  1. Put yourself in Taylor's shoes...would you be happy with a 34 year old with 26 caps playing out of posistion in your place, against a bunch of part timers, on what could be your first cap? Smalling and Lescott, ok theyre both centre backs not a lot he can say. But starting a midfielder in there?
  2. These posts get to the heart of the heart of the matter. The FA think theyre being consistent, but applying a bit of logic and common sense to the thing and it is for all the world to see a fuckin ludicrous situation.
  3. pick the bones out of that on google CT!
  4. The penalty for the tackle (i.e. "serious foul play" in the rule book) is a 3 game ban. See Shawcross on Ramsey.
  5. Thats a no then Stop putting words into my mouth CT. I've never made any claims on behalf of any government. You're the one making these claims then googling to see if theres anything to back them up.
  6. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/mar/19/england-michael-carrick-defence-san-marino Theyre going to play Carrick at centre back according to this Taylor cant handle the sub conference standard attack of San Marino then? What is the fuckin point of calling him up if you're to humiliate the bloke by doing this?
  7. Thats trotted out a lot by the Tories. Any independent figures to back it up?
  8. Play was stopped at the moment of the offence. ~Thats how theyd worm their way out of that one.
  9. for example?...am not saying there are or there aren't. Apparently Balotelli on Song last season is the same as this, nowt was done because the officials missed it and play went on. This is for serious foul play, not violent conduct off the ball where it didnt affect the flow of the game.
  10. He didnt though. Gouffran blocked him, hes basically told Pardew that. The linesman is at fault. I think instead of thinking about "justice for Massido" we should think about how to stop players doing this in the first place. The FA's hands are tied by their own archaic rules.
  11. I've ran the line before and been told that but if its going on at premier league level they all want fuckin shooting...Halsey, his mate on the line and the FA.
  12. Or for red cards being recinded. Because play was waved on I think its deemed "re-refereeing" by the FA and they dont want to go down that road. Thats why theres a deafning silence on this from soho square or wherever it is they live now.
  13. This may be old but I've never seen it before...amazing what comes up looking for Michael Owen missing sitters
  14. His first half hatrick at SJP (mustve been 98/99?) got a standing ovation. He always made Dabizas look like a parks player
  15. better finisher definetly...better footballer?.....Bellamy always wanted the ball, Owen wanted chances on a plate. Fair enough with a briliant midfield behind you, not really going to happen under Souness and Roeder though.
  16. Didnt that lad retire around 2009?...not heard much from him since like...
  17. They have their way of doing things that are mostly unchanged since Dave Whelan's playing days. He said this in 2010: "Norman Deeley came right over the ball. Today he would have been sent off and banned for a long time. He came six inches over the ball, he came for me not the ball." I've got a bit of sympathy for the FA, they cant change the rules on a case by case basis. They need to be consistant. But when its consistantly poor it shows its an issue that needs to be addressed. They use video evidence when deciding if or when a red card could be recinded in conjunction with the ref concerned but they wont do it for an incident missed in the flow of the game. I can understand the distinction, but it hard to fuckin bare.
  18. Telegraph saying that the FA may be reluctant to dicispline Macmanaman; they dont want to set a precedent of "re-refereeing" games" and cite Ballotelli's challenge on Song last season as a case where nothing was done. Also possibly suing someone, it isnt clear who, because the lino did nowt. All seems a bit strange. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/9938902/Newcastle-United-may-sue-Wigan-Athletic-for-Callum-McManamans-horror-tackle-on-Massadio-Haidara.html
  19. Ticket not included. You'll need enough points to apply yourself. Or beg someone who has enough.... if you don't have enough points be creative to raise enough funds to tempt someone to flog you theirs..... sell a kidney or something,....
  20. Mackems game moved to fuckin midday on Sunday 14th April :/ Theres never been decent game of football that kicked off at 12 noon. Ever.
  21. Who said the manager needs sacking? Am reasonably happy with Pardew, hes as good as we'll get for the money, but he's limited. For the record am perfectly calm, my pulse rate is very low. Even when am adminstering the final cut to cheeky fuckers who patronise me, it rarely rises above normal I think we've played quite well in the last few games but not scored a lot of goals. That may not be enough for some but after our pre January travails I'll take it. As long as we're winning at the moment then style and scoring hatloads can wait until the squad is developed next season. After the first half yesterday if you'd offered me a point I'd have taken it with both hands and we were cheated out of it in the end. Cisse wouldve buried 2 of the chances this time last year. But we cant complain too much tbh. As 2J says, 5 first choice players now injured, its going to be a tricky end to the season iyam.
  22. If it was a level playing field and you were picking 4 centre backs to go to a finals in the summer, is Taylor one of the 4 best centre backs in the country?...not for me...
