  1. Wonder if Ashley would have "passed" the test that he is putting new bidders through..?
  2. Just wonder if we should have just given Ashley a Business Plan... Just sent this to all clubs in July 09.. Selling all senior squad for £100 Mill.. send me an e-mail with who you want and they are yours.. anyone left will be on ebay for puplic auction.. Well seems to be me all he is bothered about is his 100 Mill.. Why the HELL did we sell out to this Knob.
  3. Half the problem for Taylor has always been that he has been surrounded by Muppets! Bass and Taylor actually looked like making a good partnership given time.. one of my first managers always used to state that Centre half players acually reach their prime at 27/28 - as it is more about reading the game than a lot of positions.. hence the likes of Sol carry on well into their later ages of football life.. If you look at his England performances he actually looked a half decent young centre half.. with good coaching and other players around him who he doesn't have to constantly worry " are they in position... are they going to track back... are we going to give the ball away in midfield again.." I think he is among the better players in the prem.. not world class though.
  4. Well well well .. another over paid footballer who stated he wants to get us back into Premiership is leaving.. I've come to the conclusion their all scum and money grabbing twats. I think a local Sunday league match against the likes of Owen, Duff and Taylor if he goes is needed to give them back some of the frustration the fans have had over the last 2 years.. well perhaps if they had actually tried a little harder last season they might just be in the Premiership... perhaps!???? Isn't it about time to walk out from the club.. I lovely attendance of just away fans would be good to send Ashley a clear message .. no more money from us to you.. it is clearly a fire sale.. the danger is if anyone shines in the next couple of games they will be sold.. he is after as much money as he can.. what he does next I don't think he knows.. is he just plain thick or is this all planned in advance? His retail business is founded on core principles.. cheap & nasty! This is going from bad to worse "IF" this SSN story is true... but heah the papers and press tell us more than our club!
  5. If anyone has not read his book I'd recommend it. The guy was amazing. Great football mind and just a shame he has passed away - but as in life he gave it a good fight! I still can't believe he was "sacked" by the club - just shows you how the problems at the club have always existed, he never deserved that in my opinion. Having lived in Ipswich I know how much he was loved down there. Thoughts go out to his family and I hope he can rest in peace. God Bless Sir Bobby.
  6. http://goal.com/en/news/9/england/2009/07/...stle-united-bid Also just announced on Sky Sports News.. Administration is actually looking like the only way of getting rid of them
  7. Easy - anyone apart from the club..DOH!
  8. Good luck to them I say - nice to see a club with tradition and history doing well. So many struggling at the moment.. including us.
  9. The club is no longer a PLC so can be bought and sold very quickly if both parties so choose If being the important word of course.. I still think he was sent up North by Spurs board to deal a death blow to us.
  10. Not sure where it started.. probably with being from Newcastle - family from Wallsend & Byker.. went to the 1974 cup final all be it in my Mam's womb.. then used to listen to their games on world service from Africa, before returning to UK. Teenage years were fun with all friends supporting first Liverpool.. then Man Utd ... then Arsenal.. oh and then back to Liverpool.. all of this of course in Norwich (edit: I might add that to be honest having spent a lot of time in Norwich - they used to play good football & do have a lot of loyal fans.. just not all ).. whilst they used to laugh & joke about Newcastle.. well thought I'd had the last laugh with us turning things around under Keegan (1st time.. or technically 2nd time.. maybe even 3rd time.. how many times is it now he's technically left?? .. Not looking so good now.. Still working on turning my wife to them.. even took her to the Fulham game (what a stupid stupid stupid thing to do!!!).. there was me thinking.. it'll be great we'll win & stay up.. probably not the best way to convince her.. Still it goes on.. supporting The Toon never is dull...
