  1. When Jenas came in he was 19. He came off the bench for Viana for his first appearance then started instead of him in the next game, which was v the mackems at the SoL. He was up against the half decent Claudio Reyna and never took a backward step. Soon he was going toe to toe with peak era Patrick Viera and coming out with at least honours even. I think his exit (under Souness, who was so desperate to keep a plainly unhappy player he made him captain when Shearer was injured) masks what a good player he was when he first came in. I thought at the time he was the best teenager I'd seen since Gazza and would probably be England captain. Sir Bobbys sacking cooked his NUFC goose iyam.
  2. I remember being at Wimbledon during Dalglish's first full season with a disinterested Tino moping about up front. The standard of football being served up was dreadful compared to what we'd been used to in the previous 4/5 years and the crowd was quiet and subdued, until some lad stood up and shouted "Dalglish, this is fuckin shite!" for which he got a standing ovation of agreement. A lot of these disappointing signings suffered from chronic bad management. Hamman falls into that department tbf, but nothing excuses refusing to come out for the second half of an FA cup final, the spineless fuckin twat.
  3. Gavilán was a Robson signing. Dalglish barely picked his son but Gullit did fairly regularly. Surprised no ones mentioned Asprilla...
  4. I've done work at this place, largest onshore oilfield in Western Europe, just across the other side of the harbour from where we are. They drill out 10 miles or so into Poole Bay to extract the oil, not sure if the same technology would work for fracking but on the face of it there's no reason why it wouldn't.. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wytch_Farm
  5. Labour MP John Mann... http://www.msn.com/en-gb/money/news/politicians-suggest-monster-billionaire-sports-direct-owner-mike-ashley-hires-non-english-speakers-in-warehouses-so-they-cant-speak-out/ar-BBnzrq5?ocid=spartanntp
  6. Not sure if this belongs in here but its the comments that are vaguely on-topic; a pretty stark portrait of how the Saudi's are trying to radicalise the poor souls on Western Europe's doorstep.... http://www.theguardian.com/cities/ng-interactive/2015/dec/14/sarajevo-portrait-city-20-years-bosnian-war-dayton?CMP=fb_gu
  7. I'd fuckin argue with it tbh....hes a bog standard centre back who,the last time I saw him turn out for your lot, fucked up twice in a champions league qualifier earlier this season. Hes been average in an average Southampton side in a mediocre to piss poor league.
  8. We're at villa park on Saturday 7th may, second last game of the season Am likely to be somewhere on the great ocean road in southern Australia

  10. Am loving Leicester this season but they're over-acheiveing massively in a mediocre to piss poor league.
  11. Is that Danny Simpson who Pedro just ran past as if he wasn't there to cross for Remy's goal?
  12. The Beast of Bolsover annihilated the fucker in Parliament today.... http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/sports-direct-owner-mike-ashley-is-a-monster-of-a-man-says-mp-whose-constituency-the-companys-a6772941.html
  13. Tbf to CT having an orthodox left footer in the squad would good and a different option from the usual premier league "inverted wingers". Word that Haidara is out medium to long term means this is a priority in January, Christ knows what will happen though, and ffs let Marveaux go back to France and stay there this time.
  14. Eminent conveyancing secretary Mrs PL says don't touch it with a shitty bargepole, even with CT attached to the end of it. Very unlikely to get anyone to lend you anything if the surveyor wont sign it off....save your money and move on...
  15. All the best my dear old thing
  16. Him and that fuckin Raymond van der Gouw, both right at the front
  17. We've come just as close to winning the league as his "beloved" Liverpool have in the last 25 years. His old man took him out of school to go to Evertons cup winners cup semi final away leg in 1985. But as soon as the Reds started making advances towards the young Carragher they both jumped on the Anfield bandwagon. He's rightly despised by Evertonians but all young lads stop being supporters and start thinking about a possible career very early on...am not sure how his old man can look himself in the fuckin mirror though...although shagging John Terry's mother on an England trip is possibly more embarrasing..
  18. This from the "biggest teenage Everton fan in Bootle"....a fuckin turncoat along with his old man who ditched following EFC as soon as the reds appeared on the horizon. Footballers forget about what its like to actually support a club very, very quickly. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jamie-carragher-find-baffling-newcastles-10589388
  19. Being the best shite out of a parcel of shite is still shite though....don't get me wrong, am as chuffed as nuts tonight but we're below average in a piss poor league at the moment.
  20. Wait a minute, they were the difference today fair one but they both deserved to be dropped when they were. Short term memory loss is chronic round here If we can beat Villa then Ashley's shit kickers will be putting together a tidy little run..we're showing fight and bottle. It goes a long way.
  21. jesus Christ...how did the doc get that out in one go?
  22. 30 sparks and pipe fitters off to one of those all you can eat places on Friday night, next door to a wetherspoons for before and after. We asked Strawb but the snobby fucker said he'd rather spunk 400 quid on a bottle of Cristal before dining at the new Gordon Ramsay place in town......
