It's brilliant. He looked ordinary under Bruce, but didn't put a foot wrong under Howe. Until he did and it snapped his ACL and tore his meniscus. Absolutely devastating stuff. He's been there throughout his recovery, with the team, at the games, in the photos, determined to fully recover and get back into the squad. Kudos to the lad for doing so in this fashion, with the additional guidance from Wilson on his recovery. Seems to be an intelligent player who will continue to benefit greatly from the tactical Howe, both of them always learning and striving to improve. Hope he can stay injury free and play an important role for us.

Is it confirmed to be her though? It did look like her but was vhs quality from distance. My 20+ year old recollection.

If you watched the game today and singled out Miggy then you've got an unnatural problem with him. Gordon has been great for us but he was off today, didn't have the usual sprite in his legs. Trippier had an absolute stinker. If Almiron turned the ball over cheaply that many times or made as many defensive errors he'd have been hung drawn and quartered. Schär was our best for me, super soft penalty which I'd be more than annoyed about if it was the other way, but VAR couldn't overturn it because Hwang kicked out at the ball when he had no chance at winning it after Schär took it away from him, and did contact Schär's leg. Overall we were terrible. Wilson scored twice, which is what he's there for, but pretty much everything else he did was off. Joelinton didn't impose himself enough on the game. Bruno would have been our best if his petulant streak didn't emerge late on - firstly the ridiculous sweeping tackle attempt that contributed heavily to their second goal and later goong to ground too easily when attempting and failing to win free kicks. In the lead up to their second Pope punched the ball away when an easy catch was on offer - a baffling decision.

Howe and all associated with the footballing aspects of the club will be outwardly positive and supportive about Tonali's situation but you can bet your arse that behind closed doors the club will investigate every possible avenue through which we can lessen the blow of the shafting we copped at the hands of AC Milan. Not that the above tweet will have any basis in real news of course, just speculation.

Man City and Arsenal are better sides, Man City clearly. They were well organised in defense and we lacked bite, still we had three or four clear cut chances that on another night could have gone in. They too had three or four clear cut chances which is what I'm more worried about as our central midfield didn't cover the spaces and players that they should have.

We're missing having a shielding DMF, all of their best chances including their goal have been to players dropping back into the centre with Joe, Bruno and Longstaff always on the wrong side of the player. One of them always needs to be in the deeper position to counter that, it's like they forgot that they can score too. There has to be some balance to our shape. In attack we've lacked their first time shots, it's a weakness some of our players have; Joelinton, Longstaff come to mind, where they always want a touch before shooting. Their goal came from their player hitting quite a difficult shot with the pass moving at pace; the momentum on the ball from the pass took it away from Pope.
