  1. There was a kid in our school the same skids niven, small slightly dumpy lad with round specs and a big grin All these cartoons with famous actors narrating them were almost all really good...Dangermouse, Michael Bond did Paddington, Arthur Lowe as mentioned, I liked the Kenneth Willaims one about the social outcasts living in the woods...

  3. The boycott might not get as much exposure as it could have if it wasn't kicking off an hour after the Liverpool v villa semi the same afternoon...still, it's being publicised in the daily wail this morning: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3030892/Newcastle-fans-organise-boycott-home-game-against-Tottenham-bid-oust-owner-Mike-Ashley.html
  4. Mop-haired manc late 80s/early 90s baggytastic geetar hero John Squire was an animator on Dangermouse, a particular favourite of mine...

  6. Three mackems proudly(?) wearing their strips on the 1635 flight from Newcastle to Southampton today...on this plane...
  7. Spoke to a fellah in his 50s at half time yesterday, he was saying he hopes we go "the full pompey", go right down to the conference if need be, at least the club would be properly ours.
  8. We didn't have any discernable tactics yesterday as far as I could make out. The players don't have any heart because Ashley has removed all feeling and motivation from all aspects of the club. We're a fuckin shell.
  9. Good article On the Beeb website, Les Ferdinand's thoughts on the transition from youth team to first team at premier league clubs: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32177003
  10. I get the link up play thing, but that's not what his game is. His first touch is generally pretty good though. It doesn't stand out as a weakness for me. He's a difficult player to fit into the system of a lot of premier league sides; he wants to play up front on his own but is nowhere near physically robust for that role in the way most sides play. You'd think he'd work well in a two like Owen or Ian Wright used to but it just doesn't seem to work. Maybe that's why he's still here.
  11. Fair enough, but why hasn't King appointed a new NOMAD as he said he would a month ago?
  12. Aye doc you'd be fuckin mortified if he asked for a Chelsea strip for his birthday..he might do anyway once he starts school and is surrounded by the mutant offspring of brain dead cockneys
  13. Also like Sterling he's got a greedy canniving agent desperate for a big pay day and to fuck with what's best for the player.
  14. Agreed. Since the abolition of the maximum wage and retention of players' registrations in the 60s loyalty has been a pretty redundant concept. And why not? It's a proffesion, not a hobby. Players pretty quickly stop being fans, the most glaring recent example of this is Rooney. I imagine he'd still describe himself as a Evertonian, and am sure deep down he is, but they stop thinking along these lines pretty quickly. Sir Bobby could've signed for us or Boro as a teenager but chose the bright lights of Fulham. That was in the early 50s... In his book Sir Bob said his old man didn't understand...that's the difference between a player and a fan..
  15. Well yeah, and I did acknowledge he had a vague point with that. The article I quoted did seem to imply that ttl's point of view on Trott's issues in general was "absurdly simplistic" though. Which I also agree with. I have no idea what this post means, but have a nice day/evening
  16. Well you certainly didn't start out to make that point, you only came up with it after being called out for calling the bloke a coward. I dare say you're partially right about Trotts attitude, but it may also suggest that he doesn't fully understand the ins and outs of his complaint himself.

  18. Ashley would just fire Garde...
  19. So we'd have made a loss of we hadn't sold Cabaye?....did Deloitte do the books again?...are they touring their prankster act this year?....not having a dig HF but do you remain confident of a new manager and a summer splurge on talent now?...
  20. Good read HF, didnt realise you were about 12 by the looks of it though
  21. Acceptance, even admiration of their phenomenal riches weakens instinctive indignation against the galloping greed of our swelling kleptocracy. Where’s the outrage at bankers and FTSE 100 CEOs with their 27% pay rise while most people’s incomes fell back? Shielded in a culture that celebrates, or at least tolerates, its head of state’s unearned wealth. Shes got a point like but misses another one....the Royals' influence on society in general is negligable compared with the FTSE 100 CEOs. Charles letters will be published and all they'll show is him trying to influence planning policy for his own ends. Its hardly asking for 72 billion for a bail out and then the elected government blaming the poor for causing the recession that the bail out was needed for. Of all the bad things in the world the UK's Royals are an irrelevance out of all proportion with their actual importance.
  22. Keith Hellawell......ex chief constable and "drug tzar".....Ashley continues core company policy of surrounding himself with utter cunts...begs the question is Ashley a Freemason??....
  23. What did you get in the end @@The Fish?.....looking at doing similar to you soon and fancy an ultrabook myself but the lack of a cd/dvd drive on the latest ones is putting me off...I've seldom bought music through iTunes or Google play, I tend to buy CDs and upload them...an external drive is possible but it's a bit of a faff...any other recommendations greatly appreciated
