Wolverhampton Wanderers v Newcastle United
PaddockLad replied to wykikitoon's topic in Newcastle Forum
It's ex mackem/wolves hair character Don Goodman who's claiming our goal shouldn't have stood isn't it? -
Think it depends on how you look at it. Council merely rubber stamps the policies the commission come up with as far as I can make out.

Well the ones who hold the real power in the EU aren't elected, I don't have much of an issue with that myself because as far as I can make out what they rule on doesn't affect me too much. Having said that, it's hardly demorcratic is it? And what do they have in store for us in the long term? Agree with all this mostly, I hear people being complelty dishonest/mis-informed/ blatantly scared out of their wits about immigration daily. I'm likely to be ok yeah, depends if there is a recession on the scale of the last one once we're officially "out" come 2019. I didn't work for four months either side of the Christmas in both 2008 and 2009, with periods of idleness all through both years and well into 2010. That's the reason I voted in, it's as simple as that. I also think ŵe should in general be tearing down barriers as much as we can, fuck the flag wavers, throughout history they've always been bad news. Sadly others are more easily lead.

I don't think my life has been affected by immigration in any way either and I compete for work with immigrants every day in construction/engineering, however I know dozens of people who voted out who you could say the same about. Some of my friends didn't want their kids being held back at school by them being in a class with lots of Eastern European kids in it all trying to learn proper English. I couldn't really tell them they were wrong. Whether it was the case in fact or not they were concerned about it. Add that to the sense of nationhood we're almost all brought up with being manipulated by Farage & co then it was a pretty easy decision for them. They're ordinary folk, not bigots or bar room racists or anything like that. I was a pretty reluctant remainer myself; the EU needed(s) massive reform to make it more democratic and accountable. But in its present form leaving wasn't worth the risk, the benefits of staying in were greater for me, and history and common sense told me that the public face of the leave campaign were people you just really couldn't trust in any way shape or form. But there was one thing I hadn't thought about and Trump getting in has magnified it; the world is changing, there are elections in the Netherlands and France in the next few months, if they both go with the populist anti EU ticket then I don't think the EU will survive in any form, Germany + the rest isn't worth the tears Nichola Sturgeon (among others) will shed over it. Normally I'm against flag wavers of any kind, that cunt Farage is just that, playing on people's fears. But if Brexit is the first break in the dam, if that is just the start of the dismantling of what is now a fairly monstrous bureaucracy then I'm coming round to the thought that it might not be such a bad thing. It might fuck a lot if other smaller nations over, but we'd all be in the same boat.

No doubt you got a good price for the tower from Pawel and Dariusz Do you have any time at all for the opinion that we've had too much immigration?

Very few sides in top level European football play 2 up front nowadays. Rafa never has as far as I can remember. It's not going to happen. I'm enjoying the football in this league, as far as I can make out there are more players who can actually play a bit and more sides trying to play attractive football than the last time we were down here. The thing about it is all the better sides are maddeningly inconsistent, including ourselves. That's because they have decent players who could be good or very good players if they did it 3 games in four for nine months instead of 1 or 2 games in four for 5 or 6 months. That's why they're not playing in the top division tbh.

Generic small time football blather thread 2015/16

Are Blyth full time now? My locals Poole Town went into national south (Blyth go into national north if promoted?) this season as part timers, playing on basically a school playing field. They're on the edge of the play offs into the vanarama but were threatened with relegation if they didn't improve the floodlights and build some sort of terracing. Think they'll miss out "accidentally on purpose" as going into what is basically divi 5 isn't viable as part timers getting crowds of 700 but with a population of 145k, which is ironic at the moment with Bournemouth on the doorstep who could probably get in excess of 20k if they stay in the premier league.

According to solicitors secretary Mrs PL find a solicitor who specialises in personal injury and who will do it on "no win no fee", they'll give you a 30 mins consultation for nothing. Apparently these things take a long time, and harsh as it may seem if "all" your nan suffered was cuts and bruises it may not be worth all the bother in the long run. Maybe go to the water board direct first?

Film/moving picture show you most recently watched
PaddockLad replied to Jimbo's topic in General Chat
T2, enjoyed it and as others have said it could've been massively disappointing, but I think it may have slightly overdone the references to the first film. It took a lot more from the original book than I was expecting and not a great deal from the second, and I suppose having decided that this film should have a nostalgic narrative, looking back at their youth, that's understandable. Dissappointed Juice Terry didn't make an appearance though -
Geddin, never in doubt

Ashley's like loaned us 33mill(is this since relegation? @@Happy Face) and thinks we should be pissing it http://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/broken-promises-cast-doubts-over-benitezs-future-pbqblr2dd?shareToken=1e65fc2fb9717907e76baf1a451028a3

Briefing against Ashley to the press may even see him off before then tbh. It looks like Ashley just hasn't even bothered to try to come to some sort of compromise about funds, he's just left it to Charnley and Carr who appear to have just fucked Rafa over. I thought yesterday the relationship may be salvageable but that looks unlikely now.

It was Autumn (March) when we did it, you're doing it in the summer so the weather should be better

There's dozens of unbeleiveable houses dotted all over the hills above the sound only accessible by boat or walking track. It's difficult to choose like but it was probably my favourite part, we were supposed to be staying for just a day but we went to Nelson (about 2 hours away) then went back to Picton for another couple of nights and did a cruise up the sound to Ships Bay where Captain Cook (the current Mrs PL is descended from his sister) moored up 7 or 8 times as he'd been "introduced" to the local Maori chiefs daughter

Had to google emetoohobic, aye she might struggle It's always blowing a gale in Wellington, we arrived for a lunchtime sailing and there wasn't a ferry in sight, the one we were waiting for left Picton at 7am and didn't arrive till 4pm (the crossing isn't more than 3 hours) The weather in the straight was horrendous that morning, to the extent there was an NZ tv crew waiting for it coming in (that shows how fabulously dull NZ is ) and filled the evening news bulletin with pictures of vomit all over the ship
