  2. Took about 10 seconds tbh, I just entered 'Patronising Twat' in the search engine and it was the first result. Wasnt asking how long it took or how you did it pal! Just the very fact you did it speaks volumes to me about you! Oh of course I recognise your name now! We have crossed swords before havent we! I presume you came offf second best judging by your unwarranted and juvenile abuse!
  3. Jesus you actually looked for that? I'm not allowed to have a change of heart? Ever noticed that some people get married because they love each other then three years later they are divorced and hate each others guts! Get a life outside cyber space pal!!!
  4. Seems to me that Ashley is taking every opportunity to hit the fans where it hurts since his family was threatened with violence after KK was sacked. He has systematically sold every player with whom the fans have struck up a rapore, i.e. Carroll, Enrique, Nolan, Barton to name a few. We all know that next out the door in january will be Colo and possibly Jonas and maybe even Tiote too. We have had 8 months to find a new number 9 but we have consistently bid below the asking price so failure was virtually guaranteed. We are now without a number 9 and it strikes me that Ashley must know how important it is for the fans to have an iconic number 9 who they can worship. What better way to take even further revenge on the fans by simply not replacing the number 9. In my book Ashley has effectively retired the number 9 shirt out of spite!
  5. Same old same old. We work ourselves into a frenzy speculating who we are going to bring in whilst the club has absolutely no intention whatsoever of signing any more players. Pardew will have been told he has to sell a striker before he can bring another one in' and as far as I know we have had no enquiries for Best, and although Ranger may go later on tonight it will be too late to bring in a replacement (sounds a familiar scenario doesnt it).

  7. I broke the bones in my hand/wrist playing football several years ago. I had to have a manipulative operation under general anaesthetic and was in plaster for 9 weeks, so Vuckic could be out for some time, although his break may not be as bad as mine was.
  8. No recognised left back! No decent strikers! No real creativity and virtually no shots on goal against the Arse. I'm afraid a 3-0 defeat is the likely outcome on saturday as much as it pains me to say it!
  9. In light of the news that the first team squad has suddenly agreed the bonus scheme offered by the board, I suspect the players who have been shipped out were the ones who refused to agree to the bonus scheme with Enrique being the last dissenter!
  10. Didn't Pardew say that Enrique had been offered the best contract that has been offered to any of the players at the club or words to that effect. To my mind that doesn't necessarily mean he has been offered a better contract. It just means, for example that if he was on 40k per week in his current contract, they have simply offered the same money, which is more than any of the other players have been offered when renegotiating contracts. The club have clearly put a spin on the contract offer to make him seem greedy by turning down their best contract offer, but Pardew has let slip that in all likliehood he is being asked to stay on the same money.
  11. We won the FA Cup 18 days after I was born in 1951. Beat a Blackpool team containing Sir Stanley Matthews and Stan Mortenson, 2-0 both goals scored by wor jackie!
  12. All you Shepherd apologists are bonkers! The bloke drove the club to the brink of administration and after the fake sheik debacle he was "persona non grata" in Newcastle, but now because Ashley has displeased some by refusing to spend big and has instead concentrated on putting the club on course to becoming that rarest of things in EPL fooball, namely a profit making organisation, you would all have Shepherd back so he can borrow the club into extinction again and line his own and his families pockets with dubious warehouse deals etc. Mental absolutely mental!
  13. What gets me is the very real likeliehood that Capello approached Carroll the last time he was with the England squad for the France friendly and suggested it would be a lot easier to follow his current form if he was at one of the clubs that he visits on a regular basis to follow the established England players!
  14. The trouble with Pardew is the club have gambled on him turning out to be a miracle worker, after all if a mere first team coach (Hughton) can get the club promoted from the championship with a massive points haul at the first time of asking and with zero outlay, then a recognised manager should at the very least be able to get the club into europe, even with one hand tied behind his back. Can anyone spot the flaw in this reasoning?
  15. Hughton: Played 16 Won 5 Drew 4 Lost 7 = 19 points Pardew: Played 14 Won 4 Drew 5 Lost 5 = 17 points. Not much of an improvement in my book, certainly doesn't seem to have taken the club to a different level as argued when Hughton was sacked and Pardew appointed. Unless of course that level is a relegation level in which case target well and truly achieved. Its quite unbelievable how Ashley and Llambias have managed to turn an exceedingly promising season into a truly disastrous one which may well culminate in relegation, which was far from likely under Hughton.
