  1. NEW SIGNING KLAXON!!! https://theathletic.com/5221944/2024/01/23/newcastle-transfer-alfie-harrison-man-city/?source=user_shared_article
  2. The obligation to buy was the thing iyam. Don’t blame them tbh when every pound is a prisoner due to FFP
  3. Tbf Kulkarni whether you agree with him or like him suffers from the same disadvantage as all critics … if you’re paid to come up with an opinion on something you absolutely will come up with something to say, and therein lies the problem for me. Some of it sounds forced, and it absolutely is all completely subjective. If you listen to the pod the hatred most of them (all bar the host Al are ex MM) have for the NME journalists who in the 90s went straight from the NME to the BBC in some way or other is fuckin visceral and it undoubtedly drove some of NK’s content as the Britpop article illustrates.
  4. You’re too cool for school one for you…
  5. 7 mill to get them into Europa? Will 5/6 /7 in premier league pay for that? Or are they banking on 5th being CL? … who are they dropping so he can play regular? Paqueta? Ward Prowse?
  6. @Alex @spongebob toonpants How many of these do you own? (Am on 5 ) https://neilk.substack.com/p/the-ten-most-overrated-albums-in-pop-history-2447055f20e3
  7. Very likely won’t mean a lot to many on here but the music journo Neil Kulkarni has died. He was also one of the main contributors to the Chart Music pod, much beloved of @spongebob toonpants and myself . He was from Coventry and wrote this when Terry Hall died. RIP Neil https://thequietus.com/articles/32486-terry-hall-obituary-the-specials
  8. Which Miggy does 🤷🏻‍♂️…. after a fashion Interesting that in this little exchange that an upgrade would appear to be the very best practitioners of wing craft in recent times. Makes you think
  9. Theyre getting rid of all the top shaggers
  10. How much game time do you think he’ll get? 🤔 They appear to play in east Africa rather than Saudi
  11. That’s true but it’s a little bit weird we were linked with Kimmich before the Tripper thing started… likely nothing but if we’re in the market for a midfielder….
  12. Lots of big accounts on X blaming either Brexit or net zero.. all agenda driven bollocks. Tata wanted to close Port Talbot and the rest of British Steel and this government has bunged them 500 mill to do so. No significant steel making capability now in the country that used to build ships for the whole world. That’s tragic not to mention dangerous from a manufacturing security point of view. What if China/Russia/some other set of cunts try to blockade imports? 😒
  13. So we’ve signed up for net zero after we’ve left the EU. It’s nothing to do with Brexit. If you’re against losing 3k jobs (who isn’t?) fair enough but Farage and his pre Brexit bullshit have little to do with it. His comments are irrelevant. It’s on Tata and the present government as far as I can make out. Of course the jumped up little fascist is now making capital from it but that’s bollocks too. Tata have apparently run the fuckin place into the ground deliberately…
  14. Tata are closing the blast furnaces and removing them then building allegedly greener electric arc furnaces to replace them . Unions have put forward a proposal to keep one open (and the associated jobs) whilst the other one is being sorted. The uk government have given Tata £500 mill to achieve this. Tata obviously rejected the union proposal. Regardless of Brexit removing various EU trade protections over steel production that are in place across the whole bloc am not sure if Tata’s motivations and intentions are anything at all to do with whether the UK is in the EU or not. Is net zero an EU aspiration or did a Tory government decide unilaterally that it was a good idea?…
  15. Thats unreal… at least Brown thought he was in private before he abused a member of the public…. this fucker hasn’t even got the decency to wait and listen to someone in the first place
