Toon scout Graham Carr scours globe for talent
PaddockLad replied to Tooj's topic in Newcastle Forum
Aubameyang too, I strangely saw quite a bit if him playing for St Etienne, he looked brilliant and I secretly got more excited than a man of my "advanced years" should have when we appeared to be in with a chance. I think we got Rivière instead -
Well, what are you waiting for? Spill the beans, can you confirm he had a picture of Norman Tebbit in his office??

I'd forgotten about the Redknapp thing, you're right. Mort confirmed a meeting had took place but denied he'd offered the job. I wonder what they were talking about? Pre Raphealite artists? Moon landing conspiracies? The price of fish?... I think Redknapp confirmed not long after he'd turned us down, I think most would say "thankfully" -

He's been more good than bad, some slight criticism justifiable, but iyam we'd have been straight back down without him in 2010/11. You've got to look at some of the yes men and chancers Ashley has employed over the years to realise he's the only one who's had even the slightest idea what they've been doing when it comes to the football side of the club. His role probably got beyond him though, I think for most of his time here he has basically "been" the football side of the club. -

The Stoke game Dickie is on about, he got a very supportive ovation when he walked to the dugout from the travelling support as the players came out after half time. Stood right in front of us and clapped us back, fucker lapped it up. It's him and his bastard mates in the media who claim we drove him out of the club and every internet smart arse just repeats it, including journalists who should know better, but it's bollocks. Mort sacked him to get KK in. I'd like to think that's because Mort thought KK is a better manager, but I think it was probably to do with season ticket sales. -

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/07/21/sam-allardyce-and-the-american-lesson-that-buries-the-myth-of-hi/ Sam's the man because of a summer 30 years ago spent playing for Tampa Bay Rowdies We've heard all this cosmic fuckin buffoonery about him being one of the first managers to introduce proper sports science into the English game. What the fuck has he done with it though? Where have there been startling successes with it? He did ok with Bolton, that's fair, but one fifth place finish doesn't make you fuckin close to what KK achieved here. When he eventually got here, he was given a budget he's not had before or since and basically built the team who got relegated a year later. I'd like to know who represented who, and who got what in some of those deals, I think him and his son are a couple of pretty dodgy characters when it comes to transfer deals. So there you go, just below mediocre in ability and untrustworthy to the point of utter money-obsessed selfishness; just about right for the FA... -
Done deal according to Sky, medical today. Good player, lacks heart though.

There's votes in renewing trident though, regardless of it's merits as a deterrent. The witless 52% who voted to leave the EU will all think it's a good thing I imagine; "keeps us at the top table" etc etc Reckon CT could go either way on this, could go just against the consensus on here as per normal and think it's a wizard idea, just to be contrary.......or he could double bluff seeing as I've mentioned it and think renewal is a a waste of public money, and there's far easier ways of getting it into the back pockets of Tory party doners, just for the sake of contrayness...

So how many games is he likely to get with Coutnho still there?...has the bold Phillipe been strongly linked with anyone?

1. Taking everything that PR wankstains say at face value 2. Taking everything that politicians say at face value 3. Why would you really, and pretty much unquestionably, want to do that?

I've just read that US Secretary of State John Kerry phoned his counterpart in Turkey to assure him that the US had nothing whatsoever to do with inciting the coup in Turkey. Good enough for me

A lot of that reads that they've sort of accepted that relegation with Rafa was the second best outcome we could've had and were quite happy with it. They still quite can't believe it though

Frank Partridge on BBC world says the biggest problems are young Moslems in France being jailed for petty crime and coming out fully fledged jihadists. Also mentions French basically stopping Islamists taking over complelty in Mali and easy access to France for these bstrds due to EU open borders...
