I think I saw both those tours...Kingmaker at The Venue in Edinburgh and Pumpkins at Southampton Guildhall...class acts both...Kingmaker had a string of very good singles and an album that did fuck all, which may have got them dropped by their label... I think the only act I've seen 3 times are the Beasties... Barrowlands in 87, Brixton and Glasto in 94....

Why speak ill of the dead? Because you dont know his family and you're on the internet? Would you tell any bereaved family memebers of someone you did know a few home truths about their loved one?...

His beeb obituary says he was a UKIP supporter but also a navigator in Bomber Command during the war. This experiance apparently made him deeply mistrustful of the idea of closer European ties and vehemently anti war. Which, it could be argued, is a bit contradictory. Strikes me as pretty much a product of his generation and class, and a very high acheiver across lots of things. He wrote and performed music despite never having had a music lesson in his life. He seems to have been hugely popular where he lived in Selsey. Seems a bit sad some folk are trying to establish their own credentials on the back of someones death, but there you go, thats t'internet for you... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-10525469

Toonpack's a poodle/cock/hair rocker! Half of them are going to be swept up in the Saville enquiry TP, you've been warned.... tenuous association....I used to work with Robert Fripp's cousin "Dickie" Fripp.... all prog rock is turbo shite, even worse than Slowdive and Swervedriver.... have I missed offending anyone else?...The Smiths were better and hugely more influential than any band they influened, including all the early 90s indie schmindie NME melody maker bands Sammy seems to like...

"transfer by comittee" LBT blamed Pardew alone for not strengthning the squad....ho hum... Agree with Brock, someone will pay big money for him if they go down and Pardew knew last summer was the only chance to get him on Mike's budget...oh well..

That piece by Samuel reads like all he's out to do is wind up JB and get a "twitter feud" going or something equally as tedious....it reads a bit like one of CT's less emotional outbursts....designed to gently provoke... -
http://www.mirror.co...&rev=118225&ct=1&xld=1&xd=1 This lad can play a bit, bit small though.....sounds like his agent has planted the story to get an offer from Spurs or Arsenal anyway

Tbf, Lauren Laverne is indisputably the best thing to come out of Wearside...pretty much ever. Kenickie were fab too. But she's got gigs that are far in advance of her abilities. Don't care. I don't think about her with my brain

Yeah he was on something on BBC2 I watched a while ago.....seems to be a bit Eddie Izzard ish....a mainly straight forward arty type who's just compelled to dress up as a woman... Turner prize is taken seriously by those who win it by the looks of it. To everyone else its a joke. No one normal can understand how Tracy Emins manky bed can win a prize. As long as these arty types take it seriously and have lackies in the media to give it coverage then it'll remain a piss take too.

Grayson Perry I expect Gene had these on his bedroom wall, Tom probably wasn't born in 86...still, Liz has come a long way... http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/shortcuts/2012/dec/04/elizabeth-price-talulah-gosh-turner

Am off to surrender monkey land tomorrow......this lot seem to be bogling along in the league without setting it on fire..2 each at home to Sochaux who are 4th bottom on Saturday, GB lie 6th in their league. Any chance they may put a weakened team out themsleves?... http://www.girondins.com/matches/en/competitions/2013/ligue1/resultats.shtml

Depends. Was Ba's err "hamstring" injury last night, at the end of a game he's ran his bollocks off in, slightly convenient? If we never see him in a black and white shirt again I'd be surprised, but not that surprised But Shola will probably replace him... Who ended up the 3rd man up front last night then?...

No it was tiny! Thanks Fish/Ant, very good read.

Can you sort the formatting out?....cant get on gambling websites from here and am half fuckin blind
-
Cabaye= centre midfield Ben Arfa= first team regular already Obertan= cant get a start in front of Jonas, right footed. Ferguson= your most plausable suggestion, if he were ready physically to play 30+ games a season. Lets face it CT if you're right and he's finished, we need a new player to take his place in the squad as Mr Dependable/ thego to player etc etc....am asking who?...
-
Who are we replacing Jonas with CT? Shane?....or are we buying somebody in January?...any suggestions?
-
So, in January its now a right back, centre half, striker AND a midfielder who can run all day, play on both flanks and fill in at fullback now and then. Over to you Mike, am sure you won't let us down
