Because they think they still need it? I assume youre in favor of scrapping trident as Britain can't afford it? Yes. I dont think we need Trident nuclear carrying submarines, no. We have enough land based nuclear missiles to put off invaders. (I think both Labour and Conservatives agree btw which is why the decision keeps getting fudged along from one government to the next). Where in the country are the uk's land based nuclear weapons then? I think you might find the only deterrent we have are sat on board two or 3 submarines. Are you suggesting that Pakistan and India can afford a deterrant but we cant?

Conservatives out there, what's the British economy like?
PaddockLad replied to Irrelevant Nick KP's topic in General Chat
Nick, thats not the same question asked twice, thats two different questions. -
That's a very good pont. It is, and it means who gets allocated just goes straight to "loyalty points". As said by most, an appalling decision but is anyone that surpised coming from these fuckers? And to jamouse who's claiming that it will stop fans misbehaving as the club will be able to identify them...the last time there were mags' mugshots in the Chron there was at least 2 season ticket holders amongst them.

Why is it Arsenal won one double and an FA cup between the mid fifties and 86 when George Graham turned up and none of their then fans were whingeing about "won nothing for x years"? They're entitled to win the square root of fuck all, same as us, unless they earn it. Their sense of entitlement is a mystery to me or anyone else who can remember them boring the shit out of everyone for decades. The media and luvvie types love them because they're manager is a "sophisticated French philosopher blah blah...". So fuckin what?...sure on a good day they're great to watch, but recently "Wengerball" has been exposed as passionless tippy tappy pointlessness as it's stopped being able to overwhelm teams who are a bit physical with them.

Fair one, so do you hate the Iggy/New York Dolls Primals most, or the Acid House/Weatherall ones, or the Black Crowes/Stones ones the most?....there is a lot to really have a go at about them... Their stuff from the late nineties onwards (since Mani took up bass duties) has been consistently pretty good iyam. Tbh, I've seen them twice before and Gillespie's live vocals are, being charitable, shite. But am looking forward to seeing them locally.....no more than half an hour on the train

I think we are one of the first top division clubs in the last 20 years who are truly living withion our means....with mountains of cash to spare too. If we do manage to stay up next season it will be a small miracle for all the wrong reasons (its more than possible if key players stay fit for most of the season iyam) and will only encourage Ashley to attempt to continue treading water for the next decade or so. Is this why ST prices have been frozen for 10 years?...

miaow! I'd like to slate the musical taste of your youth but as you are more than likely still in it do you think you'll be wanting to see any of your current favourites in 20 years time?....

Yup me too. Saw them at Olympia doing the old and it was magnificent. They are also their own support act playing 40 minutes of "greatest hits" Seeing them again in Brighton on the 22cnd. Cant wait Was tellling a 23 year old from Glasgow at work today that am off to see the Scream Team at the end of this month....he said he'd never fuckin heard of them!! http://www.campbestival.net/media/Camp-Bes..._1310398212.jpg

I think Brooks will,in her own way, 'plead the fifth' as the yanks call it. She has to appear as shes a uk citizen, but can't be forced to answer as shes under police investigation. In the states if you appear before a senate comittee you have to swear on oath, like a witness in a jury trial. But they have the get out of the 5th amendment (see Oliver North, arms for hostages.) Brooks is probably thinking. 'every cloud etc...' at the moment. James Murdoch paid off celebs to keep quiet yet denies knowing the full extent of the hacking going on. They may be able to land some punches on him. I think the old man will know too much for an the likes of Keith Vaz though.

I think Cameron would be toast if Labour had a leader capable of scoring from 6 yards out with just the keeper to beat. The chief constable craftily knifed him last night when he said one of the main reasons he resigned was his close relationship with the ex deputy editor gadgie. So where does that leave Cameron,if his former employee, the also recently arrested Andy Coulson, is charged with fuck knows what over this? As I say, I think even a Shola standard leader could put this chance away. But I think Ed is more in the mould of Rob Mcdonald....2 and a bit days before the last pmq's before the summer recess (someone correct me if thats wrong?) Last chance to bury this empty vessel PR stunt cunt for good. Make sure youve got your shooting boots on Ed....

