  1. Is it me, or is the Stoke left back the forgotten mutant Neville brother, kept locked in the attic for years?...
  2. Alan Pardew has been chatting to Sky: We know we’ve got some options on the bench now, particularly Papiss Cissé. I think prior to the Southampton game we deserved more than we got, and played reasonably well. The Southampton game was obviously nowhere near good enough. And since then we’ve shown resiliance. You need to be battle hard in this division, and we’re learning early that we have to dig deep and fight. Me? I was born battle hard, so it comes naturally to me. It’s been tough, because you want the fans to be behind you. Obviously they’re questioning everything I do at the moment, which is understandable.
  3. There's no doubt he had one of his few good games at Stoke that night tbh. He's nowhere near consistent enough though and it just shows how the squad had been cut when he's banging on the door to be included.

Watson was equally ungracious in saying that some of his team were out of shape and weren't physically capable of potentially playing 72 holes in 3 days, so Mickelson was just getting his own back after being dropped on Saturday afternoon. Fat Phil also mentioned that they should've done things like the last US winning captain, Paul Azinger, who's main advantage as far as I can make out was having the good fortune of having renowned charisma free zone Nick Faldo as his opposite number. Faldo who had annihilated Sergio Garcia recently for his attitude during that tournament. Keep it all in the team room chaps, and be a reasonable human being. There. That's not too difficult is it?...
  5. Am not a big Obertan fan to day the very least, but didn't he score one and create one at Stoke on a Monday night about 3 years ago?....he didn't shit himself that night iirc...
  6. Want to hazard a guess as to when the last time Pardew started with two out and out strikers actually upfront?.....unless you're suggesting that Pardew should play one of them out of position?...there's probably half a dozen posts lurking on here where you criticise Pardew for that sort of shit
  7. "Hi Stevie, I'm Neil, hope things dont get too hevvvy man..."
  8. if were still bottom of the league I expect Pardew to play his mother in law and a semi retired window cleaner who had a couple of run outs for Gateshead reserves in the early 80s...
  9. When we play man city they're in the middle of a run in which they play CSKA Moscow twice, manu at home and west ham away....something may have to give....
  10. There's a lot of self righteousness about this, people wrar it as a badge of honour, as if the ultimate apathetic gesture will acheive anything. If it was just about the football there would be empty grounds all over the planet. Professional football wouldn't exist in any way, shape or form. And lets face it, that's not happening is it? People follow shite football teams run by utter cunts the world over. Do I take football any more or less seriously than KCG or trophyshy? If they'd been fully paid up season ticket holders before the Ashley regime took over id certainly respect their stance, but if their attendance record had been patchy at best in the years before 2007 it smacks of growing up a bit or moving away or falling out of love with the game in general in the 21st century or more likely a bit of all 3. Does someone who goes regularly take it more seriously than poor old Stevie who held on as long as he could bare it but threw it in after last season?..thats a trickier one. For whatever reason, I can't stop going, its far too important to me. I enjoy the people I go with far more than the actual game 99 times out of 100. As I say, it was all about the game I wouldn't be currently sat on the m25 in surrey looking at the arse end of an 18 wheeler. My mate sat next to me missed one away game the season we went down in 09. He says to him to truly appreciate the good times you need to suffer the bad. Is that cliched bollocks or a balanced attitude to supporting any football club?
  11. Aye, and you'll be a huge miss to the crack at Selhurst tonight Kev
  12. He's a Cardiff supporter from boyhood, nailed on for that gig..... If he fancies working for another chairman who wants a yes man to coach players brought in by scouts/agents, which was apparently his problem at Palace. So perhaps not. See also any possible coaching role at NUFC which may or may not be available in the near future...
  13. They'd closed the book the weekend we twatted the tramps 5-1. Hughton went a month later the next time we lost iirc. Rumours for weeks that Pardew was coming.
  14. The likes of HF & sackpardew.com outed as football agents, possibly operating from Austrailia http://www.kentonline.co.uk/gravesend/sport/brown-backs-under-fire-pardew-23868/
  15. Yeah because that's what professional footballers do, play for the reserves Monday afternoon then the first team wednesday night....
  16. Nothings sacred. More dreadful news... from .com Update: John Tudor News from the USA that former Magpie, John Tudor, is in a stable condition following a heart attack - more as we get it.
  17. Was there any real need to have wonga plastered all over these like?..... http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20140922/jonas-t-shirts-to-be-auctioned-for-charity_2281670_4164132
  18. He's now blaming social media? You couldn't make this buffoon up if you tried
  19. Boxing Day 88, Glen Roeder winner. 7.5 years, some way off a decade and we spent 4 of those years in the second division. When we played Manu at home in October 96 we were one of England's top sides.
  20. Leicester's first season back after a decade out of the top division We'd just been beat at Wembley in the charity shield by Manu, and the worlds most expensive player had turned them down for us and he scored in the game. That enough differences for you? No need to thank me
  21. Often pick this up when nowt else is on the shelf, pretty much month by month on the early years of the club: http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Toon-Complete-Newcastle-Football-ebook/dp/B00CP5BOH6 I like the title of your one, I think I'm right in saying that The Blaydon Races is almost certainly the oldest song still regularly sang at football matches in the UK, which probably means on the planet as well.
  22. Pride. Very, very funny, like Billy Elliot/Brassed off, but with more err, gays. And added80s politics. Some great performances not only from Staunton,Nighy and West but others who I didn't know Touching and inspirational. Think I've had too many post flicks drinks. Never mind eh?...