  16. The whole ground and the Leazes End (in particular) used to do that before YNWA was thieved (typical) to become the "red-scouse anthem". They didn't invent it, although you'd think they did They were also the dirtiest bunch of cunts ever to play, worse than vintage Leeds IMO and Shock Horror, I agree with LM on something: I hate to say this, but if you disagree that they are "perceived as being bigger" [your words too] because they have actually made themselves this by their very actions, you are a very sad blind person. You'll never walk alone is adopted from the musical "Carousel", by Rodgers and Hammerstein. Liverpool were the first set of supporters I personally heard sing that, adopted from Gerry and the Pacemakers ie the Mersey sound of the early 60's and I went to my first game in 1964. Not that I'm defending them, but it always makes me laugh when people re-write history like this. Liverpool were not a dirty team under Shankly, no way. I am reliably informed by my Manu supporting Londoner colleague that "You'll never walk alone" was appropriately first sung by ManU fans at their first game after the Munich air crash, which was against Sheffield Wednesday. It was only later adopted by the scousers because of the Gerry and the Pacemakers link. On a lighter note, I was once browsing a footie forum where a Liverpool fan was arguing long and hard that the song was penned by Gerry and the Pacemakers As for Liverpool not being a dirty team under Shankly, have you forgotten about Tommy Smith? maybe ManU fans did sing it, not many people would know that, if its true, I certainly didn't, but Gerry and the Pacemakers adopted it as part of the Mersey sound so if Liverpool football fans adopt it as their clubs anthem I really don't see why anybody has a problem with that , other than being petty and small minded. Its no big deal. "Penned by Gerry and the Pacemakers".....its the same sort of principle as a stupid NUFC supporter thinking NUFC had always been challenging at the top of the premiership and its Big Bad Freds fault that we aren't doing it anymore, like ASM for instance I certainly haven't forgotten Tommy Smith at all, even Toonpack correctly says the game was tougher - and not so athletic or fast - in those days, every team had a hard man or even two. Chelsea has Ron Harris, we had John McNamee and Ollie Burton who kicked a few people even though they are both real gents in real life.......was Tommy Smith harder than McNamee ? Not a chance. Alex Ferguson was shit scared of McNamee, and Gary Sprake was terrified of him. Liverpool upheld all the games best under Shankly. Leeds were the dirtiest team by far, with Norman Hunter, Jack Charlton, Johnny Giles and Allan Clarke especially, they had more than most and applied all the dirty tricks in the book to go with it. I think you must mean Alex Stepney yes? As to leeds being the dirtiest team I completely agree with you, Billy Bremner was no shrinking violet either although Giles was particularely dirty going over the top of the ball and jumping into tackles with both feet off the ground on numerous occasions that I recall! I loved watching McNamee "play" and as you correctly say, many star players were terrified of him, indeed you could see them exchanging looks of real concern when Joe harvey used to bring him on as a sub. Happy days indeed!

  18. I dislike Liverpool with an intensity born out of working with a Scouser in the 1990's who constantly used to fall back on the "what has your little club ever won" when he was losing a football argument. I have despised them ever since and rejoice when they lose. I hate the accent and having reluctantly spent a fortnight there on a business course, it is the only city in the UK where I have felt unsafe in the town at night. Its full of bloody druggies, alcoholics, prostitutes and low life criminals, and I don't scare easily! Part of my disappoinment at seeing Carroll leave NUFC was made even worse by the knowledge that he was also making the hated Liverpool stronger. I can never forgive Carroll for that. He has made his bed now he has to lie in it. Fair enough if he says soon that when he has seen out his contract at Liverpool he wants to rejoin NUFC, then I can live with that, but I imagine he will be off to Reall Madrid/Barca in a few years. You can rest assured that once he does start banging them in for Liverpool it will be because their coaches have made him a better player than he was at NUFC. They are so arrogant.
