If Liverpool are desperate for Isak (and there is good grounds for thinking they might be not be) then making them come and beg for him is the right tactic. It can also be viewed simultaneously as a strange tactic after we spent a week trying to sign a replacement for him . I think that's what Liverpool meant in their statement about not coming back till "Newcastle open the door again" ... they'll come back when that's achieved. If we've not signed anyone by the time we play the fuckers on bank holiday Monday it gets really interesting; they'll be 7 days of the window left. If we've signed a striker before then hes off...if not it's 50/50... the world cup is next summer. He'll undoubtedly want to play at as near to peak fitness/sharpness as he can. He's utterly tainted forever but circumstances may be that he actually just needs to get his arse in gear, get his head down and play..

He was on strike when he didn't go to Korea. He's turning up for training now albeit away from the rest of the first team squad. But Howe is choosing not to include him in the match day squad. He might have to go through the formality of club discipline ie fined for not turning up for the plane. Howe covered for him up to that point (post Celtic) and all the way through the tour. I can think of a couple of reasons why Isak might not work in Liverpool's team... 1. Salah...if we accept that Isak's chief creator has been Jacob Murphy can AI expect the same level of service from someone who looks to score at almost every opportunity when he cuts in off his wing? 2. The apparent intention to play Etikike on the left to replace Diaz. That's the channel Isak regularly drifts into and with Etikike a centre forward by trade it's logical to suggest that they're both at times going to be looking to occupy the same space..

Everything is optional Dave. I personally will almost certainly watch NUFC in person till I physically can't.
