Seconded, I actually rate Baines higher than Chimbonda myself, think he'll be a cracking LB in a couple of years time, already quite good. Chimbonda would be a vast improvement at RB to Carr and Ramage and I'd love him here, though mostly because one of my best mates is a Wigan fan. He's got Chimbonda on the back of his jersey too, oh how sweet it would be. For my 21st last year he got a couple of the lads to chip in and bought me our new home strip but as a joke got 'Bellamy 10' on the back. If we signed Chimbonda and Bellers this summer I'd spend a good week on the phone laughing at him.

Aye, Souness said as much on some SKY programme last week about the injuries being the reason we've improved. Reckon it's definitely a sly dig from Glen. He did something similiar a few weeks after taking over, subtely hinting in an interview that Souness was absolutely clueless. Thing about Roeder is he seems a very smart fella, and would make sure that his digs were easy to pass off as coincidence.

You don't say? Anyway, Roeder has become the safe option for Freddy. He could appoint him now and the majority of fans would support him. Roeder seems quite competent and would do a stable job at the very least. But the chances of Roeder being the man to take us into the Top 2 or 3 are very slim, if we want that we'll most likely need a more adventurous appointment.

It's his demeanor that gets him so much flack. He looks awkward and disinterested at times, and therefore is an easy player to have a go at. Couple that with the fact that he has played alongside Shearer, a completely unideal partner for him, most of his games for Newcastle and the reason he's so maligned comes apparent. Shearer is spared criticism from a lot of Newcastle fans, so when things are going wrong Shola was the easy target, rather than dare contemplate that it may be partly Shearer's fault too. We need a couple of good strikers in the summer, don't blow all our strike budget on one player again, and we'll be fine. Bellamy and Anelka for me if possible. Shola as 4th choice would be better than the vast majority of teams in the EPL's 4th choice strikers, and I hope he stays.

Pack of queers over there tbh.

Don't you go on Wrestling forums? 126025 Yes, yes I do. Though just the one in fairness. Just Wullie seemed an unlikely candidate to go to a wrestling show. 126049 Goes to every home game in spandex - FACT! 126055 Nah, armchair fan myself. And it's comfortable, so sue me.

Owen, who presumably hasn't seen Gerrard at all since he left Liverpool, walks through the door at Anfield and is shocked to see his former teammate. The two awkwardly walk towards each other and Owen timidly mutters Owen: Hello. Gerrard: Oh, eh... hello. Owen: Good to see you. Gerrard: Yeah. Em... so, you're back? Owen: Yeah, its great to... em... great to be back. Gerrard: Been a while, a lot's gone on since you left. Owen : Yeah... *fighting back tears* ... when I saw you lifting the Champions League I was so... *sniff*... I was so proud of you. Gerrard: *Also fighting tears*... Thank You. I just wish... well... I just wish you could have been there... *blubbering*... just like we always talked about. Owen: Listen Stevie, I'm sorry I left. And I'm sorry I kind of drifted away. I made some mistakes... *A few moments of awkward silence* Owen: But you don't drag me down... *his teeth chattering with emotion*... I drag me down. But you... you complete me. Gerrrard : *In full tears now*... Shut up, just shut up... You had me at hello.

He's in the papers today waffling about how Alan Shearer can have any job he wants at the club from turnstile operator to Chairman. Go on Alan, tell him you want the Chairmans job and watch his fat face drop 123427 He should wind Shepherd up by requesting a different job every week. FS: Hi Alan. AS: Hi Freddy. FS: Why the long face Alan? AS: Oh I dunno......things just aren't working out for me as a steward. When I left the box office to do this I thought it sounded perfect, but.....I dunno. I'm just not happy. FS: Alan, I've always said you can have any job you want. You name it, it's yours. AS: REALLY!?!? I want to sell the pies! But only if I can keep my steward's walkie talkie? 123445 This would be an awesome idea for a TV Show. Every week Alan tries to find a job he likes but in Curb Your Enthusiasm-esque fashion it all seems to just go wrong for him.

I really hope you're gonna make a Alan Shearer compilation with all his Newcastle goals! 123531 May I suggest the song 'You're the Best Around' from The Karate Kid as the backing music, that would be truly awesome. 123541 No Easy Way Out from Rocky IV tbh. 123543 Probably be quite a long video, he could use both of them in fairness. The changeover would be hilarious. Now that it's been mentioned I'll actually be upset if this doesn't happen.

Disagree totally. His mistake was appointing Souness in the first place, but to back a player over the manager would have set a truly horrible precedent that would have shattered his credibility as a chairman. If a new manager wished to try to re-sign Bellamy and Freddy said no then that would be poor on Freddy's behalf, but at the time he had to back Souness.

United stay cool over O'Neill for England reports
Shak replied to Scottish Mag's topic in Newcastle Forum
He played in the Premiership for Leicester Won them their first trophy since 1991 last season Does that really matter? Seria a 1 Juventus 80 2 Milan 73 3 Internazionale 71 4 Roma 63 Played 33 W 22 D 5 L 6 F 61 A 25 GD 36 Also QF of the Champions League and in the final of the Coppa Italia 120166 Perhaps expectations are too high at Inter, but they're very high here too. Bottom line is with the resources he's got there he's underachived, as the fact that he's being forced out illustrates. I've heard that apparently he does speak English so you can strike that one, and of course it matters. Personally don't think a whole lot of the Italian League these days. Mancini would be a massive risk to me. I personally rate Roeder quite highly so it wasn't so much a knock on Mancini as you might think. We need someone who'll bring us some stability. Mancini could be a total disaster. -

His hair is the business to be fair to him, but appointing Mancini here would be a shocking decision. No experience of Premiership football, underachieved at Inter and doesn't speak English. I've seen Inter play a couple of times this year and they're generally quite poor. Roeder would be a better appointment. -
As long as he's not part of our first choice strike pairing, I'm happy to have him in the squad next season. Nowhere near as bad as some people make out, just looks clumsy and does stupid things that get on your nerves when you're watching him on your team.

Aye, probably Peasepud acting the bollox again.
-
Emre needs to be in a 3 man midfield to get the best out of him in my opinion. Not a ballwinner and doesn't get forward enough to be the attacking midfielder. A midfield trio of he, Parker and Bowyer would be interesting.

That'll be me then, only a small forum and I thought the thread deserved posting. http://thewrestlingasylum.com/showthread.php?t=3646 Luckily I hardly ever post here, so my credibility being destroyed shouldn't do too much harm. 117085 You need to register to see the thread and there's no way I'm stooping that low. 117092 Only 3 replies anyway, one from me and one from that guy who posted in here and another that says "ha ha, funny shit". Probably not worth your while tbh.

All will become clearer after this summer. Can't say it bothers me he's more interested in the World Cup at all. We've nowt to play for this season and the World Cup comes once every four years. This World Cup should, in theory, represent Owen at his peak, and with the set of players they have England have a good chance of winning it. Of course it's his main focus. He does owe us another season though, and if he fucks off in the summer I'll be as pissed as anyone with him. But his peroccupation with England doesn't really bother me at present.
-
Both. Past his best, but still a massive part of our club. I do believe he has become a negative presence the last two years at least though.
-
Both. Bad manager who was exposed by his run of bad luck. Would have been found out eventually, the bad luck he had just speeded the process.