  19. Turning the club into a laughing stock, the bastard. Assaulting its funds, the bastard. Seeing it as a product to make money out of, the bastard. The fans had a big part in turning the club into a laughing stock by their hysterical reaction to KK being sacked! It was like a child screaming because it had had its favourite toy taken away! As far as I know Ashley has (or had) a mother and father and so there is no basis whatsoever for the accusation of him being a bastard. There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever to support these wild and unsubstantiated accusations that Ashley has assaulted the clubs funds, nor is there any evidence that he sees the club as a source to make money. On the contrary it is perfectly clear it has been a drain upon his own personal fortune, hence his decision that the club should operate within its resources like any other business or household should do. After what KK had done for this club the fans reaction to him being treated like shit was 100% justified and the only person who responded in a hysterical way was Ashley, who immediately issued a self indulgent rant and put the club up for sale. It might have passed you by but loyalty is the basis of any football club. Keegan earned our loyalty, Ashley is exploiting it. The money Ashley has loaned the club since he bought it has been used to protect his investment in lieu of his many mistakes. He hasn’t taken any out yet because there’s been nothing to take out. Loaning the club his money so he can then take it out again would almost be as stupid as your post. You still have to support my proposition that he has not taken any money out of the club. However, it seems to be your proposition that once it is making a profit he will take money out of the club.I would reiterate you have no evidence whatsoever to support this view. One could just as easily take the view that all the future profit the club makes will be spent on bringing in the cream of the worlds players. I have no evidence to support this view, but it is just as valid a view as yours! That’s right; as is your supposition there is no definitive evidence what he’ll do when the club starts making a profit. There was a report recently suggesting we’ll make a profit this season and this forecast didn’t include the Carroll money, so perhaps in two years when next season’s accounts are published we’ll get to know the truth. As always we’re all left guessing what lies in store under Ashley’s ownership. However, the basic premise of a loan is that the money will be repaid and he has no known record of philanthropy. Nobody is saying he is a philanthropist. If he was I'd be very worried indeed because he would just be throwing money at the problem without fixing it. As it is we are very well positioned now for the rule changes to be phased in over the next three years that state the club must operate within its turnover (or something along those lines). This is probably why Liverpool and Chelsea have blown vast amounts now for Carroll, Suarez and Torres, because it means with amortisation the players values will have dropped to within their turnover in three years time. I think Carroll signed a 5 and a half year contract or 5 years from this summer, meaning his value will decrease by £21 million over three years so his value will only be £14m which will probably be affordable within their turnover, especially if they have qualified for europe by then. Likewise, if Torres signed a 5 year deal his value will only be £20m in 3 years time which will again be affordable against turnover especially with european money thrown in!

  22. Love the way the newspaper headline was along the lines of "Ashley guns down fan", meaning all NUFC fans would think it was referring to Mike Ashley! Anything to sell a paper eh!
  23. Indeed we will. Sign them up to long term contracts and then you can demand a bigger transfer fee. Which narrows down the number of potential suitors to those you can do fuck all about anyway and even then it's gonna cost them and maybe make them think twice. So you don't deny that's FMA's intentions then? Seriously man you need to give your head a shake. Those that are likely to come in for him are the clubs occupying the top 6 places. And not one of them will think twice about financial outlay if they feel he'll vastly improve their squad. I can honestly see Man Utd interested in him given the state of their central midfield. Still the right move for the club though Craig. Toonpack is correct when he says their is little you can do if silly money and champions league clubs come knocking. At the very least you want to make sure if that happens we get the best price possible surely. are you still conceding inferiority to the likes of Liverpool and Spurs ? Try not to derail a positive thread for once. relevant comment that needs an answer tbh. Your a one trick pony bore mate. Lifes too short for your ilk. more irony. You might think we are inferior to the likes of Liverpool and Spurs, but some of us don't. The club should be aiming to get above these teams asap. Couldn't agree more! If we keep selling our best players to the likes of Liverpool, we simply make them stronger and ourselves weaker. I have no doubt that if we had kept AC, Liverpool would not be where they are now in the league, despite him not playing. It just gave Liverpool a massive lift which produced results on the field. Hopefully we will see the same in the summer if we get Enrique, Barton and Colo signed up and we bring in some quality players to give the lads a huge lift and a belief that they can and should be challenging for the CL.
  24. Did you lift that from the Viz's 'Top Tips' section? No I didn't! Try to remember that a few hundred forum members posting 500 or even 1000 pages of "not wanting to sell our top players", is still only representative of a piffling few hundred fans, as opposed to 45,000 season ticket holders who will have their wishes ignored if they don't put in writing what they expect. In my experience most people just pay lip service to e-mails, and even less to chat forums, but 45,000 well composed letters sitting on the desk of the ticket office actually makes quite a tangible and forceful statement of what fans expectations are!
