I did say that the players share some of the blame for last season, but don't let whats actually in the post stop you from thinking that I said something else. For me, in this season, 2013/14, the appointment of Kinnear changes the dynamic at the club to such an extent that this one decision from Ashley overrides pretty much everything else that's happened since the end of last season. Is that clearer for you, Mr McGoo? Pardew's been undermined, if Ashley felt that strongly he should've just sacked him in June. I certainly wouldn't have argued with the logic of doing it, I'd have just been fearful about who would be next. And lets look at who its likely to be shall we?...whatever way you look at it, this abysmal summer and what may happen this season is down to Ashley.

That's if Ashley thinks its a good idea, and hes not done it on purpose just to get rid of Pardew. Last season the players, Pardew,Lambias and Ashley all carry the can for a fuckin poor season. The appointment of Kinnear is a game changer where finger pointing is concerned though.

It was the same as last season...in the first half HBA and Sissoko were making decent breaks with no support or movement ahead of them, They cant do it alone though, they need options once they've carried the ball into the final third. We don't have the players with enough clever movement, or players who are able to spot a teammate making decent break and are willing to support it. Second half changes were reasonable, they came for a draw and would have won if Nolan hadn't missed a sitter..again..he did the same at Upton Park last season

The players heads didn't go down as much today as they weren't having the piss taken out of them by 3 or 4 world class attacking players...so the opposistion does make a difference on our own performance iyam.

Well were you honestly expecting much different? What the fuck have you been watching in the last 12 months? In the circumstances, we did ok. Am not happy with the situation, but I've seen us play worse and we have been in worse situations. 12 goals conceaded in the last 3 home games. Today was an improvement. Be realistic. We need 2 new strikers, if we get them, then we can see if we can kick on.

Fuck me it wasn't that bad. Anyone expecting consistent champagne football from Alan Pardew hasn't been following his career thus far. Add 2 strikers with more/better movement and we'll be ok, i.e. we wont get relegated.

Whether anyone rates Pardew or not, he happens to be the best manager Mike Ashley has been willing to pay for lately. Pardew's status may be changing in that regard, but have a think about who may get the job, quite possibly sooner rather than later.

If we to take Pardew's utterances even half seriously since we finished 5th, then its clear that Ashley has used him to keep expectations low. 2011/12 is looking like a huge fluke now. Or was it last season that was the fluke, and we'll return to upper mid table this season?...I think its highly unlikely. When we dropped places under Keegan we knew he could could change it and take us in a different direction. Robson's first couple of seasons were ok, and all it took was the signing of a couple of players to light the spark to propel us into the top 4. We had hope after the disappointing seasons preceading 95/96 and 2001/02. We're here in 2013 and the difference is that there is no optimism whatsoever.
