ince fails as he did at Blackburn it just reaffirms that preconception further. It's a very difficult situation but once there is a really successful black British manager things will start to change but it will be very slow. It's such a shame for Hughton that he was at this bonkers club. If he hadn't been sacked I could have imagined he would go on to get Redknapps job after he fucks off to the England job.

these old threads are bringing back terrible flashbacks of Fop and Baggio. All we need is a DannyB thread to resurface.

nah HF, what I posted was the reasons why I thought the old board would be difficult to replace with better, at the time, largely ignored and disagreed with by almost everybody, but proved now to be absolutely correct, and the basis of my early [correct] assessment of Ashley. Anyway, its OK for YOU to harp on about old posts though It is based on actions and comments that I had witnessed for decades prior to 1992, you can't beat experience mate Leazes, why does it matter what you said or thought 5 years ago? Who cares if Dr Gloom or whoever it was thought Ashley might be better than Fred but was wrong? I'd rather people like that changed their tune over time than rigidly stuck to their belief despite the mountain of evidence to the contrary of their opinions (ala Deano). The way you go on you'd think this place was full of Ashley apologists when most people here hate the cunt. Shepherd was a flawed chairman but undoubtedly better than Ashley in hindsight, no one could have accurately predicted what would happen one way or the other back then.
