Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
PaddockLad replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
Seeing as he blamed us for dropping points at home by having the temerity to actually vocalise our support for the players, how the fuck were we supposed to act at any point? As for taking notice of social media, for a man in his position that's the sign of fuckin weakling.- 10610 replies

To me her appears to be a classic "on the batter" type, months of sobriety (I've see him once or twice as he lives down the road, apparently sober) then just gets on it from time to time.

Terrible news, hopefully he'll be ok.

Who's up for a completely anal festive discussion on tactics and formations under the loose heading "442 isn't deed"?? http://www.football365.com/news/disproving-the-myth-of-the-english-4-4-2 -

As PFA chief in the 60s he helped abolish the £20 per week maximum wage for footballers. Every single one of todays over hyped millionaires should give huge thanks for the life he led. Invented 3 points for a win. Chairman of Coventry City. Also cheeky anti Scottish fuckwit who called David Narey's wonder goal v Brazil at the World Cup in Spain 82 a "toe poke". My old man to this day despises the big chinned prattish gobshite RIP

When Jenas came in he was 19. He came off the bench for Viana for his first appearance then started instead of him in the next game, which was v the mackems at the SoL. He was up against the half decent Claudio Reyna and never took a backward step. Soon he was going toe to toe with peak era Patrick Viera and coming out with at least honours even. I think his exit (under Souness, who was so desperate to keep a plainly unhappy player he made him captain when Shearer was injured) masks what a good player he was when he first came in. I thought at the time he was the best teenager I'd seen since Gazza and would probably be England captain. Sir Bobbys sacking cooked his NUFC goose iyam.

Which transfer was the most disappointing?
PaddockLad replied to The Fish's topic in Newcastle Forum
I remember being at Wimbledon during Dalglish's first full season with a disinterested Tino moping about up front. The standard of football being served up was dreadful compared to what we'd been used to in the previous 4/5 years and the crowd was quiet and subdued, until some lad stood up and shouted "Dalglish, this is fuckin shite!" for which he got a standing ovation of agreement. A lot of these disappointing signings suffered from chronic bad management. Hamman falls into that department tbf, but nothing excuses refusing to come out for the second half of an FA cup final, the spineless fuckin twat. -

Gavilán was a Robson signing. Dalglish barely picked his son but Gullit did fairly regularly. Surprised no ones mentioned Asprilla... -
I've done work at this place, largest onshore oilfield in Western Europe, just across the other side of the harbour from where we are. They drill out 10 miles or so into Poole Bay to extract the oil, not sure if the same technology would work for fracking but on the face of it there's no reason why it wouldn't.. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wytch_Farm

Not sure if this belongs in here but its the comments that are vaguely on-topic; a pretty stark portrait of how the Saudi's are trying to radicalise the poor souls on Western Europe's doorstep.... http://www.theguardian.com/cities/ng-interactive/2015/dec/14/sarajevo-portrait-city-20-years-bosnian-war-dayton?CMP=fb_gu

Fraser Forster or The Scottish Football Thread.
PaddockLad replied to mls1-CelticFC's topic in Newcastle Forum
I'd fuckin argue with it tbh....hes a bog standard centre back who,the last time I saw him turn out for your lot, fucked up twice in a champions league qualifier earlier this season. Hes been average in an average Southampton side in a mediocre to piss poor league. -

Is that Danny Simpson who Pedro just ran past as if he wasn't there to cross for Remy's goal?
