Now we’ll see how moral these fuckers are if Mohammed Al Medievalistbastardo comes in for them -
Probables Bruno Schar Trippier Pope Possibles Wilson Joelinton Botman Burn Anyone else? 🤔

I’ve just read that and thought “well if Diego is saying Scotland actually did qualify that’s more than good enough for me!!” 😃 🏴🏴🏴🏴

We’re about as high in the league as we conceivably could be, the other surprise is Arsenal being above us and not Liverpool. We’re six points behind and the two above us both have a game in hand. We were top for three months the season we signed Bellamy & Robert. That was a challenge for the title, this is a challenge for the top 4 only iyam

Now Miggy plays the ball Jamming good with Sven and Longy… (don’t worry @Howmanheyman your position as TT bard is safe )

Midweek in the League cup @ Ayresome 92(?) is the diciest game I’ve been at…including 3 trips to Roker in the 12 o’clock kick off era….I watched one of the lord of the rings films where the dwarves enter a dark underworld inhabited by brutally violent orcs… that was a bit like the Boro game…

Where are they getting the data from for these voters in red wall areas?

I use stats all the time. Just not xG. It’s utter bollocks, which am fairly sure you know but would never publicly acknowledge
-
As usual, you’re ascribing things to me that I haven’t said. I don’t tend to heavily criticise Newcastle players. At the start of the season I said Miggy would be very important to the side in terms of work rate etc away from home when others were criticising him . You’re right, there’s no other way of describing his form at the moment other than a purple patch. But 6 goals in a month vs 1 goal last season doesn’t require a graph to come to that conclusion does it? I think it only even vaguely works for me when it’s used in comparison ie Player A v Player B, but Dave has given me examples of this where I’ve come to the same conclusion as him without needing a slide rule The earlier example about Everton’s defence is interesting though, it suggests there should be some stats around that suggest old T Rex’s form is improved from last season. Can you provide anything @The Fish??
-
Dave’s ignored this so I looked it up…now, am no expert obviously, but it would appear to me that Miggys xG * has gone up this season by nearly 300% Well colour me flabbergasted… I think we can now officially call xG “counting the number of goals scored “ https://understat.com/player/7420 * other stats are available which am sure are invaluable to football professionals. xG isn’t one of them though, it’s just fuckin counting
-
It’s not, because me you and every other fucker on here aren’t paid to recruit players. Has Miggys xG gone up this month by any chance?…
-
Ok Dave, I’ll be straight with you. You’re not telling me, and haven’t done for months on end, a single thing I don’t know, haven’t observed with my own eyes or can logically work out for myself. Now can you just accept that xG is utter fuckin bollocks so we can just get on with our lives? Thanks & best regards The posters of Toontastic 👍

So why would the snapshot of one seasons stats suggest anything in the future? The naked eye would suggest the striker is missing chances. Did Miggys stats before the 1st October 2022 suggest this? I have a feeling they may have. Is that something we could see with our own eyes? Do the stats indicate that he was about to have a massive upturn in his finishing ability due to seemingly intensive and specialised coaching? …
-
Can you predict a player’s potential with subjective data of what a player has done previously? Or is the data literally a snapshot? One thing stats fail to take account of properly is the opposition. A players figures are skewed by the quality he’s playing against. Useful for a myriad of things undoubtedly, but they don’t tell the whole story. And never will…

Good

Some of us don’t need the numbers as reassurance or back up Dave You can find a thread on here where I said Trippier was a utterly brilliant full back and would definitely play for England when he was at Burnley. No fucker was tipping him for that at the time. You’ve either got it or you haven’t….
-
The ideal result for us was Spurs finishing 3rd and being jettisoned into the Thursday night league* * I’d give a kidney to be booking up for any kind of European games next season tbh..pre season on the Isle of Wight would do
-
Yeah and don’t forget that official government figures are bollocks and emotive manipulative reporting in the Daily Mail is gospel 👍 The government are going to do the square root of fuck all about immigration, it’s a “necessary evil” to keep the gullible minority scared fuckin witless . Braverman is the useful idiot to deliver this, and the ERG/IEA mob have a placeman at the top of the cabinet table as a consolation prize after their chief goons lasted 10 minutes in charge

If we’re going for a Europa league place at least then it’s a sort of “self fulfilling prophecy”…if potential signings are told that this is the case, they can see our league position and how we’ve played, then we tell them the cup will be taken seriously then I think good players like him will be persuaded. Then European football looks more likely and more achievable. Which means we’ll need a bigger squad, which is literally what we’ll be doing in January, with the added bonus of 5 months bedding in at the club for the new players before next season’s assault on the top three I saw Trossard being interviewed at the weekend, he looks about 12 but he’s got grey hair
