After the horrific tube and bus bombings in London in July 2005 we were due to play Arsenal at Highbury in one of the first fixtures of the season the following month. Am not of massive fan of LU at the best of times and I remember thinking "bloody hell, think I'll get a cab to the ground" which is of course utter bollocks, I'd never done it before so why would I start doing it now? So it was put to the back of my mind along with our abysmal record at Arsenal in general. I live on the south coast and got on the train that morning with several different feelings whirring around my stomach; trepidation, excitement etc.. it was only after getting off at Waterloo and heading down the escalator to the underground ticket hall that I realised that they'd all gone. It was at that point I think I learned a true life lesson; if you drink 6 cans of Stella on a train journey of 2.5 hours you're afraid of nothing and fuckin nobody Hope this helps, good luck with your studies

Giroud equalises for Arsenal at Southampton 87th minute; Van Dijlk caught on no mans land complelty misses a chance to head clear. Every time I’ve sat down and watched him play he’s been the same. Fuck knows why he’s in demand tbh

Newcastle United: Club Sold To PCP - Official

Richard Desmond Ashley Steve Wraith This Stavely wife keeps some awful fuckin company mind Someone on Twitter said that Desmond and Stavely attended a Bell Pottinger party together . Is it ok to be against her before we're sold? Is that unreasonable?.. -
There's a two year transitional period, and I've just listened to the PM and the dup wife list the bullet points. Campbell on 5live has just read out the massively ambiguous paragraph 49 of the agreement being trumpeted this morning. This isn't the end, this isn't the beginning of the end and it's definitely not the end of the beginning on the border issue for you folks. I think you'll end up with EU checks for lorries going South out of NI, but not till after the two year transitional period.

Is there anything to stop the EU setting up customs checks at the road north out of somewhere like Dundalk?...
-
It's just the wording the DUP object to? Not Dublin and the EU getting their own way in the border issue then? Just "words"?

PaddockLad replied to Dr Gloom's topic in Newcastle Forum
A spare ticket has appeared for what is bound to be a feast of football...seeing as media luvvie @Dr Gloom basically lives on the Kings road then I think the face price of a mere 30 sheckles will tempt him out of his 3 storey townhouse with underground parking & plungepool, skilfully avoiding an afternoon of Christmas shopping with the current Mrs Gloom and the carpet monsters -

I read something recently about that pic; it's apparently the earliest evidence of supporters wearing replica kit to games -

Am in attendance at this, first time in probably 6/7 seasons...last game of season, nicked a draw, first time Shooa & Sammy played?? Anyway, think we’ll get torn a new one but am actually looking forward to seeing Hazard play, that’s how cool, chilled out and magnanimous I am these days kids -
It’s strange...on the day North Korea claimed they could hit the west coast of the states with an ICBM as well....

I was on holiday in Croatia in July 2013. They'd just joined the EU. On every road that crossed into Bosnia Herzogovina a checkpoint had been built almost overnight. The locals told us that even during the Balkans war in the 90s there were no official checkpoints. There were long queues at every crossing point, causing havoc with the local economy. The EU had insisted they were built and the Croatians did as they were told. Seeing as the ECB have Ireland over a barrel financially am not sure what sort of deal can be struck when all but the most wilfully, stupidly pig ignorant, propagandising, lying, flag waving pieces of shit and those more than willing to be lied to by them can see that the UK have absolutely no leaverage whatsoever on this issue.

Don't know if any of our slightly more senior posters remember this series of documentaries about Shankly, Busby and Stein from the early 90s?..if you can put up with the awful vhs upload quality they're brilliantly put together by Hugh Mcilvanney; just about the best sports journo I've had the pleasure of reading (his books are excellent too)