  11. So on the day he gets rid of 100 jobs he then states he is going to sell the club for 100 mill.. Really does smell of coming up here with 1 aim.. I'll be so pleased to see the back of him & the rest of the wasters & hangers on that are currently part of the 1st team. 1st Division here we come - but heah we'll have the best ground in it - that's if we don't have to take it apart for scrap metal to pay Ashley's debts for him.
  12. Fantastic - really made me laugh when I read the post. Thanks for brining a bit of humor to it all - been depressed ever since those dark clouds fell over St James with 10-15 minutes left against Fulham. All seems a little quiet on the Shearer front..
  13. Depends on what happens over the summer and who is manager.. (owner I think being the right question..))>.. Anyone got a few mil to buy out Ashley?
  14. Gutted - 16 years.. 13 of which we were in Europe.. yet we are playing Championship.. at least the standard of the football matches what we are capable of. TBH - I set myself up for relegation 3-4 games ago.. just gutted the way we went.. At least it means we have an excuse to: 1: get rid of Butt who can't find his own players.. 2: get rid of Duff who is Dull.. and again can't pass the pall.. 3: get rid of Owen who spends more time on injury list than training.. 4: hopefully get rid of Ashley.. who never had the heart of the club.. Question is.. who takes over and does something.. St James in Championship ... mad..
  15. Come on Newcastle... What a way to end a horrid season.. lots of midlands teams tho - so cheap away tickets for me.. Wonder who will go & stay.. half the tam couldn't make it into a Championship team..
  16. we've had it - can't see us scoring.. can't believe that a deflected own goal sends us down.. COME ON NEWCASTLE!!!
  17. edited: this team, with few exceptions, couldn't give a shit and are cunts. Not all - just some.. and lets be honest - the club bought them.. so it says a lot about the management at the club at the time. First good thing Shearer did was sort the basic problem with the 1st team - lazy money grabbing thugs - it gives us a little bit of respect at last! If we go down so be it - lesson learnt hopefully for those in power.. don't paint all the players with the same brush, there are some who have tried.. and that is all I will ever ask of an player who puts a B&W shirt on.. if your not good enough then .. questions have to be asked of the management not the player.. Personally out of the three teams going down I give us the best chance of coming out of it in a better position.. but still can't imagine St James in the Championship - cause lets be honest the football we have played over the season is Championship written all over it.. HOWAY THE LADS!!! get behind the team today is what I say..
  18. Let's not stop at 3-1.. lets send them down with a 4th or 5th!! Still think we need to get something from other games, but this so much more like it!!
  19. Butt is useless.. never rated him TBH purely on giving away unneeded free kicks and poor passing/distribution. Owen is useless and to be honest looks like he knows he only has 4 weeks left and is sulking, but then judging by Martin's attempts at goal recently we need someone who can get a goal, but lets be honest no one up front is getting any service. Smith on the radio sounded a brighter player, but then was that BBC commentary..? Tempted to say go down.. stick youngsters in and get rid of dross in the club, but then worry that we will free fall.. especially with wage contracts.
  20. Oh nothing much there then.. at this rate it will be must win against Villa in the final game.. whilst listening to Boro result.. Gutted tho as Norwich look like their down and I was hoping for cheap tickets close to home.. always Forest & Leicester I suppose..
  21. Agreed It wasn't so much today's result that mattered - it was the fact that the results yesterday did not help us.. making today more important, even a single point today would have been better than none, as the gap now remains 4 points... A lot closer to going down I'd say..
  22. I'd say it's not really just in our hands.. this weekend is a MUST win game - we have to start getting some point on the board, however.. Boro look in a worse situation as do West Brom. That leaves any of 5 teams, us included.. lol!
  23. Between the two we should have made at least £30 mil.. but heah I wonder if this is some master plan.. t*** needs to * off and leave the North East or learn how to run a football club.
  24. Why the hell was he not included as part of the Given deal.... this board just does not get it. Could be that Man City are laughing all the way back to the bank.. Given for a cheap deal and then a "promise" to deal on Johnson.. Muppets! Sooner we get rid of current board the better.
