  1. 12m - they're trying it on. He's got a year to run on his contract and they've got absolutely no hope of keeping him thereafter. He's not the sort of player you'd like to be relying on to keep you from relegation.
  2. ...and besides princess tree loves the attention in any way shape or form.
  3. Because we'll get another Barton/Enrique scenario, that's why we're offering him one now. Enrique's an entirely different proposition. Barton's 29 in 3 months and has been a continual problem for the club be it through injuries, suspensions or off-field dramas. Nolan's 29 later this month, and although he's been valuable for us since relegation his biggest weakness is his lack of movement which is not going to get better as he gets older. He's got 2 years left to run meaning that he'll be pushing 31 when his contract is up. Jose Enrique is 25 has had no off-field problems, has been great on field and has had relatively few injury problems. His value in the market will be going up and he'll be on the radar of numerous clubs.
  4. I don't think Nolan would be on huge wages TBH. He came from Bolton who won't have been paying huge wages and he came after the reality of owning Newcastle had set in with Ashley. We were towards the bottom of the table and relegation was a likely possibility, so in addition there will have been relegation clauses in the contract that lowered his wage in the Championship. Was only really bought after Barton suffered an injury.
  5. Norway this is happening.
  6. Should have better vision and awareness at that age. Plus he's a clumsy bugger. Who knows how good he will potentially be when he properly grows into his body, though I can't see him ever having the vision and footballing intelligence to be a player of note.
  7. The most embarrassing part is that CT actually believes his own horseshit and further than that carries on like he's some sort of visionary. ...and at the way in which he attempts to be patronising. A little bit special.
  8. I have Jose's, but not on your list. Says 'the best of me'
  9. Don't know anything about him, is he any good? Central defender?
  10. Quality keeping Joe Hart Good Job Tim Krul
  11. Nolan's contract isn't up until 2013. West Ham would have to pay a premium to get our highest scoring player and captain at year end. Otherwise there's no reason that the contract talks can't be put on hold until next season.
  12. Would appreciate if you could let me know what the difference in materials is between the training jacket and the match day one.
  13. I think the gold actually works on the third strip. Damn. The home strip made it easy for me to have no interest in picking one up. Those jackets look quite nice...
  14. Training jacket and third strip both look good. Much better than the home strip.
  15. Surprisingly there was a few games where Nolan covered a fair bit of ground this season. I think he's capable of being more mobile but is too lazy to do it without good motivation. Whatever the case no side is ever without injury so options are needed in all areas.
  16. No criticism can be directed at Enrique. For starters the club haven't technically signed anyone apart from a young guy that didn't even play for his French side. Enrique is clearly a player who has the ability to choose where he plays, he's been a spectacular performer for us if his ambition now exceeds that of the club then there's no reason why he shouldn't challenge himself elsewhere.
  17. He's the type of wanker that would be on ridiculously low wages just so he can be associated with a team that's winning titles.
  18. Precisely what is it that FIFA are required to do apart from organise the World Cup? If it's to promote the game internationally then they're failing spectacularly.
  19. Time for a new Official Signings thread!
  20. He's won every club medal available barring the Champions League so not that many failures. On a personal level obviously. I'm sure there's plenty of players out there who are shit who have managed to pick up loads of medals.
  21. Completely despicable. So keen to attach himself to the success of others because his career has pretty much been littered with failures.
  22. If England, Spain, Italy football associations take a stand, I think the others would swift follow suit. I just don't think that would happen. It's a huge undertaking, and I don't think anyone of those organisations would put their hand up to get the ball rolling so to speak. No doubt the far reaching tendrils of FIFA extend deep into some of these FAs (or some of the people with these FAs) so there would be some that resist. It's obvious, and has been for some time that some sort of shake up and reform is required. It would be great if someone deep within could reveal in detail the true undertakings, underhand deals, lavish wastes of money and the like that so patently underpin the foundation of the current FIFA regime. Were that to happen then there would be no choice but to excercise the change required. Sometimes you need something really bad to happen to start the process of rebuilding a-fresh. I don't know whether the Qatar debacle will be enough for that, though I wait in hope.
  23. My ITK tells me that he wants to play in the Champions League, but really likes the Premier League also. His decision will be heavily influenced by these with the net result being that he either will or won't sign with us or another club. Further news will come out today. Or another day. Keep it on the quiet though, there's big names involved and I don't want to get anyone in trouble.
