Eddie’s title chasers against some league one outfit from Yorkshire
PaddockLad replied to Dr Gloom's topic in Newcastle Forum
Well yeah, agreed. But we’ve still only scored in three from five. That’s not all down to the quality of the squad overall is it, as you say at this stage of the project? They were scoring for fun before the WC break and it’s still the same players… The squad is what it is. We’re not finishing chances in all games. That’s the story of the restart. Not winning a one off cup game where we made 7 changes to the starting line up isn’t where we should be focusing our critical gaze iyam. Yes we looked ropey at the back and ineffective in midfield . We still created enough chances to win the game as we gave done in all games since we’ve come back bar maybe Arsenal. Fix that and we’re all good again. Barring injuries that might let these frightful reserve team players in 🙄 Let me ask a question. Why does Chris Wood look like a Sunday league player in front of goal at the moment? Where the fuck has any semblance of confidence he may have had disappeared to? Because if Eddie Howe is this all conquering utterly unreal coach he’d be able to sort that right out shouldn’t he?…,please don’t read that as a criticism of Eddie Howe or Chris Wood for that matter. They’re both only human and I think beneath the instant reaction post game and recriminations the day after for hours on end we forget that. These are people with human failings. He visibly shrinks when he gets a chance now, and Jacob Murphy isn’t far behind him. Neither are anywhere near good enough for where we’re going, but they’ve gone backwards since the restart iyam. Under Eddie Howe. It doesn’t make any sense does it? Yes we can say “they’re both shit get rid NOW!” but that’s unlikely to happen this month . I don’t pretend to have any answers but two days of lamenting the squad that Ashley and Bruce built isn’t identifying what we can change to start scoring more goals again. Because I can’t see us singing another centre forward this month either. We’ll see. -

You do realise that the entire squad have only scored in 2 out of 5 games after the World Cup break don’t you? Isak & Murphy finish their chances on Saturday and a billion megabits of bandwidth would’ve been saved on this forum due to folk not lamenting how utterly shit the squad is outside of maybe 14 players. If we don’t beat Leicester it’s an official dip in form and probably where we should be after our supernatural highs in the Autumn. It doesn’t bother me too much tbh, October to mid November was fuckin unreal but taking everything into account the true ability of the squad is probably a bit closer to our pre October travails than what came pre Christmas. We’ll see, the Bournemouth, Leeds and Sheff Weds games all contained the chances for us to win those games. But with Wilson & Isak only seemingly fit for half a game and Miggy possibly going back into his shell a bit you have to wonder where the goals will come from… -
Talking to an electronic box. Putin is watching your fuckin thermostat Gemmill and you don’t even care

I think they may fix that…one massive semi then one of them possibly v us = a massive final . Man City v NUFC, repeat of 1976 final…..

Big shout out to DJ @thebrokendoll on the ones & twos there as well, cheers bruv

Apart from the Leicester game we’ve missed chances to win all the other games we’ve drawn or lost since the restart. Our form in general isn’t as good as our mid Octoberish peak. but we’ve played ok. This is in a way reassuring, most teams have peaks and troughs. If the chances go in we settle into a rhythm and see games out fairly easily. Some new faces will give the squad fresh impetus. Those having a wee dig at Eddie last night n the immediate aftermath of a disappointing result hopefully have pause to think on this morning…. mind if Leicester put us out we’re putting some posters on suicide watch -

Largely agree, that’s why the ones that have come in haven’t played all season. But most people’s expectations have gone through the roof and think that our squad players are now below where they expect us to be…,that’s bollocks because they’re still our squad players. Even Eddie Howe can’t boost Chris Wood’s confidence in front of goal. Two games in a row now… -

I’ve not seen any comments like that, on the contrary people seemingly think an entire squad can change in two windows…. -

It’s Longy and Joelinton in the middle, Murphy and Ritchie wideish with Elliot in behind Isak . You can pick your own “midfield playmaker” from them I reckon or are you complaining about a lack of creativity 40 minutes before kick off? -

Well if he wants out this month 🤷🏻♂️ -
It’s not really about privacy, it’s about H & M being in control of their own narrative, not Piers fuckin Morgan. Harry has realised that his grandmother prevented not only his own father from marrying the woman he loved when he wanted to (meaning that if this had happened in the 70s when it should have he wouldn’t exist) but she also did it to her own sister previously. He also saw his fathers entire family & the snivelling servile flunkies they pay to keep them where they feel they should be treat his mother like a brood mare then promptly jettison her when she’d served this purpose (they are also the ones he’s chiefly fingering for his own wife’s unhappiness, not that am certain that she’s entirely blameless herself) Then he saw his mother chased to her death by grasping ghouls desperate to feed a media she had foolishly got into bed with herself at one point. Made to wander through the streets of London following her coffin with billions across the planet watching on before his bollocks had dropped, without as much as a comforting cuddle from his father apparently. Given all this no wonder he’s fucked up. He’s the one actually trying to be normal because the UKs deference to these fuckin sub normal twats definitely isn’t normal. His father and his brother are just going along with it as before, whistling away, “nothing to see here” and keeping their fingers crossed that the arseholes represented by THE GREAT BRITISH PUBLIC TM don’t tipple that they’re taking the fuckin piss and metaphorically chop their fuckin heads off. Harry has handled it badly though, but I suppose it was never going to be easy, trying to change 1000 years of arse kissing and patronage. But that’s where $2663478860000 worth of US style therapy gets you I suppose…get it all out there… The ball is now firmly in The Firm’s court. I expect nothing whatsoever of any significance will change at all though. Why should they change when they look at the crowds flocking to mourn a 96 yeah old harridan they’d never met who died of natural causes? They need to be made to take jobs, Charles can be a gardener for the National Trust, William can fly the people he wants to continue to kiss his arse until he pops his clogs to Majorca every summer, he’d suit the EasyJet uniform. His wife and step mother can run the local Sue Ryder and Oxfam shops, they’re definitely that type. I couldn’t give a fuck how the whole dysfunctional bastard tribe are viewed from abroad, they don’t have “magic”, all the have is a bunch of murderous rampantly ambitious ancestors who were even bigger cunts than the current crop. Power over anything significant needs to be removed from all of them. It’s fundamentally wrong that in the US & most of Europe any child born within a nation state’s borders can conceivably become the principle citizen of that country but in the UK and large parts of it’s fuckin “empire” that’s not possible, it’s reserved for one utterly dysfunctional family who are literally no better than any other fuckers family
-
He’s been in therapy in the US. This is just the next stage, only open to the famous & marketable though obvs. I sort of get why he’s done it, his critics don’t have a lot of legitimate ammo left if he’s put it all out there. Still hoping for a reconciliation with his father and brother shows a high level of delusion though, cunt should be fuckin sectioned for thinking that’s a possibility now

You’re right about that goal. The noise when it went in was primeval… RIP Vialli, read an article about him once apparently he was from a wealthy background, think it said he was brought up in a castle When he was coming through at Sampdoria Souness joined from Liverpool and corrupted him into the wicked ways of drinking beer for 12 hours solid etc etc think Mancini was a young player there too, Souness was apparently a big influence on both of them.. -
You should share your thoughts with Toonpack, he’s our pet Jambo I’ve had a pint with the goalie the Binos put 20 past v Selkirk sometime in the 80s, he worked with a lad I was at the local tech with. Id have never known but our mutual friend introduced us …..”mind when Selkirk Vics lost 20 nil? this fellae was the goalie!!” …

Are you a closet Jambo or just a fan of amusingly surnamed midfielders?
