  1. It barely needs pointing out that there are thousands of season ticket holders at SJP who wouldn't know the internet from a fuckin hair net
  2. I read that last week...its interesting, but it looks like from Caulkins comments on that podcast if we'd have got 20mill for Cabaye we may have done some business. Sell to buy, not much has changed tbh..
  3. I'm ambivalent towards him tbh, he got involved with his eyes wide open. I think his tactical shortcomings miss the point though, he's still employed by Ashley. Ashley could employ a better coach, but hasnt done up to now and Pardew is cheap...Kinnear could be even cheaper...
  4. mate, thats all hes been since he got the job. I cant see how his role has changed. Asking for and getting Obertan is probably the limit of his recruitment activity, other than watching the youtube links Carr emails him.
  5. Which is fair enough. Think he must have forgotten who his boss was this summer. He could have saved himself a lot of heartache if he'd gone for a part time window cleaner from Kilmarnock
  6. Ashley was being praised for this sort of thing 18 months ago. Not that much has changed tbh, other than the present understanding that we're not going down the road that Spurs have gone down; i.e. money from player sales going straight into further recruitment. All money is going to pay off the loans, and if we're then desperate for a player or staring relegation in the face then we'll maybe buy then. But only in January.
  7. Yeah, agree with the spirit of it but its just one step closer to some bimbo on SSN uttering the immortal words "Joe Kinnear will take over as caretaker"
  8. The key word in this for me is "available"....someone tell me who decides if a player is available? Its hardly likely to be the fuckin scout of the buying club is it CT?
  9. Embarrasing but totally in character that he hasn't walked rather than put his name to this shit. So he answers to the dof on all matters but has to offer "his own" mealy mouthed explanation as to why we've spent nowt this summer. No employer in the world, for any amount of money could make me do that. Shameful, even more so that many on here predicted it last night.
  10. People loved that at the time. If you can hold your nose and accept it a sort of mission statement from 18 months rather the mealy mouthed bullshit it really is, those who were enthusiastic about the way he was going about things back then could maybe conclude that nowt much has changed. The one conclusion I'm drawing from when this article was published is that recruitment policy isnt really based on squad need, its based on league position.
  11. Is the correct answer, and it always has been this way. Don't really know what folks are getting at with this, the club is owned by Mike Ashley ffs. Every squad in every professional league in Britain could be stronger and there are a million reasons why they aren't, but the chief one is finance in one way or other. We went to Bayer Leverkusen in the champions league with Shola and Lua Lua up front, they both scored and we won two nil. Not saying that sort of thing happens often nowadays but they were the only two strikers we had after Shearer and Bellamy. Where are they now I hear you cry?...well, according to wiki Lua's in Turkey...not sure what happened to the other bloke
  12. todays big question: WAS LEAZES MAG CORRECT ALL ALONG??!! Let him back on for an hour to hear his side?
  13. He covers the North East for The Times, so he's the local representative working for a national title, actually Keep fighting the good fight CT
  14. Why should he? The Halls said they did when they sold to the fat cunt. They didnt do due dilligence either
  15. 48k---->46k---->????????? Theres a perception that hes blew it this time. Not sure that after 08-09 it could be worse than that. Its certainly not iyam. He's still cunt mind.
  16. Not sure if thats actually true. We get what we get, I dont think there are any hard and fast rules as such. We've spent in the previous two January windows, both for completely different reasons.
  17. There may be more than a grain of truth in this They'd be missing the point though. Ultimately its not Kinnear's money and if he'd turned round to Ashley and said "we need four players priced 5-10 million each Mike" it wouldnt have made a blind bit of difference.
  18. Dont know which part of "we've bought a couple of signings from the summer forward" you didnt understand in January tbh Ashley has basically said "this is how we're doing it, suck it up or fuck off". 46k there on Saturday, 2k down on the previous weekend. He'll soon reap what he's sown. Then we could well be stuck with the cunt.
  19. James Pearce ✔ @Pearcesport I'm told Mike Ashley let Cabaye listen to phone negotiations last week + he heard Arsenal say: "25 million a lot for a reserve" #moodchanger 12:10 PM - 2 Sep 2013 259 Retweets 20 favorites Reply
  20. 9.35am BST 'Ozil has chosen to stay at Real Madrid'So says Spanish newspaper Marca, who tend to be on the ball when it comes to life at the Bernabeu. Here's the link to their story (in Spanish), but the gist is that Real's Florentino Perez had agreed a €45m fee with Arsenal, only for Ozil to opt against the move. Unless there is "a sudden change at the last minute" he'll be staying in Spain. Wonder what Arsenal will do now?
  21. 9.24am BST Mezut Ozil newsWell, indirectly. The Newcastle Journal reckon that sources at St James's believe Arsenal have "gone cold" on Yohan Cabaye. They also reckon that Newcastle have turned down the chance to sign Fenerbahce's Moussa Sow.
  22. Dear Drooper.... She says the same as most other folk...criticising players in public is on page one of "things not to do as a football manager".
  23. No need to fret...WKL says we're ace 4) Newcastle may yet thrive without signingsSo far Loïc Rémy, borrowed on loan from QPR, is Alan Pardew's sole recruit. Joe Kinnear clearly isn't quite the director of football he thinks he is but even so, providing Yohan Cabaye stays or is adequately replaced (admittedly a big caveat), Newcastle look strong enough to confound the doubters. During last season's relegation travails they were missing the injured Hatem Ben Arfa – now fit, and the matchwinner against Fulham – and the personally troubled Fabricio Coloccini, who is back playing well at centre-half and captaining the side. Moreover, Pardew's five recruits from France last January are now bedding in properly, with Moussa Sissoko looking a particularly good buy. They still possess the excellent Tim Krul in goal and Davide Santon at left-back. And Rémy's outstanding pace and attacking movement promise great things. All is far from lost for Newcastle – and Pardew. Who is to say that, contrary to received wisdom, he will not outlast Kinnear at St James' Park? Do not bet against it. Louise Taylor
