  1. Even at the shitty Sunday league level we played at (same core players for about 15 years) where the defensive line should be was the thing we argued most about. It cropped at our annual Christmas piss up too, we’ve not played for the best part of twenty years
  2. 😳 https://www.britannica.com/topic/stigmata
  3. Earlier this month I said a keeper was a priority but now accept that it’s highly unlikely we get one with a similar skill set and quality as Pope in this or virtually any other January window. I was harsh on Dubs around the Spurs/Everton games when he first came in but he has improved hugely since then and was great at the weekend. But we’re now seeing Pope’s true worth to the side 👍
  4. So that space that De Bruyne ran into for his goal, do we think that space is a lot smaller if Pope is stood at the edge of his area and Sven & Fab are 7-10 yards further up the pitch? 🤔 for me that does have KDB running down a blind alley because I think Sven easily gets a tackle in but there would be a massive gap in behind for Man City to exploit..
  5. Aye gives us a chance to give Fulham a firm fuckin pulverising in the cup
  6. Eddie Howe should sort that though, it’s all on him 🤷🏻‍♂️😒
  7. Good read. Brings into sharp focus injury issues https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle-eddie-howe-premier-league-season-b2478461.html
  8. “ Xg prevented” graphic applying to goal keepers graphic just appeared on Sky before kick off… what the fuckin hell are they trying to suggest with that bullshit? Asking for a (close) friend Oh Hojland has scored
  9. Naah it’s bollocks. Some foetus who wouldn’t know the Gallowgate End from his own bell end on Twitter told me it’s because Eddie Howe is a child murderer who hasn’t got a plan B 🤷🏻‍♂️😒
  10. You’d think bringing in a keeper of equivalent attributes and quality to Pope is virtually impossible this window. Dubs has improved hugely mind in the last few weeks…it’s not his natural game to push up to the edge of his box though
  11. Is there something in this?…. might at least partly explain why this has been happening. Thing is if you’ve got a 6 in there to stop the likes of this you lose something in the press
  12. 34 years ago today…lots walked out at 2-4 with 20 mins to go…
  13. Do not go gentle into that good Nightingale , Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light…
  14. KCG is a bit busy but he says to tell you “ dinna fash yersels ya cunts I’ll be with ye in twa shakes o a lambs tail, ken?”
  15. As my good friend and colleague @Rayvin would point out at this juncture the last governmental cycle failed from the centre and we ended up with Brexit and the fascist adjacent appointed to be Home Secretary twice. So am not sure how I feel at this point
  16. Quite balanced that, the fact that Sheikh Mansoor wants to buy the Daily Telegraph notwithstanding
  17. Put it on YouTube with an amusing and audience relevant graphic or video? no need to thank me, I am above such petty niceties ☺️
  18. Who does Pod on the Tyne? Is it the one with the pet nufc journos and some social media gimp? 🤷🏻‍♂️🤔
  19. Yeah. You’d imagine if we’re taking PiF at their word they’re challenging that in the courts as anti competitive very soon. But there’s no indication whatsoever that they’re even thinking about it…
  20. 2014: Brendan Rodgers is Liverpool manager. He wants a new striker as he’s just sold Suarez to Barcelona. He gets Mario Balotelli 2015: Steven Gerrard leaves, goes to MLS 2018: Klopp is manager, he sells Coutinho to Barca and signs VVD & Allison. 2019: Liverpool win champions league 2020: Liverpool win league title So Liverpool had to beat Man City and Chelsea to get these two big prizes at the end. 6 years on from a massive downgrade in selling Suarez and bringing in Balotelli who’d already been deemed not good enough at Man City. The Liverpool squad in 14/15 beggars belief tbh: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014–15_Liverpool_F.C._season I don’t know where you put us in that timeline but it’s either 2014 or not long after. I personally don’t buy the sensationalist headlines from Hope et al. That’s not really what Eales said in the interview. What I’m trying to say is I suppose we need to have some patience and certainly don’t take things in the media at face value. If Bruno does get sold we’re going to have his replacement (he may actually be at the club already) and proper improvement on others lined up. This is now a professional outfit. I’ve put the LFC timeline up and shown how quickly (or slowly depending how you look at it) things can turn round….
  21. So it looks like the UK are now directly intervening in the civil war in Yemen…