I feel like that fuckin Jimmy Cricket....."c'mere....theres more"! The Chief Constable of the Met has resigned http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14180043

Suggestions that she's been arrested to stop her appearing before the select comittee on Tuesday and in doing so protecting the very people who arrested her, the corrupt bastards. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14178051

Sammy's gonna get ya! I've played against him before and lets just say he was so shite that only Newcastle would try to develop him. Fucking Mag vermin, fucking hate yee. One of the better ones, too. They can't help themselves in the end though. They are an oppressed people, bitter as fuck. Ask any Tyne shipyard worker about them then stand well back from the blast. Still going on at one shipyard mate.....am working beside 3 of them and their (reasonable) attitude to me changed the day the fixtures came out. It's like they wear a "mask" of normality but can't help letting it slip to display the enormous chip on their collective shoulders. Can't remember when the result of the game on the 20th has been so important for me personally, rather than for the supporters in general and obviously the club.

I've typed this verbatum from today's Observer. Their website is fuckin shite. The full article (I've just noticed) appears on the PA website here: http://www.pressassociation.com/component/...from=sport-news Is the language of this not a bit strong for a manager who is at best tolerated by the vast majority of supporters and viewed by some as a weak puppet figure? I don't condone going on to the pitch but it started as a bit of light hearted over exurberance by those not old enough and too drunk to know better. Pardew sounds like some self righteous mackem prick on here rather than the manager of the football club. If you look at the full article even fuckin Llambias stops short of tarring us all with the same brush: not that you'd read that bit in the Observer. Cunts Anyone see or hear of a bit of a ruck near the station with apparently some of Boro's mob?...evening out for more than a couple of the North East's club's?....

Wenger seems to have ruled out a move for a left back to replace Clichy: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport...ael-Clichy.html Things could change of course, Wenger may be trying to be cute in a inflated market, but it doesn't seem likely. Maybe if Liverpool get rid of those that are no longer required they'll come in for him. I'm beginning to think he may well see out his contract though..for a player to move you need a buyer and there doesn't appear to be one at the moment. 7 mill for a player in the last year of his contract is (intentionally) a piss take and may well be putting clubs off till next summer, or perhaps till January when a club still in the champions league may come in. Just cant see him signing the new contract, its more than likely a Bosman for him now.

Some misguided souls of my aquaintance, desperate for a bit of black and white action, are going to Utrecht next weekend to watch Joey and the reserves in action.....isn't Utrecht some sort of modernist concrete nightmare with Northern Europe's most violent football hooligans?....hope so anyway

Apparently the ownwers of the winning ticket are a couple are from the Falkirk area....if anyone in particular needs a bit of good fortune, it's probably a couple from the Falkirk area....

When I heard about this last night I was thinking it would be great if this latest accusation turns out to be true as it would go down like a shit sandwich over there. If James Murdoch is proven to have been complicit in all this could he be jailed in the US if it ended up in a guilty verdict at a trial?...is there an offence he could be charged with?..
-
Brooks has finally had a her fingers prised from the cliff edge, about time too. An FBI investigation that proved they hacked 9-11 victims/their families as mentioned above would destroy what little credibility News Corps had left, especially in the US. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14166162

Neil Taylor Transfer Saga & Other Adventures...

The ES got the story from somewhere.....Tiote's agent perhaps?.....

Howay man, you can't blame the fans. It's not like the situation would be improved if they didn't buy them, is it? I'd suggest it would be the club that needed shooting with shit if any more of our better players are sold. Not that it would bother either Llambias or Ashley...

No but I fancy an Ajax one. Think it's awkward getting tickets due to their holiganism problems though (read something to that effect). Yeh I can imagine it being a bit of a carry on! I want to try Holland or Germany as they both seem to have decent atmopsheres and are supposedly reasonably priced. I think 100% of Newcastle fans who weren't at Feyenoord wish they were tbh! I was there, and went to a friendly in Rotterdam a few years before too. Saw us in Eindhoven,Breda and Heerenveen as well...I agree with Stevie, the Netherlands is a great country, everyone seems to "get" the English in a sort of funny world-weary/ironic kind of way, in a way the French can't or won't in a million fuckin years.
