Social media has a large part to play, but also don’t discount decades of Tory rule and culture. When I was on the rigs, is really hit home how much of a generational divide there was in selfishness and political outlook. My generation and the lads older than me were overwhelmingly left leaning, to varying degrees. The younger lads, 40 odd and below, were almost exclusively a pack of cunts Obsessed with money and property, very much “Fuck you, I’m alright Jack!” when discussing shared workspace ( e.g.plumbers working below us - they’ll be there for 4 shifts, we’d be there for 3, they’d kick off if they were stood down in favour of us ( unless they had an old school gaffer) constantly whining about immigration and taxes. The societal selfishness has been there a long time now, it’s ingrained in so many working class lads that it’s depressing, social media has just made it easier to see.

I’ve reached poll saturation- I’m still backing Harris, albeit by a narrower margin than I maybe expected. Assuming a win for her, that leaves Trump a busted flush - 2 time loser and I’d expect his coming downfall to be both rapid and spectacular. He’s already lost control of his bowels, his mental acuity is clearly on a downward spiral, and I think he’ll see the truth of the old adage about the way you treat people on the way up is reflected in how they treat you as you meet them on your way down- they’re already dumping him like a bad smell. Anyone implicated in his criminal activities with him will be preparing their plea deals to spill their guts. His political allies, those that aren’t bankrupted, jailed or dead, are deserting him already. Melania’s divorce papers must be burning a hole in her pocket by now. The post-Trump Republican Party will be the equivalent of post Ferguson Manure, a succession of increasingly desperate failures trying to replace the Big Man, until they eventually realise that extremism isn’t going to work for them in the long run. It’ll take them longer than 4 years to work this out though. ( I’d also say, that given his propensity for self-preservation, it wouldn’t come as too much of a shock if Putin decided to “silence” his former asset before he also spills his guts to try and keep himself out of jail). Which means, I reckon, that Harris will be a two-term President. It’s an opportunity to shift the gender imbalance at the top of the US political tree. Because, ( and here’s the point of my post), let’s be honest, the state of American political fanny has been woeful for the last decade at least! Hillary and Taylor-Greene are like visual Bromide. Palin and Boebert, whilst definitely in the “would” camp, are such rancid personalities that they’re relegated to the Emergency Hate Wank division. Pelosi is like a Ford Cortina MkIII- would’ve been a great ride in her day but has been firmly in the Special Interest Enthusiast category for decades. AOC has been an oasis in a vast desert. She should be a shoo-in for Secretary of State for Jiggly Buttz and Swanging Tiddies. But who are the Upcoming BYB* we can expect to brighten the halls of power? I am firmly of the belief that he only ran this time to try get in and give himself a pardon- he showed little interest in the actual job last time he was in. I genuinely hope that as soon as it’s reasonably clear that he’s lost, he is classed as a flight risk in his numerous criminal cases and has his passport taken. I’d love to see him get sent down, it’s unlikely, but let’s be honest- events in the US haven’t been predictable for a while now. I do wonder what his cult will do once he’s either banged up or dead, maybe start wearing orange suits or coffins, whichever is appropriate? It’ll be interesting to see what the Republicans do when he loses- will they continue to back a two-time loser? You’d hope the more reasonable amongst them might see that he’s poison, but then, they’ve all been sidelined by his cult members. I’m also curious to see how Harris responds to whatever sentence he gets? I don’t think him losing will see any insurrection like last time, but a sentence of jail time could light the powder in the crazies camps again. He just needs to fucking die, sharpish, for the good of everyone
