  1. Apparently the players are not accepting the bonuses if they win due to the club being fucked and that. At least that's what O'Hara said on the radio earlier. Fair play to them. Good to see them through, David v Goliath final. Left an interesting predicament though - I'm sure I read somewhere that Portsmouth lost their membership of UEFA because the governing body refuses to acknowledge clubs in administration. Their win today effectively guarantees them the Europa League place that the cup winners receive (Chelsea will finish top 4 and therefore the Champions League will take precedence for them). Wonder how UEFA / FA will play this one... Personally I think it's criminal, deemed by winning the competition or it being passed down it's still a recognisable reward, and therefore despite administration and relegation, I feel as if Portsmouth have been harshly done over for a priviledge that is rightly theirs.

Unfortunately not really, it was a bit reckless of me, but the match itself was atrocious on Valencia's part, especially the line-up, which was obviously picked to prove a point to Villa, and possibly the squad, I'd say after that performance his position as manager is no longer tenable.

Fucking brilliant, Villa on the bench.
  4. I've got to say the coverage and the commentators are the biggest wanks I've ever heard, seriously making it out as if Portsmouth are literally the worse team in Britain, it's a fucking shambles. Congratulations to Portsmouth and their fans, considering the constant shit throughout the season, and the fact they were relegated yesterday, I really hope they actually win the competition.

Decided to have a bet on the Spanish football, specifically Mallorca vs Valencia: David Villa to score first 7/2 (£5 stake) and Valencia to win which 2/1 at Ladbrokes (£10), seems a decent shout.
  6. Occured to me the other night that making a simple glass of squash is one of most frustrating tasks. When diluting I forget to run the tap for a few seconds, so I end up with warm squash and have to repeat the process.
  7. I can't forget how those cunts reacted to our demotion, I'm pretty sure they displayed banners to promote it.
  8. That is what got us relegated. Although if we were to get relegated again and FMA would receive another parachute payment, it is not rocket science to know that being in the PL brings more money in than any parachute payment. Yes the pressure and expectancy is higher in the PL but i dont think many would tolerate another year in the wilderness. So too save his arse, get a few more people on board and make his life a little bit easier you would think that this time, this summer, he will do things the way they should be. I hope he has learned his mistakes, if he hasnt then he is an even bigger idiot than ever conceived before. A fool that doesnt deserve his millions. This summer is make or break for him, he knows it, if he isnt willing to stump up whats needed (25mil) then he will put up for sale again. Mike Ashley created a three year plan which would represent the Arsenal model, this was when he took charge, now look at our current predicament, it's not rocket science to see that this 'plan' has been a miserable failure.
  9. Which is what will happen imo Agreed. Three year plan is what we should be looking at really. Summer 2010...OUT: Butt, Pancrate, Hall and Best (£1mil)...IN: 1st choice RB, CM and CF + LB, LW and RW as cover = £25mil - Aim: Staying up. Summer 2011...OUT: Shola, Smith, Nolan and Lovenkrands (5mil??)...IN: CF x2, CM x2 + Few youngsters with potential = £30mil - Aim: Mid table to top half (12th - 8th) Summer 2012...OUT: Anyone aging...IN: 1st choice big hitting CF, Top quality CB and Top quality LW + RW = £50mil - Aim: Top 6-7 Simples. Aye £105mil over 3 years. Fuck me you need a good kick up the arse. Tbf 25mil this summer and more or less the same the summer after isnt too much to expect IF FMA has indeed learned from his mistakes and does infact want to have a go. However after readin that back 50mil in the 3rd summer mite of been too much. £50mil over 3 summers is a bit much to expect in my honest opinion See thats from one extreme to another really. If we are 1st of all to establish ourselves and stay in the PL after next season then 25mil needs to be spent. Then if we are to progress up the table then another 25mil needs to be spent. Futher to that if we are to get close to european football in 3 years then a minimum of 25mil would need to be spent again. This...is only what i think SHOULD happen if we are to get anywhere close to where we were under KK and SBR...... FMA has the chance to right some wrongs and a good summer would go a long way towards that. I fully expect him to sell up after next season though. That's what you think should happen, Mike probably has a whole different idea about the transfer market. Looking back at summer 08 under KK he did dip into his pocket a little bit. Players In: Jonas Gutierrez (RCD Mallorca - Newcastle Utd) Undisclosed Fee Danny Guthrie (Liverpool - Newcastle Utd) Undisclosed Fee Fabricio Coloccini (Deportivo La Coruna - Newcastle Utd) £10.3million Ignacio Gonzalez (Valencia - Newcastle Utd) Loan Deal Xisco (Deportivo La Coruna - Newcastle Utd) Undisclosed Fee Players Out: Peter Ramage (Newcastle Utd – QPR) Free Transfer James Troisi (Released) Stephen Carr (Released) David Rozenhal (Newcastle Utd - SS Lazio) £2.9million Emre Belozoglu (Newcastle Utd - Fenerbahce) Undisclosed Fee Abdoulaye Faye (Newcastle Utd - Stoke City) £2,250,000 James Milner (Newcastle Utd - Aston Villa) £12million Granted that Milner did give him a little back . I'll expect him to spend about £10m and then the rest to be generated through the sales of players, hopefully Smith Ameobi, Raylor and fecking release Pancake and Butt to free up some wages! Only the fat man can answer these questions sadly. Precisely my point, theres no point constructing a plan when we dont know Ashleys intentions, obviously I was regarding to the same transfer market which you've provided us with, which is relevant to the track record. The track record which consitutes of a profit acheived in every transfer window in the Premier Leauge.
  10. Considering the tight-lipped approach over the Carroll/Taylor affair, there could be a possibilty of Taylor leaving. After the season Enrique has had, then I'm positive a few clubs would look into the opportunity of signing him. I personally would be delighted if Smith was sold, but I can't see it happening.
  11. His track record does suggest he's liable to be making another profit in a transfer window, which requires the sale of players. The papers recently have been reporting that Ashley has confirmed a standard budget of twenty million, although this could be pure speculation. Just my pessimistic view on the upcoming season really.

