  1. In a significant way it’s not Truss who’s received the kicking from Lycett here, it’s Laura K and the BBC. He’s pricked the bullshit balloon of impartiality with a sarcasm so fuckin searing they’ll never have a non politician or business leader on ever again. The top journos have been leaving for LBC for years now so they can say what is actually going on in this country, see Maitlis in Edinburgh last week for details.
  2. That yesterday seemed bent for the reasons you and others have outlined . Others not so much as you say. There wasn’t a massive outcry from Man City fans & the football public in general when it was used in that game in our favour because VAR reached the correct decision that no one could reasonably argue with . Before VAR we did have the frankly ludicrous situation where the commentators and gimps in the studio could assess contentious decisions and incidents better than the refs on the pitch. The ref only has one view in real time. So now we have the equally ridiculous situation where the media have got their way with VAR but it’s being used to overturn demonstrably correct decisions as called on the pitch by the ref

  4. It was only ever a media talking point….”the refs need help, we have the technology!” People went along with it. I distinctly remember saying in here that it wasn’t required, that it was a media fad and only ever really benefitted folk watching tv. As you say it been predictably proven to be utter bollocks. Even when they’ve tried to change the rules of the game to suit it it’s been shown to be inanely fuckin irrelevant because it’s still humans making decisions.
  5. This is my key takeaway from todays game. Someone tell Gary Gloryhunter to fuckin stay at home next time, Adam P will end up taking a court order out against him

  7. Some of his friends will at some point plainly have to “stage an intervention”
  8. There was a Leicester supporter on here a few weeks ago explaining all this when we were in for Maddison
  9. Seems they’ve flogged their best young player to Brighton too
  10. I don’t think West Ham, Man U or Arsenal have the squads to cope with two games a weeking including Sundays for the next two months….thers a massive opportunity here, not just for us, maybe Brighton & Palace too? 🤔
  11. 15 games till the January window opens
  12. We were waiting for the trophy presentation at the end, didn’t appear though. Scouse cunts
  13. The bench weren’t as bad as that little fuckin scrote Harvey Elliott. Dancing around in front of us after their winner and celebrating by making gun signs with the goal scorer, in Liverpool, a week after a 9 year old girl was killed in her own home in the city. Wee fucker was also their best player…
  14. I think it’s interesting that our two best performances this season have been v the two best teams in the league. Basically they gave us room behind them & down their flanks to attack, Wolves & Brighton didn’t… that tempo is terrific but it gets disrupted when teams sit in. A couple of more windows and we might have the players to play a pressing game and keep possession better v massed defences
  15. Not sure if tv showed this, is from what one of our gang calls “the Thomas Cook Stand” choc full of Irish, Scandies, cockneys and other assorted day trippers, his brother is one of them, despite their dad being from Ryton. One scouse voice bleating on in the background. It’s as if teams aren’t allowed to do anything to try to beat them…
  16. Am sure that will happen at some point Tbh I’ve been less gutted at cup finals…am going to make a distinction here, in the first half we didn’t play them off the pitch but we fuckin pulverised them…don’t think Anfield had seen anything like it before and the champions league style celebrations at the end suggested they were knew they’d got away with 9 minute injury time fuckin murder…
  17. 14 years of neglect isn’t going to be sorted in two windows /thread
  18. Did you want Dubravka replacing at the end of last season? If you didn’t then we’re still in the same position ie Darrow is back up. It’s only an advantage to Man Utd if Pope gets injured….
  19. We love the odd cheeky midweek away with a stopover…there’s been some legendary nights over the years in such glamorous locations as Scunthorpe, Hull, Burnley (more than once) ….as you may expect from that list of sumptuous flesh spots , the result has often been at least as important as the cultural aspect of the trips So we couldn’t really resist a night on the piss in on of the great cities of empire with all that entails…
  20. 👏 for the title In an uncharacteristic rush to the head of early season optimism it was decided that South Coast Mags would travel en masse to Merseyside for the occasion of this seasons fixture at Anfield. Not as yet regretting such rashness although Saturdays shellacking dished out to Bournemouth has certainly concentrated our collective mind 😬
