I think its more likely than the Remy deal which makes taking the piss out of Darren Bent even more bizarre. Remy is on 80k? a week at L'OM and apparently Napoli and Spurs are sniffing round. Over to you Shola

Those huge fuckin signs are ridiculous. Gaelic has never, ever been spoken on the Border. Fuckin Holyrood, the most expensive and pointless parish council on the planet. Oh and the best thing about England is our sense of humour and tolerance of other, lesser peoples

I tend to agree, and I also think there was bids from two or three sides for Cabaye last summer but they weren't enough to tempt Ashley.I think they tempted the player very much, and this partly added to him playing like a half shut knife for most of the season when fit. Euros and injury didn't help either, but some games he blatantly couldn't be arsed.
-
Didn't Pardew spend the 2 windows before this one saying "ooh we're expecting bids for our big players, got to be prepared for that.." He's been nowhere near as blatant this summer. We didn't lose any of them, which makes me think one or two could be off Who knows though?...it doesn't look like it atm. If Barca keep hold of Fabregas I'd expect a bid from manu for Cabaye. Apart from that.....does any of Europe's elite need a keeper?...

So when was the last time you watched Cisse play two thirds of a game with his back to the goal, in an attempt at holding the ball up, which is what am presuming Gomis is being brought in for, to all intents and purposes Shola's replacement?... Bent is somewhere in between him and Cisse, likes to play on the shoulder mostly but is a lot, lot more robust and doesn't mind a physical, aerial battle with a centre half. His Premier League goal scoring record just can't be ignored either. For me, Gomis, Bent and Remy are all sufficiently different for a purchase of any of them to make sense. Haven't a clue which ones we'll end up getting, if any. I'd prefer Bent and Remy tbh, am hoping Pardew doesn't carry out his threat to go 442 next season when its largely becoming a thing of the past.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/swansea-city/10216781/Swansea-City-4-Malmo-0-match-report.html Canny debut from Bony. Just the two goals. 24 years old, Swansea paid 12 million. Hmmmm.....

I've done 110 miles round trip every day for the best part of 4 years....if the moneys right, an hour in either direction is ok iyam. 40 minutes on the train from Berwick doable, but I imagine the season ticket would be pricey to say the least. -
Thats was my first thought

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/10217045/Loic-Remys-loan-move-to-Newcastle-in-jeopardy-as-Queens-Park-Rangers-only-want-to-sell-French-striker.html Sounds like 'arry was just blowing off to give his pet journos a story.....he doesnt have the shout on this one as he's "only" the coach, his boss and the one who will have the final say Tony Fernanades sounds a lot more realistic about Remy's situation.
-
Not exactly sure why you'd say that, may be an age thing...would agree its not as common as it once was...

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/transfer-news-newcastle-told-they-must-meet-8m-buyout-clause-to-sign-qpr-striker-loic-remy-8741965.html Remy has been bailed until September over an allegation of rape, which could influence any move. Remy denies the allegation.

How much was he up for in January?.. Something tells me we're trying to pull another fast one....it'll be no deal until deadline day iyam then something may get sorted then...

Am not making any great claims for Bent but hes being forced out of Villa because of mioney, Lerner's pulled the plug and his wages are high. Look at the make up of their squad and you'll realise the direction theyre going in. Theres also the payment to Spurs on his completion of 50 appearances, I think that was resolved but there has been a general reluctance from Villa to pick him purely for financial reasons. Also: Also: 2001–2005 Ipswich Town 122 (48) 2005–2007 Charlton Athletic 68 (31) 2007–2009 Tottenham Hotspur 60 (18) 2009–2011 Sunderland 58 (32) 2011– Aston Villa 4 in 11 for England. Am not saying Bent is a better player than Remy, but he is less of a risk.

Dont know about Remy...theres the err "allegations" hanging over him for a start, and turning us down in January does sort of indicate what his motivation is. How motivated will he be for us is what I'd question. His QPR contract is his "golden goose"; the biggy of his career and should set him up for life. He's not with them next season though, will he actually give a flying one for a club he turned down because they wouldnt pay him what he and his agents wanted?... unknowable, but you do know what you're getting with Darren Bent. And seeing as its widely accepted that Bent was Pardew's choice, its another chip away at the blokes standing at the club. Whoever represented the club when the 2million offer was made must have a fuckin great poker face. I wouldnt have been able to stop smirking. Why bother taking the piss?...wonder where that attitude to recruitment comes from?...

Month in the Ukraine?....dont mind if I fuckin do judging by this...woop woop! http://noisey.vice.com/en_uk/noisey-show/kazantip-raving-on-the-black-sea

I think it was modern football in general, which as you say included the Glazers winning titles and European cups etc If manu are knocked off their perch in the next few years it'll be because bacon face has retired to concentrate on his drinking, not because of the Glazers...

Aye the old fracking's harmless.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LBjSXWQRV8 And a minor earthquake around where they were drilling around Blackpool?... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-15550458 Tbf, theres nowt scientifically proven as far as I know...but there is a cause for concern..

A few on here have said that. Think it was different for Wimbledon because of the MK Dons thing. The local council got all WFC's trophies back when that tosser with the hair took them to Milton Keynes and claim them for the new club. Lucky he wasnt shot dead. Those fuckers who set up FCMU(?) though...happy enough to lord it over the rest of us for a decade and a half until some steward told them they had to sit down during games so they set their own club up?
-
We wouldnt be worth 2-300 million if we were in what used be called divi 4 though. Thats why I pointed out that a few may like that and accept the reduced status of the club.
-
Its a supporters trust, so I think basically the receivers did a deal with the main creditor (Chanderai?) and its now a charity.
-
Pompey fans own their club.... I think a fair minority would accept reduced status in exchange for having control. Dont think the majority of the fanbase would mind after 20 years of at least 36k in the stadium, sky tv and the odd brush with the champions league.
