  1. Dont worry MT, here is the party line.... That member of the team is THE "LIBERO" PLAYER Each team has the option to register one specialised defensive player, "Libero" among the final list of 12 players for the whole tournament. The specific rules for a Libero player are as follows: A) He/she is restricted to performing as a back row player and has no right at all to complete an attack hit when the ball is above the height of the top of the net. The Libero may not serve, block or attempt to block. C) The Libero must wear a different colour shirt from the other members of the team. D) Substitutions involving a Libero are not counted as regular and their number is unlimited. A Libero cannot take part in normal substitutions and may only enter or leave the game while the ball is out of play and before the whistle for service. E) It is necessary to have a rally between replacement of two different players involving a Libero. With the previous approval of the first referee, an injured Libero may be substituted during the match by any registered player within the normal line-up list of the score sheet. G) The designated replacement of a Libero will be limited to performing as a Libero for the rest of the match and the subsequent matches. Nevertheless, this player will be allowed to be registered again in the normal line-up of later matches once the initially registered Libero is officially re-instituted. H) No other player will be authorised to perform as a Libero and in the case of further injury of the originally registerd Libero, he/she will be replaced by the same player under the same conditions as stated in previous points.
  2. ok, if you're an expert what about the coloured shirts? eh? eh?....see, you know fuck all really
  3. Denmark v Sweden Women's handball.....a giant game of catch with goal nets.
  4. Got the womens (normal!) volleyball on....GB v Russia....looks like we're getting twatted by the Trots. Why is there one girl from each side with a different colour shirt?... Whats the general thought on tall, skinny birds?....this lot look a bit freaky all togther, like a mutant race of Peter Crouch's ex girlfirends....
  5. Yes, quite often have a haircunt
  6. Vinikorouv has been in the past a doper, good advert for the Olympics...dont know about the other one.
  7. Thats a shocker! There was some class acts carrying the flags, always good when theres a billion pairs of eyes watching who represents the best of what each nation has to offer. The Brazilian lass was stunning, imagine my diasappointment (and Mrs PL's laughter) when seconds after I'd complimented the young lady's "pole gripping skills" it was pointed out that she was a fuckin fencer! Sharapova blew them all away though, shes unbeleiveably beuatiful.
  8. I remember John Curry, and I remember Southmpton winning the cup very clearly that year, but cant remember anything about Montreal at all. Got this from wiki about it though: Princess Anne of the United Kingdom was the only female competitor not to have to submit to a sex test.[5] She was a member of her country's equestrian team.
  9. Were we hearing the difference between what his monitors played back to him and what was being broadcast right at the start?...or was it his erm "backing track" he himself couldnt get the timing right with?...so if he was being helped out, it was out of kilter so much the BBC killed the taped feed and he then plainly struggled with the rest of the song. Its irrelevnt in the face of what came before anyway. The song was there for everyone to sing along to regardless of how Macca delivered it, which they did. Its a great song, which is why its still sung by us 42 years after it was released.
  10. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/imf-in-budget-warning-to-chancellor-george-osborne-7959724.html The IMF criticised Gideons policies last month...they have a lot more credibility for me than the self appointed monitors of financial risk who didnt think there was anything wrong with giving those receiving Welfare in the US mortgages...
  11. Alan Wells and Ovett/Coe, which was 1980 in Moscow. Fuck knows how Fist remembers Mark Spitz I think we pretended to be Robin Cousins and John Curry when the playground was icy, think they both won gold for figure skating before 1980 so that would be the earliest for me.
  12. Theres a poster on here called McFaul mate, youve got to speak to him, he's an acknowledged expert on the dialects of the North East. That the acknowledgement comes from himself alone is irrelevent, I think you'll find Pointless me doing your survey, but I was brought up 4 miles into Scotland and so its a bit different, but thats only by accent, despite what another poster called JawD would have you think good luck with your dissertation, am sure it will be very interesting. You could post it on here afer youve written it?...
