  1. He contributed to one of those Facebook pages eg “pictures of football from the 80s” that pops up now and then … I knew it was him after about two sentences Great to see he’s thriving in spite of everything. Two kids is a blessing
  2. I met Keegan at a book signing in Southampton. My now wife had to step in and stage an intervention before we had a full blown row as to whether Kelso was in Scotland or England
  3. Antonio kept on dragging him out of position. Improved 2nd half like the rest of them
  4. Ask Eddie if he remembers when I offered to buy him and his teammate Richard Hughes a whisky? (He declined )
  5. Him and Jack would go to Roker or SJP if there was a decent game on. Jack is a self confessed Mag, his brother was too focused on a career in the game to profess love for any individual club. So they can all fuck off
  6. Yeah that’s a good piece. I think Newcastle folk hate that neither brother played for Newcastle and bare a grudge. Jack now gets a pass because he retired back to Ashington but when he was Ireland manager he was widely described as a traitor. Everything else that’s thrown at BC is irrelevant shite to this central point. I’ve read his books and he describes the scene where Jackie Milburn is sat at the kitchen table having been sent from the club and was basically telling him not to bother as the club was a fuckin basket case. BC four uncles all played professionally, he’d spend a few summers doing pre season with Bradford City where one of them played. Bobby had three brothers too and they were the most popular kids in the street because when the uncles visited they’d often bring an old casey with them so the Charltons were invariably the only kids on the street with a football. The wife/mother fall out was obviously unpleasant but no one’s business but the falmily’s . Anyone going in strong on BC is wandering down “mackem behaviour lane”… look at that thread, it’s full of people offended by the irrelevant actions of others. Stop it. Now.
  7. Are we now seeing that we’re a better attacking unit at home with Murphy rather than Miggy on the right?…difficult for me to imagine that Miggy would have been able to replicate Murph’s two assists yesterday
  8. A keen fan of Deutsche Fußballkultur of my acquaintance was in attendance at the Signal Iduna on Friday night for their fixture v Werder Bremen and produced this for the perusal of NUFC’s technical team
  9. Bobby told his mother’s cousin to shove NUFC up his arse . He was a scout for the club, some no mark fly-by-night called Jackie Milburn, who advised “am not sure why you’d sign for these Bobby lad”…
  10. I think NUFC supporters are harsh on Bobby Charlton. I’d only have eyes for Man Utd if I’d climbed out a plane wreck for them then lifted the European Cup for them. Oh in between that won the World Cup. He’s England’s greatest ever player. That he apparently changed as a person is a concern for family, no fucker else . Though I think that’s overstated a bit tbh . Didn’t Jack present him with a lifetime achievement award?
  11. See, normal people consider what you’re asking them to do here and think to themselves “hmmm… reckon I’d look a bit of a twat humming tunelessly into my phone…” Hope this helps x 😘
  12. Yeah…here they are in action…
  13. I think Gemmil and Wikki might have over done the espresso machine a bit this morning
  14. Peter Allen who retired from the tea time slot in 2014 & from the station in 2016?… that Peter Allen? 🤔
  15. No. In Tamworth Labour vote went up by 800 and went down in mid Beds. Tories just didn’t bother turning out in both. That’s not going to happen at a gen. elect. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Starmer is going to be the next PM but that map has Poole turning Labour. I’ll eat a fuckin hatstand and all the hats on it if that happens next year
  16. Don’t you work in publishing? ….
  17. Neves…. a more consistent and slightly more mobile Shelvey? 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️
  18. Spent too much time in Italy this summer
