  1. [/sherlockholmes] It's in County Durham, but just ten minutes outside of sunderland. I class it as sunderland because the place is full of mackems
  2. Fair enough, if that's what you want to believe!
  3. a bit like lesbians edit: especially lesbian Librarians I don't think I look too bad for a librarian actually-not a lesbian though. Sorry!
  4. wasn't someone else on here a book monger? p.s. I await the inevitable swarm of lechery That was me, a filth book monger..... It's a class job and I would love it, except it's in sunderland. Really need to get into the new city library when it opens!
  5. Don't know if I should admit this, but I'm a librarian.
  6. Didn't think I'd ever want to see us in a Kappa kit, but if it looked like that one, it wouldn't actually be so bad.
  7. Still one of my favourite ever moments following NUFC. Lee Clark was sitting in front of me and joining in even though he was still playing for Fulham at the time!
  8. Oba. The lack of movement up front since he's been out is terrifying at times.
  9. And since when does being a lass stop you being a committed geordie toon fan? Just curious... It doesn't, they just didn't exist in our support before 1992/1993, and all of the rest of the SKY jesters hat circus that came with it, same as people with mackem accents. I reckon before 1992, baring in mind Sunderland had just been in the top flight, and a Cup Final, County Durham would've been 95/5 Sunderland. Today I reckon it's probably 60/40 in our favour. Fair enough. Tbh, I have felt the temptation to punch a number of the lasses in our support anyway...especially one who was screaming everytime Taylor got the ball in a home game this season, and one who actually had a banner saying "I love Michael Owen" at Arsenal away last year. Have to admit, I didn't go to games before Sky, but I was seven and my dad wouldn't take me to any, so I think I've got a good excuse (I make up for it now)! And I work in County Durham, and the train home (going through Seaham and sunderland) when we have an evening KO is always packed full...so you might have a point there.

  11. How shit has it really been though? For a good chunk of those 11 years, we were playing in Europe, making big signings, getting to FA Cup finals/semifinals...even last year, when it started to go downhill, KK came back and we all started to feel positive again. This is the first time things have really started to look completely hopeless and he's jumped the first opportunity he's gotten. And I could have taken him signing for City in the summer at least...but City would still have been there in the summer had he been so desperate to go there. We need him now and he couldn't even give us a few more months.
  12. Had a thought at the match today...anyone else think JFK is scared to have both Enrique and Duff on the same side of the pitch? Wouldn't be surprised-the two of them can be completely out of it when they want to be, and could be easily torn apart by a decent player.
  13. Wish I didn't feel like this, but I can't help but feel he's screwed us when we needed him most...and to sign onto the latest billionaire bandwagon too. I mean, City...wtf?
  14. Nothing for home cup games either. I was told for years by the box office that they counted towards my loyalty total, and so I continued getting UEFA Cup tickets through my season ticket. Sat on my own up in Leazes Level 7 for years, only to find this summer that it had all been for nothing!
  15. It might just be cos it was a crap game, but Where's LuaLua He's got malaria at Fratton Park a couple of years ago had me laughing all the way home.
  16. Link isn't working for me, but I know it was home to Liverpool in the 5th round of the League Cup, January 1998. My mam didn't let me go to games until then, but my dad nagged her until she finally let him take me and my brother as a late Christmas present. My strongest memory is just of driving into town, seeing St James all lit up and getting insanely excited at the thought of being inside St James for the first time. Should've known better-as far as I can remember, it was a crap game and we lost in extra time to goals from Owen and Fowler.