  13. Adrian Mole: The Wilderness Years, by Sue Townsend. Recently given after a clearout, very enjoyable start.
  14. Ignorance Bad manners Unhygenic people and people who don't say bye before they end the conversation over the phone
  15. Nearly shit myself there, Bendtner's header hits the post, fortunately it was offside.
  16. Steady Just £30, nothing to lose sleep over but would be a nice slice of luck to add alongside Bendtner.
  17. Obviously, I got the impression that wasn't part of the bet though. Might be wrong. You're correct Luke, it was my initial outlook in a way which could secure my bet, 45 minutes to hang onto however.
  18. Very good start, I had Bendter first scorer aswell (10/1) and now hopefully it stays 1-1 till half-time, then Barca come out all guns firing and secure my 3-1 bet (9/1). That looks fucked.

  20. Miss: Generally winning matches. Optimistic betting. Wont Miss: The quality of opposition. The gloomy atmosphere that surrounds St.James since our demotion, it scares the shit out of me and it seems to effect our support. Championship Coverage/Highlights programmes.
  21. He was fucking on the pitch 4 minutes or something? Now Geordie Lad I would normally enjoy reading these but this has just took the biscuit completely. And even branding Guthrie at 6.5 is a bit light, he did well. Shola aswell you can't rate him he didn't get a touch of the ball for fook sake. Buck up or buck off ! I agree completely on the Guthrie point, I thought he was a big participant in the middle and attacked very quickly, rather harsh on your rating there, suprised you rated Nolan tonight considering you're one of his biggest critics. Kevin, Fair enough Barton wasnt on long, maybe not long enough to rate....still looked hungry for the ball though. Acid, I stand by my rating of Guthrie, yes he did get forward and he did play a few nice balls but it was Nolan who was creating more...Guthrie lost the ball time and time again, stupid showboating late on gave them a chance too, plus he should of scored twice...i rate him just dont think he was very good last night. As for Nolan, i have criticised him alot, but also last few weeks you would of noticed iv praised him too. Playing with Guthrie we seem to get more from him than playing with Smith. Maybe this whole time it was Smith who was the shit one? Who knows. Either way Nolan or Smith arent good enough to start in PL...and Guthrie needs to be more consistent. Just suprised that you rated Routledge higher than Guthrie, didn't make sense to me. Routledge had two very significant chances to open the scoring, his shooting under pressure is appaulingly bad, whilst Guthrie tends to stay composed most of the time, still i think he deserved alot more praise than he received for last nights performance. Nolan has been one of our most important midfielders this season, this is proven through the crucial goals he's scored over the course of the season, he then for some time, was in genueily poor form all of a sudden, but based on recent performances he seems to have reignited the rich vain of form he started the season with. I also enjoyed watching Jonas last night, his attacking mentality nearly payed off for him last night, shame he hit the post.
