  1. Well yeah he was but the perception was he wasn't. And the vast majority of his closest colleagues initially weren't. But Hattie has just proved that all that gang wanted was power and shes quite willing to sacrifice any shred of principle she had left to get it again.
  2. As a unite member am being hassled to sign up to vote. Am tempted but the choice is fuckin brutal. I'd never describe myself as a socialist but they can't turn themselves into another bunch of fuckin Tories just to win power. It's fuckin ridiculous.
  3. It's all mostly cyclical. There was a Tory on the radio yesterday droning on about how after the coalition's cost cutting in the last parliament crime has fallen and hospital waiting times had been improved and kids were being educated better blah blah blah...which all may or may not be true depending on what stats you want to believe.Thing is if Davey Milli arrives and saves Labour from themselves and there's another financial "adjustment" in the next few years it won't mean a fuckin thing. If the press turn on the Tories they'll be toast, same as Majors crowd were in the nineties once an acceptable leader emerged.
  4. So you don't think McClaren has any chance of improving last seasons under motivated rabble?.....
  5. Instead of Ann Franks house try the Portugese synagogue in Amsterdam Sud....fuckin eerie, Amsterdam had 75k Jews in 1939, and most of them worshipped there....in 1946 they reckon there was maybe only 10k left. Your missus will love it
  6. I think they're both off and the new cloggie will be playing on the right
  7. the thing they did with Pavarotti about holding a beauty paegeant during the siege of Sarajaevo is heartbreakingly great...Bono phoned some lass in the city live from the stage every night he was on stage during one of their mid nineties tours..
  8. Whos "caner of the year" on holiday with his folks then??
  9. That rings a bell actually, think I read it...http://www.amazon.co.uk/Unforgettable-Fire-Story-Eamon-Dunphy/dp/0140107665/ref=sr_1_154?ie=UTF8&qid=1437490044&sr=8-154&keywords=u2+book Its a pity Bono disappeared up his own arse a couple of decades ago, they were properly good in the 80s and early 90s. This is one of their best for me, probably the last decent song they releaed iyam..
  10. Aye Boy is quality, War is great too but I couldn't make head nor fuckin tail of October. Under a Blood Red Sky was recorded on the War tour, my sister took me to see them in Glasgow round then, they were ridiculously good.
  11. Aye Ray Davies is a good a songwriter as we've produced...so many different sorts of music....they say he even invented heavy metal with the riff to this..its said it was a major link from heavy R&B to heavy rock, no one had left the choppy chords just sort of "out there" before..
  12. Mind and get your code from the DVLC before you go to pick the motor up...they don't recognise paper counterpart licenses any more..got caught by that weekend before last
  13. Feel free to borrow for comedy account Dave
  14. Chancel....has he got brothers called Nave and Spire?....little sister Aisle?...
  15. Mirandihna shone brightly for a bit but soon lost interest when Gazza was sold...
  16. That maybe be true but it doesn't invalidate their musical opinion though....well it doesn't if your a normal fair minded and balanced human being....
  17. Tevez's first game for Bocca at the weekend...Maradonna in attendance but Carlos was overshadowed a bit... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/babb/11749557/Diego-Maradona-left-stunned-after-Jonathan-Calleri-scores-exceptional-rabona-chip.html
  18. What a load of shite man....theres thousands of people who weren't born when their favourite music was released.
  19. Less physically attractive but equally as mind blowing from Glasgow around the same time...
  20. Take Money for Nothing and walk of life out of BIA and its a classic, the title track alone is a masterpiece Graceland was a bit meh for me but I appreciate it more nowadays..
  21. Agreed, for me the 80s was a great decade for music but not for any reason CT could come up with. The post punk early 80s in particular was a great time for innovative and interesting artists. Perhaps not musically as such, but the likes of Culture Club were properly "out there", in fact most weeks on TOTP there seemded to be someone who was doing something very different to what had gone before; Soft Cell, Hazel O'Connor, Human League, early Simple Minds, Echo and the Bunnymen etc etc. Most if not all heavily influenced by Bowie. Even properly mainstream bands like Spandau Ballet and Duran Duran wrote killer pop songs and could all play pretty well live too. They piss on the likes of Take That and their irish imitators iyam.
  22. Not too sure about that.... Anderlecht manager Besnik Hasi has described Mbemba: “He has great class, he may not be tall if you compare him to some defenders but he is so fast and can jump so high, plus he’s a really good footballer too.” - See more at: http://www.themag.co.uk/2015/07/newcastle-agree-deal-for-chancel-mbemba-reports/#sthash.P7ZSodj4.dpuf
