  1. I'd love to see a game there...theresalso a rumour doing the rounds chez moi that next years holidays will include the Amalfi Coast & The Bay of Naples.... so thats going to be in early September, coinciding with a home game, whether she likes it or not
  2. Pardew making a public statement: "IM IN CONTROL OF ALL THESE SURRENDER MONKEYS, HONEST" Self serving, but most work places are full of petty battles for power. Pardew can excercise his via the press.
  3. Managers generally impose fines at football clubs, according to a set of rules agreed by the players. Are you suggesting someone other than Pardew imposed the fine?...
  4. Wasn't Darren Ambrose supposed to be "dallying" with Will Young while he was with us?....
  5. Just seen the second Milan goal v Celtic. Fraser Forster is fuckin shite.
  6. If We'd have sold Cabaye would we have signed Gomis? Was all the extra tv money spent in January? for me, we're a "sell to buy" club rather than a selling club and if you're bringing in relatively modest sums (bar Carroll obviously) for the players you're selling/letting go then the money for January's "splurge" had to come from somewhere other than Ashleys back pocket.
  7. If you'd bought £1,000 of Sports Direct shares in 2008, they'd be worth £22,000 now. 8. This is ringing a bell now...cheers for putting that up Clairefontaine is the French FA's academy?...
  9. I was aware of that...the article seems to imply it was a l'ecole though...you're probably right.
  10. Remy and HBA were at school together.....reckon they charged an entry fee to watch the school team? bet it was shit to be another player on their side, good players only pass to each other at that age, fuckin patter merchants http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle/read_article/10678023._/
  11. thats what I thought when the authour claimed he was politically close to some lefty footballer who played for Livorno...he sounds closer to Chamberlain to me...
  12. especially if you run into one of these charaters... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcQubPzQcpE
  13. I dont think I've ever said "Pardew OUT!" but I'd also say one swallow doesnt make a summer. Having said that even in the first half v man city there was at times evidence of a coherent passing game from last season's "hoofball" merchants. Its all quite encouraging
  14. His Parkinson appearance from the 70s with Lauaren Bacall and Jimmy Reid is brilliant, not sure if you can see it on youtube. He also beleives something that I think is generally true as well: "the upper classes and the working classes get on quite well in my experience, its those fuckers in the middle who ruin it for everyone" Good luck big yin
  15. That to me reads like a defence of Facism in general. If that wasnt the intention fair enough, and I can understand the footballing reasons for liking Di Canio, but it sounds like you're trying to covince yourself that xenophobia is ok.
  16. What a completely unexpected surprise.... Halsey added: “It took time to gain Sir Alex Ferguson’s respect but in the end we had a very good relationship.” He broke protocol by directly making contact to a manager but defended his actions by saying in his book: “One thing should be made clear about my relationship with Sir Alex. "I may have spoken to him a lot and shared texts but he knew when I crossed that white line there were no favours. “Players and managers would not respect you if you gave decisions based on friendship.” Check out all the latest News, Sport & Celeb gossip at Mirror.co.uk http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/mark-halsey-alex-ferguson-text-2276667#ixzz2f666Qj5q Follow us: @DailyMirror on Twitter | DailyMirror on Facebook
  17. fair enough Fedders.....you do know though there are little market towns used as stop offs for bus loads of football fans all over England?....one of those things mate, and has been for decades tbh. Not pleasant for the locals but am sure they'll cope. I'll not forget running into your mid 90s Combat18 "characters" in a hurry, and as you say I wouldn't judge the rest of you like that
  18. Those bastards in Lichfield deserved it after Villa Park 09. Am serious. Fuck their hair appointments.
  19. Get your pac a mac out Jill! A lad I know has flown home from Dubai to do it in aid of Parkinsons research...he reckons no rain, just a bit blowy...

    Gout

Lad I used to work with had weeks off work due to gout...when it flared up he couldnt get his (mandatory H&S) steel toe cap boots on
  21. If he's saying he wants players in with the full knowledge that hes not getting them he may not be lying to us thats true. He's at least being "economical with the truth" because he wants to keep his job instead of having the balls to walk out. Am not sure how many of would work for somebody under those circumstances. Maybe Pardew likes us really and doesnt want to inflict Kinnear on us..
  22. Dont you come across mealy mouthed, piss weak managers in your line of work then?...theyre pretty common in my experiance; as long as theyre serving a purpose and not creating waves theyre safe. Stevie makes a valid point. Mike Ashley is a barrow boy made good with a reputation for the unconventional. Pardew is ideal for a man who point blank refuses to communicate with the supporters of NUFC. He got Mort & Llambias to do it in the past, now its all down to Pardew.
  23. Is Maldini the "official" captain of Glorie then? Or were they going "you go up, no, you go up" etc etc...
  24. Scotty was captain on merit when Keegan turned up as manager..thing is he was in division 2 at the time and hed filled in pretty well after the likes of Roeder, Jackson and Thorn left. The step up was too much for him. Not the first player thats happened to. I liked him anyway.