  13. Pretty much a fallacy as far as research is concerned, but apocryphally there are cases where it could have been considered to have been a factor. I only know this because one of my closest friends from the village where I was brought up built a goregeous 4 bedroom house 100 yards from an 11kV sub station and his little boy is currently being treated for leukemia. But equally, there was a girl I was at school with from the next village 4 miles away who had it in the early 80s too. Proves nowt, but sadly my mate blames himeself and now lives in a farm cottage 2 miles outside the village, a long way from any power lines...
  14. err...I think theyre brilliant and I'm a sad twat of 42..so, in summary, dunno :-/ If you dont like that sort of music theres no real argument. The Pet Shop Boys played a few tunes for the crowds at Wimbledon this morning, would you have enjoyed that?
  15. Do you not think my scientist friends wouldve thought of all this? They invented a whole department called "Helath Physics" that controlled employee's exposure to nuclear radiation. And of course they didnt take their overalls home for their wives to wash, all overalls used on the "dirty" side were removed and kept on the "dirty" side of the contamination barrier. Its all pretty much common sense really, which is probably why you're struggling a bit with it. Thats not to say that its a "safe" industry generally...the first time I got a haircunt in Tadley (AWE is on the edge of the village) the girl, my own age at the time (I'd just turned 20 when I went there) told me of the 3 kids our age in the village who'd had childhood leukaemia, and that there were leukemia clusters around every nuclear site in then UK. So all this does point towards the whole "nuclear" thing being a tad on the danegerous side, wouldnt you agree?... The rest of your post is too stupid to comment on. Hope this helps
  16. because MT is cool, dont you understand that???!!!
  17. Didnt see this....I've worked at Douneray and Sellafiled too...any questions Wolfy, am only a click away
  18. Like the scientists I worked with at AWE Aldermaston in the early 90s who were at the end of hugely distinguished careers in the field of nuclear armaments?....the same ones who invented, developed and oversaw the actual physical task of getting a raw lump of Plutonium and chucking it into a huge glove-box lathe and witnessed,as I did, the skilled operators actually machine a Trident nuclear warhead? You're sort of right though. Once a nation gets nuclear capabillity, it encourages others to,which is where you get the phrase "Nuclear weapons have kept the peace in Europe since 1945" so in a way the whole world has been kept in check by having nuclear deterrents acting as the ultimate peacekeeper.
  19. It was fabulous, Danny Boyle will probably end up "Sir Daniel" after that. All those involved should feel very proud. Anyone know roughly what time the cycling road race is slated to finish? Starts at 10, 150 miles....got to go out later, but am hoping to make it back to see the end.
  20. Thats the crack like, that was down to one man alone. I think some monumental cunt could do it for shits and giggles.
  21. Isnt Ben Arfa's agent Simon Stainrod?....
  22. Am I right in assuming that if the ego maniacs of Wall Street and Canary Wharf choose to kill the Euro, they just can?.....no one elected them either, but people did vote for Gideon and he'd rather sell his own granny than attempt to bring those fuckers to heel.
  23. How is Walkergate's answer to Hugh Grant theses days?
  24. Knight has kids with Ohara's missus?...and hes been abusing her on twitter?.. I cant make head nor tale of twitter, its beyond me. Where does it actually say that, or is it only inferred?
  25. Yeah, but if we stick to our guns money wise Liverpool are unlikely to agree to letting him come here. Reckon we'll probably bring in another striker and Carroll will do a season on loan at West Ham, if theyre the only ones who meet Liverpool's requirements. He's been told to fuck off like iyam, which is shocking when you consider Rogers's first choice striker last season was Danny Graham and he got 12 goals. Can't imagine why he wouldnt give him a go at least, its piss poor management. If its come from above Rogers's pay grade then he's an even fuckin bigger fool and so are the ones at LFC who are saying Carroll should be peddled. Cant see on what grounds they could say he should go.
