I don’t think he was great yesterday & it’s a testament to how well the team played that he couldn’t be targeted as a weakness.

He didn’t play the ball & grabbed both the player & his shirt to the extent he fell on the floor. The rules state that it’s a red card, if the ref didn’t get a good enough view the linesman should have flagged. Hume also should have been sent off.

Ballard was completely out of his depth & I’m not sure what further they needed to illustrate that point. He scored an own goal & conceded a penalty but he probably shouldn’t have been on the pitch to do so!

Well i think the entire presentation was set up to pander to Sunderland fans as given our recent form & injuries the idea of an upset wasn’t massively unlikely. So talking about them as a big club who should be doing better was very much par for the course. If we’d won 7/8 of our last fixtures rather than lost & made progress in the cup competitions it may have been a different story. They lost however, they had a “free hit” and we played them off the park, reducing them to the odd speculative effort or rough challenge on a sixth former.

Yeh, if Clarke had made Trippier look his age and tortured him all game perhaps but Tripps had him completely neutralised. For the other two, Ballard practically threw the fixture and I’ve never heard of Neil If they get £8m for Clarke they should take it.
