The worst Winter in the NHS's history. No beds, no staff, ambulances queued out the door, no social care placements to get the old folks out of hospital. Just gridlock in the whole system. Which ends up with people being discharged before they are ready to free up beds and then having a failed discharge and ending up in the ED within 24hrs again.

To add balance, the bairn woke up with a swollen face last week. I was loathed to take her to the Emergency Department (and knew I would be waiting 6 hours) so rang 101. Got an appointment at a walk in centre 30mins later and was seen within 5 mins. Diagnosed with a blocked salivary gland and told to eat lots of sugary sweets (which she loved).

They were kicked out of the playoffs last season because their lease on the ground wasn't long enough. Been sorted in case they go up this season apparently
