  1. Are these parliamentary committee hearings "under oath"?...ie bible or Koran type swearing?.,,
  2. Never heard of this debit card thing, but sub contractors working through agencies have had to pay a company to "process" their wages for the best part of two decades. Can't claim the 15-25 quid a week back as expenses neither. I think the overall term for this bullshit is "casualisation"...
  3. These are just brilliant... https://www.theguardian.com/sport/gallery/2014/oct/30/muhammad-ali-25-best-photographs-cassius-clay-legendary-boxer?CMP=fb_gu
  4. Saw an interview with Joe Frazier once, he said Ali wasn't the greatest heavyweight champion in history, but he was the greatest "man"* to have held the title, which is some compliment seeing as Ali was unremittingly cruel and abusive towards Frazier throughout their careers. The whole "I ain't got no quarrel with the Vietcong, no Vietcong ever called me nigger" is just about the most inspiring story in the history of professional sport for me, to put his career and livelihood on line for a principle such as that, to stand up to the US government and win, then go on to win his belt back v Foreman in Zaire was just astounding. An absolute immortal, there will definetly be no one else like him *Frazier said for him it was Joe Louis, but Ali is at least in the top 3 iyam
  5. I saw one I think 92/93....our very own Stevie Watson as England captain Canny enough but (sad to say) never as good as Gary Neville, or Winterburn for that matter...
  6. your mates would've loved his nuptials mind, they were all on the ching....allegedly....not what I understand by the term "straight edge" but there you go...
  7. Aye."call me the guvnor" What a fuckin wanker. At lest Southgate had the balls to do it...
  8. "several sherries".....did you get married in 1967?....

    Shearer

No banning order for you then.....they've changed the face of England's support more than anything...they don't get everyone though, lad I know from Poole was deported from Sweden 92 and France 98, he's in Thailand at the moment with all the other "retired" hooligans in Pattaya, and he's still got tickets from whatever has replaced the England travel club for all three group games in France next month

Was the England cricket team's "barmy army" tosspots a thing back then?.....I think England's support in general over the years has gone a bit like that, in lots of ways it's a good thing. Depends how much you respect Stevie and his mates chucking plastic chairs at the police in Charleroi in 2000 then getting scuttled by water canon on News at Ten
  11. Hogdson another daft fucker who's learned nowt from previous failures....don't take barely fit players ffs...
  12. The lack of self awareness is priceless I actually don't give a rats arse about them coming on here, lots of our lot would be doing the same if the situation was reversed, but coming on here screaming "YOUSE DONT MATTER TO ANYONE, LEAST OF ALL US, FTM!!" a fortnight after we went down is a bit too ironic to say the least
  13. Pilger, always worth a read... https://newmatilda.com/2016/03/23/john-pilger-why-hillary-clinton-is-more-dangerous-than-donald-trump/
  14. I heard that at high school 30 odd years ago
  15. Fuck off ya six fingered sister fucker
  16. It's fair to say our crowd doubled from the early 90s, theirs fuckin tripled, but we think "football was invented in 1992 FTM"
  17. Fuckin "domestic situation/happiness wars" posted on a windows vista laptop via a frankly useless dongle, in the back of a Toyota Hiace camper van, from Caloundra, SE Queensland, en route to visit @ toontl
  18. I like that, and am also tempted by Troy Deeney...experience at this level, goals, leadership..and I wouldn't complain if he brought his mate Ikechi Anya with him...a bit of ability and huge energy...things are in flux at the Vic so they (and others) may consider a step down...
  19. Aye, in a football world where Leicester City have just won the league title even Rafa guarantees nothing...but he is the next best thing
  20. According to this his family had more of a say in his decision than even we may have expected, which also reflects incredibly well on our support in general http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/rafa-benitez-how-a-champions-league-winning-manager-was-convinced-to-stay-with-newcastle-united-a7048451.html
  21. Drummed out of Liverpool for being shit years before they won the champions league, in favour of erm "world class" talents like Igor Biscan and Jimi Traore, his best offers for the next decade were from Charlton and fuckin Fulham ...as Tom said so fuckin what if he was assessing his options? No one expected him in March and no one expected him to sign after relegation..outside the usual suspects and Leicester there's no one in the premier league I'd swap places with right now, least of all the mackems. They won't be out the bottom five all season and they'll still be eating fat Sams shit sandwiches every week, only without the only two games that really matter to them.
