Who hopes Palace get relegated and Guehi leaves on a free?
Kid Dynamite replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
Im dubious. He's just had the tournament of his life. His stock is at an all time high. He's hardly looked a world beater in his last 2 games for Palace. My main gripe now is I'm struggling to believe that at £70m, there isn't another RCB in world football on a par with Guehi. -

There's no way we've spent a month on this without some encouragement from the Palace side. I'd release a statement to say they've taken the piss, the press leaks have all come from their side and we are rescinding the offer -
What sort of wages is he asking for!?

https://x.com/GraemeBailey/status/1829134162936164418 It's laughable now

Howay then, what we thinking? We get Guehi over the line? We get an alternative CB in instead? We get a CB and a RW? Or all goes quiet and fuck all happens like the bad old days!?

He's missed 39 games in 12 months apparently, with 3 completely different injuries. I hope it's just a bad year and he hasn't got Wilson's body type
-
Chiesa probably has a £10m signing on bonus, £10m in agents fees and is on £300k pw

Almiron linked with Fulham

It would be a tough sell to convince Chiesa to choose us over recent CL/PL winning Liverpool tbf

The frustrating thing for me is how some other clubs seem to conclude big deals in a matter of days. Liverpool close to signing Chiesa and just signed Mamardashvili, despite only being linked with them a few days ago. City's Gundogan deal was done in about 48hours. Felix to Chelsea was done quickly too. We haven't really done any "deals" yet. 2 x free agents, a GK as part of a swap deal, an automatic purchase for Hall and a reserve striker from a relegated team. Im all for not spunking money on the wrong players, but the likes of Isak, Bruno, Tonali, Gordon and Joelinton aren't here to challenge for 7th again with zero additions to the 1st XI -
I can tell you now that the NHS is BY FAR the worst I've seen it in my 23 years of working there. Patients are dying avoidable deaths due to lack of beds and lack of staff. We can't get patients out of hospital because we don't have enough social workers, nursing homes or community carers. Patients who should be treated in hospital are sent home too soon because we need their beds, which often leads to a failed discharge and an even longer admission second time round. I dread to think what will happen if the NHS and social care budgets get cut any further. And this is all happening in a world where Shell made £11,000,000,000 profit in the last 6 months.

And still after Osimhen.

This blokes not far off missing 100 games through injury in 4 seasons. There can't be many players in the league with a worse injury record? Other than DCL, who we also tried to sign for some inexplicable reason!

As an "alternative" kid In the mid 90s I was banging out Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Green Day, Rancid, Offspring, RATM, Soundgarden etc. I never got on the whole Britpop/Indie train so can thankfully watch the scramble for tickets from afar!

I was at the Burnley game on Saturday. I couldn't tell you if he was any good as a keeper though cos Sunderland's strikers were aiming for row Z
-
Gutted if he ends up there. Although not sure how much game time he's getting with Salah, Jota, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Gakpo and Nunez all playing across the front 3

Film/moving picture show you most recently watched
Kid Dynamite replied to Jimbo's topic in General Chat
He's had some great films tbf. - Raising Arizona is an 80s classic. - Con Air, The Rock and Face Off all came out in the same year in the 90s. - The National Treasure movies were an easy watch the 00s - Even though he's had some turds recently, he's also had some good stuff like Pig, Mandy, Colour out of Space and The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent 42 years he's been acting and still going strong -
Got family in Witton Gilbert

He only trained twice last week apparently

Sounds like Schar is retiring from the national team
