  1. Whatever happened to Rob W? Not that I want him back...
  2. The Fish should just rice above it tbh
  3. Best is nothing special but he does have a knack of being in the right place at the right time and getting the odd goal. Granted, even those have dried up for him of late but to celebrate his injury considering the other options is a bit silly. I really think he's ok in terms of backup.
  4. i think it's goodish, patchy but better than most of the shite out there
  5. much improved from his last couple of seasons of utter dross but still nowhere near the level he was at in his early days at Man City.

  7. Not really of any importance but Villa have just released Beye.
  8. No they don't. Good lord do we actaully still own Xisco? thought we sold him permanently ages ago.
  9. We're a selling club because ashley lied to the fans, lied to Keegan and changed the name of the ground? That's what you have basically just argued. I do agree that Ashley could be more ambitious but as that is limited to about £10 to £15m of spending thats no guarantee of moving us even one position up the league. People like you are not able to look at things objectively so you accuse people of 'defending ashley' when the reality is just that people think the club has made progress on the pitch. That's a hard nose impartial 'analysis' that can be made without an opinion on the owner. When people are arguing this maybe it comes over to you as defending ashley but I don't think that is the case for most people, I think it's just accepting the evidence of their eyes so far. I respect your view that the outlook is negative but in the interests of fairness it should be accepted by you and others that it's just a prediction for now with evidence running against it currently. For some reason, the likes of Leazes and Brummiemag assume that even the slightest praise of the Ashley regime means we all love Mike and think the club is looking forward to decades of champions league football. Truth is, most are just applauding that for a change, we've bought wisely, sold players at the right time and replaced them with equal, or better quality whilst enjoying the improved fortunes on the pitch.
  10. It's pretty much every player at it in the el classico games though. It's actually become really tedious to watch.
  11. Gary Glitter has supposedly joined Twitter: http://www.nme.com/n...y-glitter/61533 Here's a little snippet of his Twitter activity thus far (replying to Barton): https://twitter.com/...056209855086592
  12. where the "flash in the pan" option???? My guess is 59 pts.
  13. Just read the comments, it seems it was actually a girl trying to look like "Drake" whoever that is and someone just re-uploaded it with the Leon Best title/slideshow added.
  14. Most enjoyable season (so far) since Robson was in charge I would say.
  15. Exactly. What the fuck is the point in following a football club if you can't enjoy the decent/good times?
  16. I agree, but it's very difficult to consistantly sell high and buy low with good results. Arsenal have managed to do it incredibly well over the years but I don't know of any other club in England that has pulled that off over a considerable length of time. Anyway, I really think the important thing is to enjoy what is happening while it lasts. There'll be plenty of twists and turns this season but I really believe that we will finish 7th. There's a decent chance that this will mean Europe and this should be seen as good progress considering where we have been in recent years (under both Ashley and the latter days of Shepherd).
  17. Yes but to be fair to Leazes he is (sort of) saying that the money taken in for those players should be completely reinvested in new signings. Is that so outrageous? (in reply to toonpack not CT)
  18. Yeah, and several of their recent additions are temporary in Friedel (ancient), Adebayor (loan) and to a lesser extent Parker. They're doing well though as much as I loathe them.
  19. Yeah, they spunked loads on players like Bentley (not to mention the buying back of people like Keane, Kaboul etc). I've read Bale was 5 rising to ten in several sources. Their current squad cost far less than the other big 6 (apart from Arsenal) though.
  20. To be fair to Spurs, their current squad actually didn't cost that much, the nucleas was relatively inexpensive Friedel (Free) Walker (4.5 m) Essou Ekotto (3.5m) King (nowt) Dawson (4m) Bale (5 million rising to 10 with add ons) Parker (5 million) VDV (8 million) Lennon (1.5 million) Modric (16 mi - the only key player in their usual first XI who cost over ten million) Adebayor (loan) Though they spent quite a lot on flops like Pavluchenko and Gomes who haven't worked out.
  21. To be fair though, 7th place is realistic wouldn't you think? This season 7th could well be a european spot.
