As others have said, it makes absolutely no sense to rush him back. Nurse him back to full fitness and get him out there for a few games so that he can have as good an off-season as possible.
  2. Such an odd rumour to be completely fabricated.
  3. Said this elsewhere, there is no way Graham Carr has suddenly developed genius talent spotting ability like Peter Taylor [of Brian Clough's partner not the hopeless cockney who has managed about 30 lower league teams by now]. He got lucky, a great spot but lucky all the same. You sign these bargain basement players for nowt or small fees, about 1 out of 5 or 6 will be hits and the rest will be a Perch, Lovenkrands, Routledge etc. Perch is the only of those three that hasn't worked out tbh. Lovenkrands scored 3 in 12 games in our relegation season, then picked up 16 in the Championship. Has scored 4 thus far with limited consistent game time. Looks lightweight granted, but cost us nothing. Routledge came and solidified us in the second half of the Championship season, kept us fresh and added some much needed pace. He's been moved on now and if QPR are promoted (which looks likely) he'll be off to them for what we paid for him. Besides the point though, Perch is out of his depth.
  4. It would be mildly disappointing given where we are now and taking into account some of the points we have thrown away.... But on the whole most (myself included) would have taken it in a heartbeat if we were offered 10th place at the start of the season. Nothing is sewn up yet, but I'd say Birmingham's victory has just about put an end to the European ambitions.
  5. He has played since then. I swear the football gods were shining down on me the other day. I heavily criticised Guthrie for that touch when he injured himself and we conceded a gaol as a result, I did very similar (without injuring myself, and without conceding a goal) went to dribble the ball through a gap between two defenders, fucking trod on the ball and slipped over and they were off with the ball whilst I picked myself up as quickly as possible. I was playing on 4 hours sleep so that's my excuse - that and the fact that I'm not a professional football player.
  6. I can see from your pictures Paul that you were instrumental in getting Steven Ireland to sign. Cheers. This thread is officially tragic.
  7. Can see Peaspud forming some sort of neighbourhood watch rabble to spy on the Guthrie residence ala The Burbs
  8. Is anyone there able to play around 7AM-midday (UK time) at any stage this week?
  9. Someone asked the question of Danny Simpson on twitter regarding Gutthrie.. Simpsons response was that he was injured (possibly hamstring).. so obviously had no idea about him going out on loan.
  10. He was a good player in the Championship, is well out of form currently. What sort of special dispensation would be required for this given the window is now closed? Emergency?

me shin pads are now a pair of pants.. Which is fitting because I wore them on Sunday and they were pants.. Kept coming down, came flying out a few times when running. The socks I was wearing didn't help.. will need to tape them up next time. They feel great when you put them on - nice and light and whatnot - but man the amount of times I had to adjust them was ridiculous.

I'm not great on heights. Did not enjoy the lift up the tower at all. Fantastic view from the top though. Felt great to be on solid ground again afterwards, for some reason the lift on the way down seemed worse. I'm much better than I used to be though, but the effect it can have on your body can be very offputting.

  14. Thought Lovenkrands run on this play was excellent. Got into a great position, just couldn't get to the ball. They closed down Best pretty well with the follow up.
  15. CT your enthusiasm is admirable in many ways but you honestly shouldn't bother with your 'analysis' of players and tactics. Better off just posting about how the atmosphere was. You've blown your credibility on so many occasions now it's no longer funny. The melodramatic posts don't help your cause.
  16. Enrique, did get beat twice. Once by Sturridge with a good move leaving Enrique stranded, the other was when Elmander shocked him with his pace. Elmander and Sturridge up front is a pretty good pairing if I'm honest, though Elmander is was too inconsistent. A couple of the runs he made forward were fantastic, including the one near the end where he beat the same two players on three occassions before sending in the cross that Ranger headed home. Unfortunately ranger was half a yard offside though I wouldn;t say we deserved three points by anmy stretch.
  17. 1-1 in the end. We didn't deserve any more. They didn't make anything of their one man advantage.
  18. Enrique just then.. lol Ranger mm offside, otherwise we won it.
  19. Kuqi with a good attempt at earning a penalty
  20. Tiote with a cramp in his weveonlygotten muscle. Cooch finally on.
  21. Best in the box.. rips out the stepover combo...
  22. The Kooch is coming on.. Best took a knock.
  23. Worked, didn't it? It was so good he almost beat himself and only just managed to get an ordinary ball in.
  24. Bullshit foul called by the ref. Best showing some intent going for headers...
